Folks -I'm more of a photoshopper than illustrator, but I'm hoping that someone can help me identify a font. Or how to pull off an affect.Any idea how to pull off this "Farmall" look? Thanks.
Hello,We purchased the Agena type 1 font set several years ago and I have been using it for artwork. I also use Swiss 721 type 1 fonts that came with my copy of Corel Draw 10. Recently I began having font swapping issues in Corel Draw even though the fonts are loaded (Win XP Pro). I tried reloading the fonts and received an invalid or damaged font message. These same fonts work fine on other machines. Does anyone have an idea on what could have caused this problem? I also tried reloading the Swiss 721 fonts from my Corel Draw CD with the same message. It seems the problem is with my computer, but I'm not sure what could be causing this. I'm not an expert in this so hopefully I have overlooked something.P.S. the fonts are working on the other computer with Corel DrawThanks,Kyle
I have to replicate this font on a tshirt. Any idea on what typeface this is?
Can anyone explain the difference between Adobe's Type and Typography forums? Thanks,Piers
Hi everyone,Do the number of fonts in the fonts folder (Windows) have an effect on OS performance? I know there are many many variable (number of fonts, machine specs, etc.) My question is as a general rule...I have a Dell T3400 workstation (dual Core 2.66Ghz) running W7Pro with 8GB Ram. I would like to install all of my fonts (about 500) and I was wondering if it would affect performance. Thanks in advance for your replies!
I'm sure that ubiquitous blue, underlined, sans-serif font that everybody uses for a Web link must have some specs ... i.e., 100% cyan with 15% K in arial or some such.Anybody set up a character style for it that looks realistic in print? Thanks,Eddie
Hello! We just upgraded from CS2 to CS4, and we can no longer run in "classic mode."We are using an AS400 data base, and I used to have to import translated text into a Quark 4.3 document (Text is a coded AS400 file that is translated into text file). Then I would open the translated text into a .qxd file, then open it in InDesign, and all would be fine. Now with the new CS4, I no longer have Quark 4.3, and niether Quark 7.3, or InDesign seem to work to want to open this text file. Does anyone know of a plugin for InDesign that would allow me to retrieve this AS400 text? I thought it might be having issues with the lack-of extension on the file, but not sure what extension it would require.Would appreciate any insight into this problem. Thanks in advance!CAkshell
I'm looking for a nice script cursive-like font that can be seen by both MAC and PC web users alike w/o having to resort to an image file. Any ideas what would work? Thanks in advance,Mike
Hi everyone,I'm a website designer and my boss has been pushing for me to use more fonts with @11220649-face, but I need to find out if I can use any of the fonts in Adobe Fontfolio or not. I know there's information about embedding liscense information here, which to me, makes it sound like I can't use any of the fonts in Adobe Fontfolio for @11220649-face (since none of the fonts are listed as "Installable" here). So I just want to make sure that I'm reading things right. Are any of Adobe Fontfolio's fonts available for using @11220649-face or should I just look elsewhere?
I just switched from using a pc and am now using a mac. I have also upgraded to CS5. In the past (on the pc) I was able to highlight my text, place my cursor in the font selection box and use the arrow keys to scroll through my fonts. This would dynamically change the highlighted text as each new font was selected. When I tried this trick on my new mac and CS5 nothing happens. Any suggestions?
I just purchased Adobe Bickham Pro. I don't know how to access all the alternate characters in the font on my mac using MSWord. I've been googling and searching for hours now, but can't figure it out on my own. Can anyone help?
Office 2010 provides ligatures for suitable OTF-fonts. It works fine for Adobe Caslon Pro, Garamond Pro, Chaparral Pro, Kepler, Myriad, Tekton Pro, ... But it doesn't for Myriad Pro. Microsoft hotline answered, this could be a problem of the Adobe font. Any idea? Are you able to reproduce the problem with Word 2010 and Minion Pro?
Hello all,I am new to posting here and would really appreciate any help or advice anyone could give.Recently our Design department upgraded to IMacs and to the Snow Leopard OS. We also bought an Adobe creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. We have specific fonts we have to use for our publications, Knockout is one in particular. Of the 8 new machines we received and loaded our fonts on to, 2 machines are having the Knockout font family not be available in the font choices in Photoshop CS4, CS5 and Illustrator CS4 and CS5. We received a Adobe suite and use InDesign CS4 and CS5 daily and have no problem using the same Knockout font family with this program. On all of the machines we loaded the fonts to the following path. Users>User Name> Library> Fonts. So that the fonts would be the same for each user.We also had to create and alias to place in the Adobe Indesign Fonts folder so that InDesign would use our necessary design fonts. This we read from the Ad
Several Futura and Garamond fonts were installed on my laptop but are not available in FM. When the documents are open containing these fonts, the "unavailable fonts" message boxes displays. When I access the Paragraph Designer and select the Default Font tab, a few of my paragraph tags, the font is displayed in gray. The three unavailable fonts are Futura Book (Future Book BT True Type) , Garamond Book/Ultra Cond and Futura Light (Futura Light BT True Type). Any idea why I can use these fonts in Microsoft products but they seem to be unusable and are replaced in the FM Console?

