At my job (creating forms and form instructions for a state tax agency) I have literally thousands of files, primarily in QuarkXPress on Mac, which I've been updating gradually over many years. Recent Mac OS upgrades have been causing font instability, which, upon researching, I learn is due to most of our fonts being original Type 1's. When the Mac platform began to favor OpenType in place of Type 1 I never got the memo, and had no particular problems until, as I say, recent OS upgrades. I now face the task of needing to replace the eight basic Helvetica fonts with their closest OpenType relatives. I've been reading Adobe's official FAQ messages and forum postings on this type of transformation, and while I feel better informed than before I still have some uncertainty. My preference for this replacement is to get the closest metric matches to the fonts already in use in my files, secondarily a close (if imperfect) aesthetic match, and with the family name being of a lesser concern (i
I recently started to work for a company that deals with Traditional Chinese text. Source Han was amazing find and I am excited to use it. When using the font I notice that the word 步骤 in Source Han Sans does not show up correctly. To make things a little confusing the word shows up correctly in Source Han Serif. Is there something wrong with Source Han Sans and the word 步骤?Also, Noto Sans CJK TC works fine with this word, which is google's font for Source Han Sans.
Hello, my question is in regard to the stylistic sets that are part of Adobe Caslon Pro.How can I find out the specifics of which parameters each stylistic set affects?I am trying to find a style that maintains standard ligatures with the exception of 'Th' and, possibly, 'Qu' as well. While that is my specific aim, it would also be extremely helpful to know what all of the sets do. I'm surprised that there isn't any easily accessible documentation, considering that they are built right into the font.
I just installed the Windows 10 Creators Update, and now my PostScript fonts are no longer accessible to InDesign CS3. I am particularly concerned about BemboSC (small caps and italics), which I use constantly. The font shows up as missing when I open the file and the program wants a substitute. It is not listed in the dropdown font menu. The .pfb and .pfm files are in the psfonts directory I can double click the .pfm file in the pfm subdirectory and get a display of the font. When I click "Install" it says the font is already installed. I told it to overwrite. No luck. I rebooted. No luck. When I look at Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Fonts, the font is there. (Probably irrelevant: Before the reinstall it was not available in Word; after the reinstall it appeared in the list, but when I tried to apply it, it appeared as generic sans-serif.)At this point I would be okay with buying a new OpenType version
how do i change the color of the font in adobe fill and sign when putting text into a fill and sign document?
Great to see the Opentype 1.8 added to the Adobe creative suite. Disappointing is the the lack of documentation and support to get the average, person started using this. Decided to start this thread, and hope you all will add interesting links or information to this.Load a fontI recommend downloading the free Decovar Google developed. Hey,Can someone help me with this? I keep getting an error message (pictured) saying that AdobeFnt19.lst failed to sync. I can't identify the font and the help page sends me to a help article about getting my Adobe files under the storage quota. But I'm nowhere near the storage quota, so that's not the problem.Any tips will be greatly appreciated.Chris

I purchased the Zebrawood font years ago and have been using it since. I just recently purchased a Windows 10 computer. I tried to install it and tells me it isn't a valid font file. Is there a way to make it compatible with Windows 10?

The latest adobe apps that support variable fonts doesn't support Arabic as the letters takes the isolated form without the basic Arabic features like initial, medial and final and so on Is there any intention to support Arabic in the future ?Here is an example of the error the word عربي looks great in the first line because it's not a variable fontThe bottom version is a variable font the letters is all isolated ع ر ب ي and it should look like the upper version
Hi. I'm a college student majoring in visual design, and I need to find out what this font is to make my assignment. I'd be grateful if you could help me.
Hi all, Just spent some time trying to find an answer to this to no avail so kind of hoping someone here would have more info.Basic question: Does the business plan on Typekit allow multiple users at once? i.e. Team subscription? Or does every user have to purchase an individual license if they require fonts to be synced on their machine?I am working for a client (small/med business) who would like to use some fonts for their website and also printed documents. So there are 10-15 users who will need access to these fonts to use on Word/Powerpoint etc and also to use on their website. However they dont need access to any of the other creative cloud apps. However I can't work out from what was on the website whether the typekit business plan allows more than one user or if there's a team subscription just for typekit. I have looked into CC for teams here: Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for Teams / Common Questions but it doesnt mention typekit as a service...Any help is appreciated
Good day,I came across this image online. I can identify the typeface as Mr Sheffield Pro. However the type has been given an effect, with very slight ink dots around the words; and the script has a more uneven / natural look to it, as if it was truly written in an earlier time with a quill pen (as an example). Please advise as to how I can get this affect, once I download the appropriate typeface. Or perhaps some one knows of a suitable tutorial?Thank you so much.[I have attached two examples of the effect, and one image of the typeface itself]
Hi,I can't get my O to work properly in fontforge. It's completely filled in, looks like a giant blob if you know what I mean, how do I make sure that the inner most circle isn't filled in black?
Hello!I've transferred a project from Quark XPress to InDesign and have noticed a difference with the font, both onscreen and printed. InDesign, the font is slightly thinner than in Quark. I can't see that I have any unusual setting selected in either program. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks, Alexander
Selecting standard ligatures in Microsoft Word produces ligatures for fi, fl, ff, ffi, and ffl, which is what I want. But it also produces the Th ligature for many Adobe fonts, which I do not want. How to I keep Word from producing this abomination while still getting the actual standard ligatures?
Hello, I created a logo on an old computer some years ago for a family member, and I believe I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 and later modified it in either Illustrator CS2 or a free trial of Illustrator CC (I honestly do not remember. Currently do not have access to the computer it was made on, will check as soon as I do). However, recently I got a new computer and tried opening up this logo in Illustrator CC 2017, and the font cannot be found. It is saying the font is Copperplate Gothic T., yet I can find NO RECORD of this font existing anywhere. It looks exactly like some form of Copperplate, except the lowercase I looks like a typical lowercase I (I will insert picture). If someone could help me identify this mystery font, or at least find somewhere where I can at least find and purchase Copperplate Gothic T. it would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea where this font could have possibly come from, but I do know for a fact that I never downloaded or purchased such a font so it must
The numbers are solid and the letters are filled with different designs.
Hi people. This probably isn't the right place to ask this question but I wondered if anyone knows what's happening with the website xxxxxxxxxxxx.com? I've used them often in the past to obtain fonts for Illustrator projects but suddenly all I'm getting is a download error (2) message every time, and the Contact Us link doesn't work either.Does anyone have any idea what's going on there? Thanks.Website name obscured due to illegal activity. See below!
Trying to add more information to this logo and of course the original text has been outlined. Anybody know which font this is??
I'm using Typekit with Dreamweaver CC 2017 on a site for the first time, with a standard embed link in the headhttps://use.typekit.net/gan1tfv.css Fonts seem to be downloading and rendering fine. But Typekit keeps trying to access a second, mysterious file called p.typekit.net/p.css. And browsers keeps saying "no" ... Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (). When I click on the link in Dreamweaver's top bar, all I see is this:<html><head><title>403 Forbidden</title></head><body bgcolor="white"><center><h1>403 Forbidden</h1></center><hr><center>nginx</center></body></html>Does anyone know what p.css is? Is there any reason to be concerned?
