Repeated at the bottom - pleeeeeaaasssseeeee! It's only a template, how hard can it be?

I was playing around with the Your View setting of the homepage (which doesn't seem to open as default, unfortunately), and I thought what I came up with might be useful to other (frustrated) users... If you have a different setup, you can post it here as well.  I choose the 3-column layout because it seems to minimize the huge font that is used in any of the 2-columns options. Since I follow mostly certain forums (as I'm sure most others do as well), and there doesn't seem to be any way of creating a "favorites" list, I've added the RSS feeds from my forums of interest into my customized home-page, as well as my private messages box and the list of all forums. It looks something like this. (I hope the image is clear, in the preview it looks quite small).As you can see, I'm losing about a quarter of the screen due to this wonderful grey bar that's stuck there. It would have been nice to be able to use that space for some more boxes, but I guess that's expecting too much at this po

Caught this tonight  (Mon 13 Apr 2009 1:08 EDT) on the PS/Mac thread index page. Never saw it before.I thought it would correct itself after the page was fully loaded and the progress bad disappeared, but it didn't.

First off, I like the new forums! However...The email notifications are wreaking havoc on my Gmail. There are two basic problems:The subject line of every email subject starts with the extremely verbose "[Adobe Premiere Elements] New Message: Re: " and then lists the forum's topic. The end result is that the forum topic (the most important part) is always cut off. Seriously: shorten it to "[Adobe] Re:"!!!Every subject line includes some sort of unique message identifier - which makes Gmail thing every single email is a separate conversation. In the prior forums, Gmail would group all forum notification emails of "Stupid Forum Updates" into one conversation... meaning it would show up once in my inbox; clicking on the message would show me all the emails in a thread-like display. Now, that doesn't work.Put these 2 things together and it makes email notification for Gmail almost useless. I now have 187 email notifications, but I can't tell what any of them are about because the subject l

Hello all,Since long ago, I had an ‘Adobe WEB account’ used to log to these (well, the old ones) forums. Recently, I had to create an ‘Adobe ID’ and link the old account to it. This combination created a complication with my ‘screen name’. When I created the new ‘Adobe ID’ I could not use my old ‘screen name’ because it was in use - yes, it was, by my old web account -, so I used a different ‘screen name’. Now, I guess the old account is gone, but I cannot change the ‘screen name’ back to what it was before: I’m STILL told the old ‘screen name’ is in use!.So, my question: how to get my old ‘screen name’ back?

Hi allQuestion for the forum mods here.Do the forums have a feature whereby if a forum post hasn't received an answer within a specified amount of time that it is sent out again in E-Mail?I've seen a couple of messages lately that I know I had seen before. I know that sometimes users grow anxious and will repeatedly post the same issue hoping for a faster response. But this doesn't seem to be the case with these. The vast majority of messages in the RSS feeds are identified as being "posted by forums@adobe.com". Rarely the poster's email address is given. Would it be possible to make this latter behaviour the default?MHP

I have spent hours painstakingly going through all the Mozilla troubleshooting steps, deleting cookies, disabling plug-ins, disabling all my security software, trying in safe mode, so forth and so on.  No matter what I try, this forum refuses to let me log in using Firefox.  Before I can type in my log in info it switches to a page claiming I have cookies disabled.  Believe you me, I patently do NOT have them disabled, and this is the only forum in years of forum-crawling that has ever given me so much trouble.What gives, Adobe?

Every message emailed to me, and I maintain special mailboxes for each one.With the old forums, the Subject of posts to the InDesign forum would appear like so in my email program's summary window:The screen shot shows how I was able to read most of the Subject line, and how I was able to Sort Threads (by Option/Alt-clicking) to read the ones I was interested in (those are the ones highlighted in blue).In the new forum software, here's how they look in my email program:Do you see the problem? I would be so grateful for advice on following.I am undertaking a graphic design course where I am currently beginning learning Adobe Illustrator. I am using windows XP which is bang up to date. However, upon commencing the 'beginners' course where I began to design basic shapes; a message popped up on the screen inform me that in order to run Illustrator at the required speed, I would need to install Adobe 9 (I think). I have downloaded my course software Illustrator CS3.I wonder if someone could tell me exactly what software/hardware is needed to run Illustrator.Thanks very muchClaire

Hi everyone,We're trying to get a pulse from the community on what email clients and platforms you guys are using, especially in the case where the threading of email subscriptions isn't working. I have heard that threads can be grouped in Entourage on a Mac.Can anyone Mac/Entourange users confirm this?Would appreciate everyone's input on what mail client/OS you are using and if threading works for you or not. I know for the majority of you it isn't working, and we're looking at ways this can be addressed.Thanks!Here's the first entry: I use Microsoft Outlook on Windows XP and my email notifications don't thread.

If I open a multi-page thread which is marked as "updated" on the main page and then go back to the main page the "updated" indication goes away.  If that's how it's supposed to work then it's pretty screwed up!

Things are a bit slow to download/render.  I hope that will be fixed as the new servers are replicated/tuned/whatever.

When I am in the Photoshop Windows forum I notice there is a link (on the right side of the screen) to the Photoshop Windows FAQ forum. Great, but why is there not also a link to Bridge Windows and Adobe Camera Raw forums? These products are most certainly installed on every Ps machine. What about a link to Photoshop Lightroom?Some forums have no links such as the Bridge Windows. It's currently all very ad-hoc and navigation could be greatly improved with better links. They do not seem to be user configurable so Adobe should put more thought into these navigation links.

There has been some crumbling about the lack of "breadcrumbs" on the new Adobe forum pages. What the heck is a breadcrumb and why should I care?

The subject lines in email are ridiculously long due to the added forum identification and other non-content. Especially if threads originate by people like me who believe subjects should cover the actual content of the message.The smart way to add the forum identification information is to use the standard way from RFC 2919: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2919.txtThis allows you to embed additional information in email headers where MUAs can act upon them, without cluttering up the screen for the human reader. Has anyone else had trouble with the Report Abuse function?I have now tried to send three messages using the Report Abuse function.  Two of them failed outright, and the only test message sent went through unacknowledged. If you would like to help in this matter, then please perform the following test:1) Click on the appropriate button.2) Enter a brief test message.3) Verify whether it is sent.4) Report their finding to this discussion.Before I register a formal complaint with Adobe I would like to gather evidence to support my case.Roddy

When I am viewing a thread list (say Flash General Discussions for example) and I browser forward past the first page of results, and then open one up, and click the back button in my browser, I go back to the first page of results again, rather than the page I was on, as I would expect.
