Hey guys and gals -I just got a new Asus Rampage VI Extreme board, along with an Intel 7900X chip that was de-lidded by the folks at Silicon Lottery. For record: they pull the IHS off the chip, clean out the horrible TIM that Intel uses, replace it with Liquid Metal, and seal the chip back up. Then they overclock it as far as it can go and bin the resulting chips. I got a 4.7GHz one from them.PPBM results here:"21","38","7","163", Premiere Version:, 12.0.0.224Anyway, I also purchased 64GB of RAM off of Asus' QVL; meaning it should hit an OC of 2400MHz. Unfortunately, Asus' cruddy BIOS can't manage to OC it properly using the XMP profiles, so I've held off on pushing any further. My question is: will a 2400MHz RAM OC improve the performance in Pr any?
If I do overclocking and I carry the Intel 8700k microprocessor to 4.7ghz, I will hold it with the COOLER ZALMAN CNPS5X PERFORMA? http://www.fullh4rd.com.ar/index.php?section=prod&prod=9097they serve the air cooler???my budget is adjusted

I'm rebuilding my Hackintosh box. With Apple abandoning Nvidia in all the new MBPs, and the years of issues and glitching I've had trying to use CUDA on my laptop, I'm wondering which would be a better card to get ... AMD/Radeon or Nvidia??Over at Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements they still list lots of CUDA cards.Any advice appreciated.
How to force to use GTX 1060 in Adobe Premiere? I changed my old Quadro and there is no any upgrade for me.
I'm upgrading my build with the following: (prices in Italy)Intel i7-8700K ~ 440 euroMSI Z370A Pro ~100 euroM.2 Samsung evo 960 250GB ~130 euroThe original idea was to get a GTX 1060 6GB and add 16gb of ram to the already 16gb I have, DDR4 same modelConsidering ram is very expensive and next year will probably start to lower ( Samsung to increase DRAM output as RAM prices continue to climb | PC Gamer ) I was thinking to leave ram as is and get a 1070 8GB for the same money.Do you think Premiere will benefit from the more cuda cores or it would be better off with loads of memory?I'll leave here the prices I have in Italy, so to see if it's worth spending 70 euro more for the Gigabyte or the Zotac mini will suffice since the price is pretty good.MSI GTX 1060 6GT 6GB ~ 310 euroGigaByte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB ~ 480 euroZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Mini ~ 410Thanks in advance, let me know your thoughts.
Hey I'm trying to edit 4k drone footage in Premiere pro and the footage lags a ton in the preview window. I have it at 1/4 already and the lag is making it impossible to edit. I have a decent build, so I'm confused on why I'm getting tons of lag. My build is:CPU - Intel i7 7700k 4.2Ghz (not overclocked)Ram - 32GBStorage - I only have a Samsung 850 Evo 250GB SSD, but I have most of my files on a 2TB hard drive. Still using about 60% of the SSD though.Graphics - EVGA GTX 1080 8GbWhen I am previewing the footage, task manager puts Premiere at about 50% of my CPU and 4.5GB of memory.I run games on ultra high quality with great fps, so I'm just confused on why I'm lagging so hard on 1/4 quality 4k footage. Do I not have a good enough build for 4k? Or is there some quick fix that I'm not doing? Appreciate any help, I'm not a huge software savvy guy so bare with me.
ive been trying to run off some footage for about a week now and every time it gets half way the whole computer shuts down. It’s not over heated I’ve already checkedcould there be some kind of fault? It’s quite important I get this footage off as soon as possible. I need it on Saturday...
What do I need the PC for?I’m using After Effects, Premiere Pro and Photoshop very intensively. I started alone 2 years ago while studying and by now I put like 10-20 effects on one layer affecting color/distortion/shapes/compositing and my computer can’t afford enough performance to show anything fluently. My total budget is 2000€ but I would like to buy some Plug-ins from RedGiant or VideoCopilot with the rest of 200€ and take some first steps into them although my mainly used programs will be AE, PP and PS. Dear community,I´ve been using Adobe Creative Cloud since a few weeks. I´m thinking about aquiring a mini PC and am wondering if it would be possible to use certain applications on it. I normally need only Indesign, Photophop and Adobe Acrobat, but have these applications often open at the same time. Apart from these applications I normally have only Micosoft Office and some other smaller applications on my PC.Is it possible and if yes, what mini PC would be best for this purpose?Thank you for your help.
