I have spent way too many hours over way too many months trying to figure this out. I have not found anything specific to my problem in the discussions. I have used Adobe on my desktop for many years to edit and sign pdfs. Since the update, sometime earlier this year, I can no longer click add signature and add a signature to a document. When I click on the shortcut next to my document to add the signature I had saved it is now blank. When I click to add a signature the entire app goes black and freezes. This is incredibly frustrating and makes paying for the program completely useless. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution? In addition, almost EVERY time I do anything with a document I get the error message below (4th photo). Any ideas why that keeps happening and why Adobe is not addressing these issues?
I am unable to access the Menu (icon with the 3 lines) to access the layers icon. Shift + Cmd + M does not work. I need to access the layers icon to print out certain size on sewing patterns. Without this feature, i cannot print out different sizes contained in the pdf of the pattern. I was able to do this before on the old version of Adobe reader on a very old Mac. This is not possible on either my iPad or my new Mac. Any ideas what i can do to solve this? I have a screen shot but am unable to post it with this post. Thank you. Sandra
I am training people on how to create Digital Signatures.I use Acrobat DC Pro. They only have access to Acrobat Reader DC. When creating a signature with Reader, it does not ask them to create a password. But with my Pro version, it does ask for a password for signatures. Is there a setting I'm missing? Is this not a requirement for Reader DC digital signatures? Thanks to all.
Error message: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and was not decoded)
More than one year ago I posted on this forum about broken functionality to send documents by email using SMTP server configured in AR. There was some discussion and I even uploaded detailed diagnostic files, but nothing happened, and as of today (v. 2024.003.2180) it still does not work - I just tried again with the same result. If Adobe is going to fix it, which I can imagine may be the case given an obvious interest to hosting everything on Adobe cloud, then paybe it's time to retire this function altogether? Why keeping it broken for years?
As the title says, Acrobat reader is freezing. Conditions: - It happens to one user, with one specific PDF. - It happens across this user's devices, and so seems account bound.Attemps to Remediate:- Restarted PC.- Updated Windows.- Updated all drivers and firmware on device.- Repaired installation.- Uninstalled and reinstalled.- Deleted user from admin console and readded user.- Shortened filepath length.- Ran Creative Cloud Cleaner. All attempts at remediating the issue have failed thus far. What am I missing? Have I just angered the Machine Spirit?
When reading a file in Windows, the tab shows only the first few words of the name of the file; how do I see the whole name of the file?
Hello, I can't install the 2019 version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Can you help me?thank you.
Like refered to on the subject, I can´t copy and paste from the pdf to another app anymore. The pdf is not locked, Copy content is allowed, it is not scaned text...Tried with pdfs used in the past which previously worked, but now doesn't.Is this a bug that is going to get fixed.... or is it to have us buy the paid version ?
I somehow marked some text in a PDF to be redacted, and i have no idea how to undo that. I cant save the document now; Acrobat crashes every time. I do NOT want to redact any text. Help? thank you!
I have Adobe Pro DC. I just got it (so I'm new at using it and am not very good at it yet). I have searched and searched for an answer to this problem and have had no luck. I didn't see anything about this in the tutorials, either. I found out how to change the font size in the parts of the form that users don't fill in, but can't find any help on changing the font size for the fillable areas. I downloaded a fillable form and when I enter the text in the fillable fields, it does not all fit and so it doesn't show up on screen or when I print. I don't want to change the text box because it will mess up the appearance of the form itself and I'm trying to keep that as close to the original as possible. I want to know how to change the size of the fillable font, which is not an option when I select "edit text..."I am using a Mac. (I also went to the Apple site and got the keyboard shortcuts, but that wasn't much help.)
Despite someone's erroneously marking a similar question as having been answered correctly, this basic feature is still not working as of June 23, 2024. I downloaded the recent update (2024.002.20857). The recently used list doesn't work even for files stored on the local hard drive. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM OR PROVIDE INFORMATION.