Hi there, Community - I have a dozen variations of Gotham as True Type files. They each have a unique file name (Gotham-Black, Gotham-Book, Gotham-Thin, etc).I have loaded them all on my PC's system font folder. Possible clue: The Filename for the Gotham variations are not all cap, abbreviated like the other fonts in the system folder. When I open Illustrator CS4 only Gotham-Book (with regular and italic attributes) are displayed. In my font window it displays simply as Gotham.I tried removing them and reinstalling the fonts in to my system folder, restarting Illustrator, restarting my computer. Same thing for Photoshop CS5.I then tried installing them one at a time and testing them in one document. The display name in the font window remains simply "Gotham" but the appearance of the type on my artboard will change appropriately (the text will appear ultra thin, or Black, etc). And then when I open that document again after closing Illustrator and adding a n
Hello!Lately, Photoshop, GIMP and even MS Notepad connect letters (for instance "f" and "i") in various fonts (Myriad, ...). Even though I only operate Vista computers, this issue does not occur on other computers. In the screenshot below you can see Myriad Pro font and the "fi" in the text seems to be too connected. As said, occuring in GIMP and notepad, too, however, not on other machines. This is really crazy. Anyone had this before? Could someone help me, please? Thanks in advance, Erich!
Hello, I tried finding another thread that might help me with this but I barely know how to explain so thanks for any assistance. I transfered the StoneSans family from my old Dell laptop to my new laptop (Latitude E-6500) via a ext. h-drive and when I try to install them I get the "cannot install. Files are invalid or corrupt" message for all. 1 thing that looks odd to me is the fonts are one file on the other PC but they split into 2 on the new (.pfm and .PFB). It looks like the PC recognizes them because it shows the red lowercase "a" icon but can't install. I tried ATM and still nothing. They're not damaged because I uninstalled them on the old PC and reinstalled and they work fine. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.Jeff
I just purchased the Frutiger family of fonts from Adobe, and installed them via the Control Panel>Fonts>Install New Font. This new font family shows up in every Windows program including Outlook and all the Office programs. However, it doesn't shop up in Photoshop CS4 which is where I need it. I saw similar questions with solutions that worked such as: Copy the fonts from Windows>Fonts to the Adobe>Fonts. However, I don't have a Fonts folder under my Adobe folder.Very frustrating since I purchased this font package from Adobe.Any help would be appreciated.
Is there a version of Frutiger that can be used in different languages? The current version does not support the special characters used in, for instance, Polish or Romanian. Is there perhaps a place where I could find a list of the languages supported by (this new/different type of) Frutiger?
I am thinking of installing Extensis Suitcase Fusion 2 for Windows to manage my fonts. I have ATM Deluxe 4.1 installed and it is recommended that I either remove or stop any other font management programs.ATM cannot be stopped, the turn off button is greyed out.Has anyone any advice on what course of action I need to take to have a smooth transition from ATM to Suitcase?
Hi,New to the Adobe User Forums and was wondering if anyone had heard of a small type foundry charging a special license agreement for TV/Broadcast use? I haven't seen this clause before and it seems a little odd. Was wondering, if perhaps, I hadn't noticed that before or if this foundry is trying to set a new precedent. Thanks, missingbarcodes
I'd appreciate some suggestions.I'm typesetting a publication of papers from a university conference (in InDesign CS4). The publication will be in book format, A5 portrait, and part of my brief is to keep length (ie number of pages) to a minimum - which means many pages dense with unrelieved text. The source documents are in Microsoft Word and Times New Roman - fairly standard, I imagine. I find large tracts of Times New Roman laborious and tiring to read, and (possibly by familiarity with it in a certain context) that it tends to look like it was printed out of Word. I need the end result to look intellectual and business-like, but hopefully to be a little fresher and inviting than I feel Times New Roman tends to look.So can anyone suggest, please, a replacement face for this purpose? Perhaps (mindful of copy length) one with similar x-height and width ratio?
I am having trouble locating a font. We've recently upgraded to CS5 and one of our designers needed a font I'd used in an earlier file. I saved the Myriad font family out for him, but 'Light' was missing from the family in fontbook, even though I am able to use it in Photoshop and all other Adobe programs. When he opens my files however, he gets a font warning saying he doens't have Myriad Pro light. My question is, why am I able to even use it if it's not in Fontbook, could it be stored some place else?