Hello everyone, I am wanting to upgrade my current setup to increase my speeds in Premier Pro. My current setup is listed below but I am unaware what route I should take for this task. Whether an NVME, M.2, or just a regular SSD. Budget isnt crazy tight but there is one.Gigabyte Gaming 3 B350MRyzen 1700 OC'ed to 3.932 Gb Trident Z Ram at 2933EVGA 1080ti250 Gb SSD1 TB 7200rpm HDD[Moderator note: moved to best forum]
I have a mid 2010 15 inch MacBook Pro. I know that I need 8gb's of ram to run Premiere Pro. That being said, can anyone here simply tell me if my computer will be able to handle Premiere Pro and After Effects? Thank you in advance?
I'm considering updating my current system. Realistically I have about GBP1k-1.2k to spend (around US$1500).Here's my current set up:i7 2600k32gb ddr3 2666 RAMGTX 760 4gb Drives: ssd1 (120gb) OS and programsssd2 (256gb) Media cachessd3&4: 2 x 256gb in Raid 0 (getting 970 mbps read and write speeds) – Scratch/Previews/Exports(these are all Samsung Pros)HDD 4x2tb WD Blacks in Raid 0 (getting 580+ mbps read and write speeds) – Project MediaI often have several projects on the go as well as regular clients where i'm using the same media several times a year, hence the 8tb Raid 0 for media files has been useful. I've tried to keep it under 75% utilised though.I also have an old Blackmagic Decklink Extreme 3 HD card attached to it for monitoring. My footage is mainly Sony f5/f55/fs7 avc intra MXF, log 2 and 3, in HD1080. And it all works fine...at HD. 4K works too with a bit of dropping to half res. R3D files can be sticky and horrible, but RED projects are only a twice a year occurrence
Hello,I'm a systems engineer and don't have a CC installation in my office.Does anyone know if it's possible to capture live input from different audio and video sources? In this case, it would be an AJA IOXT for the video, and USB (core audio) for audio tracks. The idea is to get multi-channel audio directly from a mixer with a USB connection, while also recording the video from the IOXT (without needing to embed all the audio tracks into the SDI video). I have no way to determine if Premiere will allow this and it's too specialized for the manual.Thank you!
Hey guys,Just having a bit of a strange problem here. When putting a lot of stress on my workload via many track layers and effects within Premiere, I am finding that occasionally my program crashes, along with a Windows error message with a yellow caution sign icon, that warns that Premiere is using too much RAM and must be shut down!I am working on a Threadripper 1950x system with 32GB of quad channel RAM. In the past, when using a Ryzen 1700x with a near-identical dual channel 32GB of RAM, I would never get this issue.I set the allocated RAM usage in the Premiere preferences to 16GB and optimize for performance. So I am curious why it is still hogging beyond that amount allocated. In my CAM hardware monitoring software, I am seeing RAM usage going up to 80% for some reason. What could be the issue here? I don't honestly think that 64GB was necessary for complex 4K workloads. Is that changing these days? Is Threadripper RAM hungry?Any advice or solutions to this issue would be greatly
Hey guys,I am looking for a bigger external hard drive for my new 27" iMac (3.8GHz, 40GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Radeon Pro 580 8GB video memory) where I can edit my 4K video material straight from it without transferring to my internal SSD first. The biggest video files I work with is 4K RED footage with 200-300fps.So my general question for this matter is: Is the type of the drive (SSD vs HDD) more relevant than the available ports (USB-C Gen 2 vs. Thunderbolt 3) regarding speed? If this is a yes or no question at all.At the moment I use a LaCie rugged T2 drive which is plugged to the Thunderbolt 3 port from the iMac via USB-C to T2 adapter. Would the Samsung T5 SSD be an upgrade regarding 4K editing speed in this case regardless of its slower USB-C gen 2 port? Also, are external hard drives with T3 connection such as the newest G-Drive or the LaCie d2 Thunderbolt 3 any faster in the actual editing speed than the Samsung T5 since they are "only" HHD drives?Hope you guys will help me clear my h
