Sure wish I could create a poll for this, but anyway...Doesn't matter whether I have the customizing scripts enabled or not...GreaseMonkey and/or the Stylish add-on enabled or disabled. I turn AdBlock off or leave it on. Browser cache cleared, or loaded up with common AdobeForums elements.Connecting with a robust Comcast cable connection, usually testing at about 6100 kbps for download speeds.Most thread index pages take on average anywhere from 28 - 34 seconds to completely load for me.A thread with no replies maybe 10 - 12 seconds.Is anyone getting significantly faster speeds on similar connections?

I am curious as to how this goofy "answer for points" thing works and would like to experience it from the viewpoint of the original poster.The first person to reply to this "question" will be awarded the maximum number of points at my disposal.I don't check in here that frequently, so please be patient for your points. Trying to navigate through Adobe forums is painful.  It is very slow and half the time the pages won't load the first time.  I'm sure we have a reliable and fast internet connection at work.

I'm using a different computer and I'm seeing this in Safari:Also, I couldn't make a new post - the message box was very narrow and not accessible. Is it just old-browser-itis or has anyone else seen this layout? The 'currently being moderated' appears by every post. Weird.(2nd edit for typos - don't like this toy keyboard either )

If I visit this forum on the web and select a discussion to read, the 'Previous' link takes me to the next one and the 'Next' link takes me to the previous one. This strikes me as illogical - or is there something I don't understand?Noel

I realise attachments are being automatically scanned for viruses - but this is getting silly. I've just been looking at a question in the InDesign forum, and there are attachments there that have been queued for 10 hours. When someone requests a screenshot, so they can make sensible suggestions, this just stop the process dead. Can this be given a speed boost?

The new forums' rich-text editor hogs the CPU when using IE 8 on Vista.  The following causes it to consume 40% of a dual-core 1.8 GHz CPU (80% of a single processor):1. Reboot and open a new IE 8 window.2. Go to a forum and open 5 messages in tabs.3. Click on the first message tab.4. Reply to the message.5. Click the mouse on the editor's text box (where you type the body of a reply).6. Click on the other 4 message tabs in turn.7. Click back on the tab with the message reply being edited.If I open a new IE 8 window and repeat with another forum, about 80% of my CPU is being used.This doesn't happen with Firefox on the same machine or IE 7 on another XP machine.It's not reasonable to say "use Firefox", because most users of many products (e.g. Photoshop Elements) are on IE, and Windows auto-update is gradually upgrading users to IE 8 over the next couple of months.

I know this was probably posted before, but the more posts the more likely it may be that an Adobe official takes notice of the problems.Problem 1: A "Search this forum"-button is mandatory to be able to use the forums. Currently, each search provides search results from all forums. Using the Options-button to narrow the search results down each time is much too slow (see also problem 2) and the selection field is badly sorted. Hasn´t anybody tested this function before migrating?Problem 2: The new forum is even slower than the old one was. Developers probably have multicore systems and bandwith enough, but for users who are restricted to use dedicated Internet gate computers (and who have less bandwidth) like us it takes at least 30 Seconds for each Adobe page to display and to be clickable. When I type, the letters appear several seconds delayed. Reduce the layout and Flash, increase the usability.

It looks like those irritating codes at the end of the subject line are goingto stay. There are a couple of things about them that make them even moreirritating, but they could - I should have thought - easily be put right.(1) The first part looks like six randomly generated ascii characterssignifying the date. If that is the case, then five digits would do untilOctober 2173, just by counting days since 1 January 1900 (today is 39919, forexample). This would mean that parts of a thread sorted by subject would stayin the right date order even though the thread spanned more than one day. Theydon't at the moment, unless the random code happens to sort alphanumericallyin the right order.(2) It looks as if the last four characters increment as posts are recorded.The problem here is that they increment according to the ascii sort order,which cannot be specified for any mail client that I know of. ...at least, I haven't seen anyone else refer to this, but it's possible I've missed it. And that is...Every once in a while I've noticed that I'll log-in, or return to the forums from elsewhere (another domain) and see that I'm logged in to the forums, but at the very top left of the page I'll see that I'm NOT logged in to my Adobe account. I can't discern any pattern in how or when or under what conditions this will occur. It could be that it's happening while the system is being tweaked on the back-end; of course there's noway for me to know when that situation is occuring.Anybody else notice that? Anybody figure out a pattern for it?

What are the reasons that nntp access was discontinued?As a direct result a lot of long-time, knowledgable users seem to have abandoned the forums especially on the Macromedia side - nntp was just so much quicker let alone the possibilities to filter and quickly save topics as plain text. This is more than a bit disappointing.Please, consider bringing back nttp access.

So when is this going to get fixed. I wasn't even gone an hour and the actual login takes forever.

I inadvertently included my phone number in a post and would like to remove it. I was able to edit it out in a post that didn't have any replies, but there's still one that I don't have the option to edit. Can you suggest a remedy? Thanks.

Adobe Forums admin folks (John C, perhaps?), please have mercy on your users and make Verdana the default for posts, and not frickin' Arial. Verdana was designed for on-screen reading, while Arial was barely designed for reading at all. I'll set this same paragraph again in Verdana below, so you can see the difference.
