Hi there,I have to buy a new machine !I'm working most the time with After effect and Cinema 4D. I read some reviews about the new Imac pro 2017. It makes dream.But my question is about the value. I work mainly for motion design with sometimes 3D. My question is it's better to buy like a Imac 27'', 4,2GHz, 32Go, for about 2900 euros or going to have the new "basic" Imac pro 2017, 4,2GHz turboboost, 32Go, with the new vega graphic card for 4900 euros. I say to myself that maybe the imac pro will be useful for more consequent projects in the future (like more big 3D project). So someone could help me about it ? 🙂Thank you very much

Usually it either crashes or starts not responding, even on VERY simple tasks. And I'mat the point now where I dread editing anything.I always edit from the external SSD, is that a problem? would I be better off editing from my internalHDD, as there is about 900gb free?

I use Premier to edit, mostly my own HD footage. Currently HD, but would like to be 4K ready is case a client demands it. I also plan to start using AE and also want to be able to commission motion graphics work to bring into projects. I had settled on the Dell XPS 8930, but the memory is only 16GB and although they sell additional (but don't install it) it's not available for a couple more months. I paid a deposit from my 7900X build at the end of October last year, but the components are taking forever to arrive.  Just before Christmas the builder was just waiting for the motherboard, an ASRock Fatal1ty x299 Professional Gaming i9, and I thought surely it would have turned up by today when they opened after the Christmas break.  No such luck.  My builder's supplier is apparently still waiting, which means nothing. OK this is New Zealand, and I did ask them to change to the XE version with the bigger VRM heatsink, but what the heck?  Newegg NZ shows it in stock and even mentions a limit of five per customer, so what could be causing the hold up?Anyway, excuse my rant, but I felt the need to vent, but I'd appreciate feedback on other people's experience with ASRock X299 boards.

I am considering purchasing the Panasonic camera for several projects, which will be edited in PP CC 2018. I am aware of the issues with bringing in Dolby audio files but was wondering if there are any other issues with file compatibility. I intend to shoot in both 4k and HD (mov & mp4 files).Thanks in advance!

I'm about to return my laptop I have now for a stronger machine because this one is dealing with errors with premiere and has a dedicated graphics card but looks like it's not compatible with Premiere pro. Looks like it's actually a very new graphics card so I don't think alot of things will be compatible with it. My graphics card is the AMD Ryzen Vega I believe.My question is, do I need to have a laptop that has a graphics card from this list and only this list?Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements I don't want to buy another laptop that has a graphics card that isn't compatible again.

Hi guysA little off track, but wonder if I can pick your brains.Since moving from tape based to fully digital, my storage is under real pressure. As a contingency, I am using external 4tb HDDs, like WD My Passport or Elements. But I’m concerned they are not the full answer. I’ve heard they may not be 100% reliable over time (especially if used sporadically), so I can’t use those as archives for my key material.so, can I ask what reliable storage/ archive solutions do you guys use/ suggest?Regards,Graham

im buying a computer to use premier pro, but wanted to confirm a Radeon a6 card is good enough to support it? it's not on the sites recommended card list for system requirements. But I thought since those cards are listed as reccomended, not required, this might be ok. Any opinions to help?[Moderator note: moved to best forum.]

So here's a weird one that I can't find anything on. In both PP and AE if the my headphones disconnect then the RAM preview stops playing. It renders (green bar fills and memory is being used) but doesn't play and jumps forward a single frame in the program window when you pause it. My headphones have a really cruddy port that disconnects and reconnects with small  movement, so it happens a lot, and I know it's not the headphones because it occurs no matter what device I use.I hope this isn't normal behavior, if it is let's fix it, I can see studios switching their gear around mid project to play to the room vs headphones and having it crash from this issue. It's been an issue for me since late 2016 I believe, which is when I began using Adobe. I have no idea what info to post that could help, I have the latest cc, although currently finishing a project in ae 17.2, but it still happens in 2018 version. Let me know what I can do to help!