Is it possible to use Cyrillic characters in the Javascript code, for example:app.addMenuItem({ cName: "test", cUser: "test", cParent: "Help", nPos: -1, cExec: "test()", cEnable: "event.rc = (event.target != null);"}); function test() { app.alert("Привет!", 3); }Instead of Cyrillic characters, the function "app.alert" displays a set of characters corresponding to the CP1361 encoding (according to the online encoder).Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
Hi everyone,I'm having trouble with the Acrobat PDF printer. Every time I try to print to PDF, it either doesn't respond or gives me an error message. I’ve tried reinstalling Acrobat and checking my printer settings, but nothing seems to work.Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi,we have currently a big Problem with using the Adobe Reader Version 24.2.20991 (Update to current Version 24.2.21005 shows the same Issue). If you try to use the AdobeReader, the performance and loading time, (only to view the document) is exordanary bad.If the Users try to edit an document, the Reader shows no response and crashes or remain in this status. We found a workaround to "solve" this issue.-> deactivate the Protected Mode At StartupSince this is manual fix, we get a lot of Tickets about this Issue. Is there any Global fix or a fix planned for an upcoming version? Thanks in advance.
Seems crazy that there's no functionality for this, but there appears not to be. I want to mark up a document, highlighting text and making comments here and there. I highlight a lot, which helps me steer my eyes to particular bits of the text when I'm teaching it. Sometimes I leave comments for myself. I'd like to see those comments, and only those comments, without being notified that there is also a "highlighted text" on the comment list. Can we just turn off "formatting" changes? MS Word allows this: comments are only text-based comments to oneself. Highlighting doesn't display as a comment. The problem is that the way that Adobe currently works it, all of my comments get lost in a sea of "highlighted text" notifications, which basically makes all of the functionality useless to me.
I downloaded a Canadian passport application from the government website and partly filled it in and saved it using the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader.I needed to get other information so I closed it and tried to come back to it later, but now it is not working. It gives me this error message:This document enabled extended features in Adobe Acrobat Reader. This document has been changed since it was created and use of adobe reader extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.I found that I can no longer fill in any field or use any of the built-in functionality. If I open the pdf in my browser, I can access and modify the fields, but the automatic functionality does not work. I could only copy the data I already entered when opening the pdf in my browser. I can't access my data from Adobe Reader, so I either transfer all my existing data to a new copy, or I edit it in my browser where the extended fea
Someone please assist - As of recently everyone in our company is starting to receive the "Reading Untagged Document with Assistive Technology" "An assistive technology like a reader may be running on your machine" message anytime they try to print a PDF only in INTERNET EXPLORER. I highly believe a windows update of some sort turned this feature on for all computers but I can not find anything online. I see posts on people fixing it by renaming some files on the HD to old but I'm not trying to do that for 1k plus computers. Another weird thing is as the viewer has changed as some PDFs don't open full page anymore. This happened the same exact time as the reading untagged documents message started appearing. I thought it was something with the narrator as that's what someone suggested but it has not helped after disabling. I tried looking at updates but nothing makes sense. Anyone else get this recently?
Hi there,My company is sending to me documents which need a password to be opened (obviously I have the password). As this is very time consuming (looking for the password each time I open the document) I wanted to remove that password.I read some documentation about how to do it, but the issue is that the document does not allow me to remove the password (the one I know), because there is another password (like admin password) which I do not know.I have the paid version of acrobat reader and does not allow me to do it, but there are thousends of pages out there which freely remove the password for me, so I do not understand why the paid version of acrobat does not allow me to do it.Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way of removing it that I still did not get it so far? Thanks for your help.LuzCom
Dear all, sadly the signature fields are missing when opening the pdf form on mobile device like iPhone or Android. On the PC everything works quite fine but I'll need employees to sign the forms on their mobile device. Any ideas? Best,Jannick
The notes and markups I took on a PDF in the Reader application have disappeared, how can I restore them?
I tried to print a PDF. A photo of the screen of some of the text (sharp, black text): However, the printed paper has holes in the black letters, which aren't that black anyways: This looks blurry and grayish and is harder to read. Is this the printer's fault? I don't think so because when I copied the text to MS Word and printed that, I got much crisper black text: I tried printing in grayscale and trying different checkboxes in the Color Management (in advanced print setup) but it always prints blurry, grayish, holey text.
