Using the Community

On the 10 November 2009, I logged on to the adobe website and then through the site to the Testrac website that holds the online exams. I entered my credit card details in to pay for the illustrator cs4 re-certification exam and it told me that my transaction had been declined. I then tried again and again it was declined, so i used another credit card and it went through fine. I wrote my exam online and passed. the next day i checked my balance online and TESTRAC illegally took money from my acc - twice! i contacted them and they just sent me a computer generated answer. this is fraud! please help me - i am an adobe certified trainer and i trust adobe - how could this happen? has this happened to you? just because i'm not living in America doesn't mean that TESTRAC can steal from me, plus this makes adobe look very bad. i'm seriously unhappy.

Hi.  I am using Captivate 4 and I put in some TEB's.  I have used TEB's before with no problems.  The problem I am facing today is that the "submit" button, when pressed is doing nothing.  It is set to continue, but when you click on it nothing happens (it doesnt even make a click sound)  any suggestions of what I did wrong?I am using it to have the student enter a name.  I am not trying to validate it by entering a specific name, just a general name of someone they know........Thanks for your help!

Ich habe mir gestern DW CS4 und Fl als Probeversion gezogen. Wenn ich nun versuche zu installieren, passiert gar nix....Vllt. kann mir jemand helfen, bin am verzweifeln. Ich sitze jetzt knapp 24 Stunden um eine Lösung zu finden, was mache ich falsch?

I inadvertently signed up for the RSS feed for LiveCycle forums: Designer. Now I am receiving a million emails every day--I am notified every time there is a new post or a response to a post. Help! How can I unsubscribe to the RSS? I want the email notifications for when I post a question, but I don't want the RSS feed.

Why don't you just ignore this poster. At the moment s/he is running rings around you guys and you're all going ape. Just let s/he keep posting.. as when reported for abuse, delete the post. Banning is never a solution as the individual can keep creating new avatars.So, seriously, ignore the individual – and also let the others here ignore LT – and, i am sure s/he will get bored and drift away. It is all this pointing out and banning and deleting that is adding fuel to the fire.To elaborate, you can ban an ID. You cannot keep banning an individual who keeps creating new IDs. Ignoring will lead to boredom and silence. By all means, delete inappropriate posts but stop there. S/he'll get bored and move on.Basically, it boils down to maturity of moderators vs immaturity of moderators.

So i have 5 imacs with cs4 on them and i want to somehow not have to download the updates 5 different times at 1gb each. I have tried putting the DMG files on a network path but it seems to want to delete them after it is done installing.Is there a cumulative update, or some way to make the updates not delete when the adobe updater is finished with them?

Hi,We make extensive use of the ghostscript in our application. Basically application provides the document transformation capability. Currently we used to invoke GS process for every transformation request that we receive, but this has a tremendous performance overhead. To overcome this issue, we decided to convert the GS process as a server. We achieved this by making GS process start and then communicate with it using the pipes. We invoke GS (V 8.63) with various options (example: -dPAPERSIZE, -dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS...etc). We need to identify a way we can pass these options effectively to the ghostscript when it runs in the server mode.[edited by host]Any help on this topic will be of gr8 help.Thanks,Avadhut.

Do the higher-ups at Adobe know how bad their customer service is?  I seem to not be alone in doing a cross-platform upgrade, but Adobe charged my card for $1,900 (it was an $800 upgrade) I WAS NOT TOLD I WOULD BE CHARGED IN FULL... called back, was told "this was how they do it.".Well, my "case" with my LOD has been sitting untouched by Adobe - (bangalore) for 10 days now.  I should just do a charge-back on my CC and complain to the BBB.  Supposedly the software was shipped to the wrong address (adobe had the right address, but God knows what went wrong with addressing the package (be nice if they provided an Email receipt of the transaction with a tracking number).  Still, no response to my request to re-send it.Finally call what is referred to as Customer Service.  Get some IDIOT in India (US telephone sales who took the order CANNOT provide any support once they get your money.)  TOOK THE MORON 45 MINUTES TO TELL ME HE COULDN'T HELP ME.  Trying to

I am trying to remove the Adobe Web Premium & Premiere pro packages from my Vista OS.During the uninstall process in both cases the messages are saying the uninstall applications are trying to install the various constituent parts. At the end, the application says that there were problems that are stated below – and nothing follows. How can uninstall these packages?

Well, I have stuck it out, answering a few questions here and there where I can, almost exclusively in the ColdFusion forums.  But not nearly as many as I used to be able to answer when NNTP was available.So I have manged to collect a few of these so called "Answer Points' or whatever they are named.  And I wonder what could they ever be good for?  I have noted many of the arguments against them and find most of them to be quite valid.But, while noticing when my points would accumulate, I thought of one possible use for them, if only this system would allow it.  It could be useful, if I could somehow get a list of my posts that have been awarded points.  Then I could see where I have helped people and what answers where actually useful to somebody.  But there is no way to do this.I can look at the list of my recent posts in my profile, and see which ones have been answered by the checked star.  But in many of those, my post was not marked as the 'answ

Well, it looks like the thread on moderation was locked?  Not sure why and I didn't see any comment related to locking it.  I believe that there might have been a typo on John Joslin's email address.  I believe it should read: [personal email addrressed removed]   Can the Admins please resend to that email address and see if it arrives without being bounced?[Please dont put personal email addresses in a public forum.  PM them if necessary - Edited by Curt Wrigley]

How can I mark a question as answered when I've managed to determine the solution myself and posted it as a reply to my own question? I marked the "My Question is Answered" checkbox, but it was ignored when I submitted my reply. (I am the only one to have posted to the thread).

I recently upgraded from CS2 to CS4.  How do I transfer the actions I created in CS2 to CS4?  I use a mac.

I am desesperate to understand how quite basic functions (just as one of many examples: how can I paste text, that I have formatted in MS Word and want to paste into a Forum Post-Entry?) can be done with the primitive and awful Text Editor used to enter/edit Forum Entries. Notice, that like many other Adobe users, I am not familiar at all with HTML and it is therefore a description of the badly named "Full Editor" that I am looking for.Where can I find a User-Guide for this Text Editor?My recommendation to Adobe: exercise enough  brute pressure on the developers of this primitive Text Editor to force them to provide something more reasonable, more powerful and more intuitive.

It has already been moved. When I go to the breadcrumb trail it is listed in the General Forum:But when I go to the General Forum on the main forum page it is not listed there:So is this going to be added to the main forum page? Seems to be the theme of these Jive jiving forums...Used to have to log in once a day... now it's definitely twice and maybe even thrice. And of course, you're in and you're browsing and whammo you're out. The worst is the 'OUT' when you're submitting a post..."When will they ever learn... oh, when will they ever learn?"

My photos were automatically downloaded to the above mentioned sight and although I can see the photo's stored a registration message pops up and I am not able to access them, the photo's were also automatically deleted from my camera. I am aware that Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 is no longer available and have tried to download an updated trial version but this appears to taking forever and a virus message keeps appearing. If this Photoshop is unavailable why was it still available for my photo's to disappear into?

I am like many other am confused about Flash and Flex.  What confuses me is how many or want tools do I need to achieve my target application.Here is what I am trying to do:We have lots of log information (syslogs, database logs...etc) which is in CSV format.  I need to present this information to key management about the activiites from the logs in Visual format but still has dynamic links.  For the management sake, I need this application to be cross platform (Windows, MacOSX, Linux).What tool do I need to use Flash, Flex or (something else like Java)?If it is Flash or Flex, then how much would it cost?Thank you in advance for any help.K