I started by trying to fit the requirements inAdobe Premiere Pro System Requirements to a new laptop purchase (for under ($1K) but it was too cumbersome looking up the video card and finding it unlisted in the the system reqts for premiere pro. I did this for 20 laptops all with i7 processors and a base speed of at least 2.5 ghz with sufficient ram and memory. But they had cards that were not in the list.My old Toshiba had Intel HD graphics card but cant find the exact number. I find several prospects with Intel HD Graphics 620 but this is not on the reqts list.I'm wondering if there is a better way of finding the right match..........or if it's going to cost too much to buy a computer that can use Premiere Pro.

How this laptop should deal with exported film in programs such as Adobe AE or premiere?? Do you have any experience !? The best settings for optimization?as an example, I will say that yesterday, for example, rendering a movie about 10 minutes the film was rendered to the quality of 1080 full HD about one hour and up to 2.7 k, which is the final material like the raw file about 2 hours. here is my question because it seems to me that it was very long ... Is it still a matter of any configuration? Whether the hardware specification does not allow for faster rendering

So after six years, either my processor or a memory slot on my mobo is failing.  I know a LOT has changed in 6 years, and I am way out of shape but trying to get up to speed fast and am feeling a little overwhelmed, hoping to get some good advice here, much as I did way back when from Harm, Eric, Bill and others.My needs right now are to cut 4k a7sii and 4k drone footage with LUT's and Lumetri effects. I'm in the process of cobbling together a recommendation for my work on the new iMac Pros and am looking for max RAM supported in CC, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.  I work in grand format design and printing and need something with some heft to since a lot of files are multiple GBs. My 2012 MBPR with an i7, 256gb SSD and 8 gigs of ram suffers from the known gpu issue of mbp’s from that era as well as random battery shutdowns. it is out of warranty and out of that program to fix the gpu which expired in dec 31. As such I’m looking at my options..needs: edit 1080p H264, 4k (in the future) without hookup, able to color grade with at least one adjustment layer without gpu glitching.Budget: ideally for a laptop I would like to be around $1000 but honestly I’ve seen some decent specced gaming laptops on eBay used for $600-800. I’m not opposed to a desktop in the future but I’m really wanting a laptop.Any mid-low budget recommendations? At this point it seems from hat I’ve read that the apple machines aren’t cutting it with premiere anymore. My experience seems to match that. Even with the 5-20 minute films/videos I make the performance is laggy and color grading performance is terrible.Thoughts?

Hi all,Please don't point me to the Adobe page for minimum system requirements.  I'm not looking for a computer that will just minimally run the software.  I want performance to be reasonably acceptable.I bought a laptop about three years ago, and while I'm sure you're thinking that 3 years is a long time, it doesn't seem (from my perhaps non-techie view) that specs have gotten a lot better since then.   I have 16 GB RAM and an Intel i7 processor, and the top laptops nowadays still come with 16 GB of RAM and an i7.However, the Adobe Creative Cloud software products (Lightroom Photoshop CC) have started to get slower on my computer and I don't know if it's because my hardware is insufficient, or some other reason.  I've used some "cleaner" software like Revo uninstaller to get rid of junk, so I think the computer is relatively clean.I'm starting to do more video work, but before I buy Premiere, I would like real-world opinions on whether I need a new laptop or n

Using Premiere (and Audition) CC 2018 on macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 (Mac Pro 5,1 and MacBook Pro).  Curious what current hardware solutions people are using to monitor and mix surround and multi-channel audio?  Looking for USB 2 or USB 3 solutions (not Thunderbolt) that would allow mapping to each speaker for 5.1 or 7.1 setups.  Searching through forums and only finding old posts referencing fairly outdated and unavailable hardware.  Unfortunately, HDMI embedded audio out solutions will not work and would like to avoid Toslink S/PDIF through a receiver.
