Hello! I have been trying to export my movie on Character Animator using media encoder on my Windows 10 laptop. after days of constant "fails" and holding on the same frame every time I don't know what's wrong. my best guess is that its a memory RAM problem. I keeping getting "Bad allocation" on CH. I've tried cleaning the cache files and boosting the memory in preferences with no luck. Is there a trick to fix this that doesn't include buying or updating hardware? I have 8GB of Ram so is there a way to play at a slightly lower quality to help this? Sorry I am new to all of this but it keeps constantly failing or freezing on the same frame and a few times bugging out and corrupting the original file so CH can't read my original video. I would be extremely grateful for any advice and I can't provide more info if needed!
I am creating "virtual choir" videos, so I receive videos from 15 to 20 choir members. These videos are all shot on whatever consumer equipment the choir members have, from cellphones to laptop cameras to digital cameras. And they are large, typically around 200-400 MB each. For these videos, the video quality isn't super important - it's just their smiling face singing the song. But the quality of the sound (such as it is) is really important since it's a musical production. So, I've been running them through Adobe Media Encoder to "shrink" them, presumably while maintaining the audio quality and not degrading the video quality noticably. My question is: Are the settings I'm using reasonably optimal for this scenario? I start with this preset: Format: H264 Preset: Match Source - Medium bitrate then I tweak the Audio settings: Sample rate: 48 KHz Channels: Mono Audio quality: High And a related question:
Hi! im working with 4k footage and my laptop can hardly keep up, i used to create proxies for this types of files but now, encoder does not work AT ALL. As soon as i hit the button to start rendering the program just crashes. This happens whether i open encoder from premier or in its own. Both premiere and encoder are up to date. It is extremely frustrating and destroying my workflow
Hello Adobe Community, I have been watching a fair bit of streams online, and have been recording them with a software called Streamlink. This will output the stream to a .ts file, which I would then transcode to a .mp4 and .mp3 file. However, there is an issue. When I import the stream into Media Encoder, it takes 1-2 minutes, and then when I try to export to mp4, it outputs a blank file as seen below. Additionally, when I click to see the output settings, It shows that the video is 0 seconds long, when it is about 1 hour long. It also shows a black preview screen.I feel like it has to do with the filesize, since these files can be upwards of 2gb each. However my PC has no problem importing other types of files much larger than this one. So it has to do with the MPEG-2 implementation in this product
I'm converting an AVI to MP4. I want it to be exactly the same in quality, format, scale etc. I have it set to H.264, with a preset of Match Source- High Bitrate. When it converts the video it is zoomed in and distorted. The output preview shows the entire file and it looks like the original. What are the proper settings to have it duplicate the file exactly?
I just downloaded after effects for the 1 month trial and when I want to export a project using Adobe media encoder 2020 , the app just freezes. I don't want to continue with the trial if I can't use this to export anything
I stopped using AME a couple of months ago when all my projects would fail, and would export my projects through render queue, but with the file it keeps crashing upon export. When I press queue to AME, it opens up but nothing shows up to the queue. Then I tried clicking file and add after effects composition and got this error. Obviously I have after effects downloaded on my computer, but i need help connecting it to AME, if you know a fix please let me know. Thanks !
I've been trying to export an AE comp for the last couple of hours but I keep getting the "-1609629695" error. I've tried many things such as updating both AE and AME; checking if there's any corrupt file at the encoding time given (seem's like there isn't but I'm not entirely sure); changing the renderer to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only"; changing the project's name, as well as the comp's name; and many other things. Nothing has worked so far Could someone please try helping me? thanks a lot in advanced
Hi all, Iv been having on going issues with Media Encoder over the last few weeks. As of the beginning of this week though it seemed like everything was working again up until today when I have a deadline due (Murphys Law) I have been rendering this project for 2 hours and now it is hanging on 6 minutes left and no longer rendering. Im dreading to stop the render and try to rerender another 2 hours and it happens again? Has anyone figured this out? Please help, Media Encoder has really become the problem child of the Adobe apps UPDATE: So out of interest I decided to render the same project natively in After Effects and turns out, it rendered an hour faster and was successful as an mov. My faith in Media Encoder is declining rapidly.
given a video from canon dslr encoded to MP4/MOV H.264 4:2:0 (Full Range),why is it that after warp-stabilizing it in ae,media encoder will encode it back to h264 - at 10x smaller filesize for default bitrate- at 2x smaller filesize at maximum bitrate?
Is there any way to convince AME to preserve CC data in files when converting? I work at a TV station and I need to occasionally flip shows and commercials from whatever format they come in to MPEG2, but I can't seem to get AME to preserve the CC text streams in the files. Currently I have a watch folder set up and I just drop whatever needs flipping into that and let AME do it's job with a specific preset I've made to best match our play-out system. I'm using 2017 and 2018 with the same results.
Hello,I am very new to this but I keep having the same problem that I can't seem to fix. I'm encoding a 15 minute video on a Windows 10 laptop from After effects. the video encodes for a few hours but always freezes on the same frame. I've tried H.264 and DNxHR HQ. the media Cache and media database are on different hard drives. again, I'm very new to this and not sure what information is needed or what i'm doing wrong. I would be greatly appreciative for any kind of help! Thanks so much!
I am trying to export to the below specs but I cant seem to get all of the options. Is it even possible with Adobe Media encoder to export to this exact spec? Please, any help appretiated. Bit of a bind. Thank you!
Hello, I'm trying to transcode proxies for some red raw clips, and I'd like each of the proxies to live in the individual Red Raw clip folders. If I try and batch export all the clips from Premiere to make these transcodes, Media Encoder is trying to send all these output files to a single specific folder. I can't find any way to tell Media Encoder to just transcode each clip to the "Source folder", IE the clip folders they are coming from. Obviously I could go to each clip and specify the output destination one at a time, but with hundreds of clips in my project, this seems less than ideal 🙂 Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
Hi.I used a media encoder to render the after effects video. But every time I run rendering my Mac shuts down. Reboot without notice.I use an iMac. I thought the iMac computer was the problem. However, I had the same problem when using my other iMac.My Mac is the latest version of Catalina. The Adobe program is also genuine and uses the latest version. How do I fix this?
Opravte tuto chybu. Ničí váš iMac a je to ztráta času.
Hi there, I was wondering if it is possible to set up an universal "Preset" folder on a network drive for example. As the folder is located in User\Documents\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\"version"\Presets we always have to copy a new created preset into all the other users folder on every single machine. It would be awesome to have a network based folder where the presets can be loaded into and Premiere and Media Encoder would have access to directly. Is that possible? Best regardsYoshi
Trying to remember what all the different compressed codecs that support "proper" alpha (I.e., alpha is baked in, not a double up separated alpha channel) and are supported in AME.If memory serves me:PNG+A image sequenceTIFF+A image sequenceAPR 4444+A 16 bitsHAP+Alpha Releases · Vidvox/hap-qt-codec · GitHub Apple Animation 8 bitsI am looking for a codec that is compressed but isn't as clunky as HAP+Alpha.I remember reading something about HEVC / h265 supporting alpha but I'm not finding documentation on that anywhere.
In Media Encoder, when I'm attempting to configure a preset to automatically publish to Vimeo upon encode, I click on the button to "login," and the web page that loads seems to lack formatting. If I scroll down to find the login fields, and attempt to log in regardless, I receive an error that my form session expired, despite that I just opened the window. I've had this problem on another computer with a different version of the application. I'm currently on a 2016 Mac Pro OSX 10.11.6. AME v 2017.1, build 11.1.0.107. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? Thanks!

I'm new to adobe so I don't know much about it. I created this edit on after effects and then added it to adobe media encoder. It renders for a bit but then all of a sudden stops. I tried rendering other projects and they render fine. I've also tried rendering directly from after effects but it also fails at the same point
LG Ralf
Hi all,I've never had any trouble with AME before, but suddenly my PP project won't render all the way through and I'm not sure what the problem would be. The weird thing is that I can "export media" from PP to AME just fine, choose "Match source - High Bit rate" and it starts rendering. But around 1/3 - 1/2 the way through, it just stops and the resulting file is unplayable. Weirdly, there is no error message or error log, and the usual blue link to the finished file is greyed out. The sequence has been rendering fine until today. I made quite a few changes since my last render, so I'm really not sure what the culprit would be...it's all "more of the same" that I've been doing, nothing really new or different.Any ideas what I can do to troubleshoot?System infoWindows 10 pro (latest update), 32 gb RAM, i7-3770 3.40GHz, cache on an ssd (separate from OS drive), NVIDIA GTX1060 with 6 gb ram, source files on a fast RAID,Premiere Pro version 14.1.0 build 116Thanks!Lori
I have a complex motion graphic on my timeline. When I send to Media Encoder, I get an error window saying the motion graphic is not there and will show media offline instead (something like that.) When I stay in PPro for export, the graphic stays online. But I need to use ME because I have a lot of these episodes with this motion graphic to render out (its the show open) and turn over to the client on a very tight deadline. I need to either be editing while ME works in the background or sleeping. I've tried a tone of troubleshooting tricks but none have worked. I updated AE and AME just recently, to AE 17.1.0, and AME 14.2. Now if I Queue the render in AME, from AE, it opens AME just fine, and the project shows up in the list, but it won't render, and I can't connect through Dynamic Link to change any of the export settings. I can click the arrows to change the file type and Presets, and can change the output file name. But when I click the Preset name, it stays on the Dynamic Link Connection window, saying "Connecting to project". If I just try to click Play to start the render, nothing happens. The Output Preview at the bottom doesn't show anything. That whole part of the window is blank/gray. I can "stop" the render, even though it doesn't seem it ever started, but after that, I can't delete the project from the Queue. I have to close AME and reopen it to clear the queue. I've downgraded AME to 14.1 and then to 14.0.4. Neither of them worked. I didn't downgrade AE, yet.
