I am fully aware that Adobe does not "officially" support Media Encoder scripting through ExtendScript in the way they do for most of the other applications. But it is possible:https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2170163/is-adobe-media-encoder-scriptable-with-extendscriptHowever, it only seems that the script can be run by opening up the ExtendScript Toolkit and manually clicking the green arrow which causes the script to run.Naturally, this is far from ideal. For other Adobe applications, such as After Effects, the script can be run from command line in the following fashion: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\Support Files\afterfx.exe" -r "script/path/here.jsx"(See here for a reference: Run .jsx File From Command Line Windows )However, when trying the same thing for Adobe Media Encoder (replacing it with the appropriate path), no such luck. Although the Media Encoder window becomes active, the script does not run.Another thou
So this new Premiere update has me seriously stressed out! I seriously need help. You apparently can't save over an old version of a video anymore. Is anyone else having this problem? In premiere pro, I always export via media encoder, but the new version, adds a number at the end of the filename, despite if you select yes in Premiere when it asks if you want to replace the file. I unchecked the option in Media Encoder to add a number if the file has the same name and now Media Encoder won't work at all. It gives me an error saying it couldn't overwrite the file. In the 14 years of using this software, I have never had this problem. Ever. Media encoder used to ask you if you wanted to replace a file or it would just overwrite it if you selected replace in premiere. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have to turn in a few videos for a client today.
Hi All,Very weird situation - If my MacBook Pro 2016 - latest Mojave, AMD Radeon Pro 455 - enters into screen saver mode while AME is rendering something, it goes to a crawl, multiplying the render time by a factor of 10x to 30x. Instead of rendering in 6 hours for a 1h25min video - with Neat noise reduction on several shots - it goes into 180 hours. Problem with my computer screen saver config? I don't think so, because AME 2018 was just doing fine with that. Started the 6-houring render by 11pm, went to sleep, and in the morning everything was just there. Now with AME 2019, start the render, it works for 30 min fine, then the screen saver kicks in, and it just slows down to a factor of 30. Disable my screen saver? I can't, it's a corporate profile that is set enforcing the screen saver.Problem with my corporate profile? No.... AME 2018 was fine with that as well.Any suggestions?!A side note: this is very frustrating. We just went out of a huge issue with AME 2018 (solved just 2 month
Merci beaucoup,Martin

Does anyone have experience using an aws remote desktop as a renderfarm and what drivers have you used?Does the tesla t4 driver work with adobe media encoder because the GPU isnt getting used on rendering?Any help greatly appreciated.
hi,honestley i'm really frustraited.after last updates, after effects and media encoder (when exporting from ae) are SO SLOW and buggy. same project that i rendered last week, now takes me x50 more times for encoding..!I saw in Media encoder log file this lines many time, any idea?"Ticks = 49891 <12396> <Intel Encoder> <5> Intel Hardware Encoding not availableTicks = 1670922 <17284> <dvacore.StructuredLogging> <4> We have timed out on an async source. I am trying to export a H.264 file on my Macbook Pro M1 Max. The faces are glitching throughout the export - eyes shifting position, teeth frozen for few frames - etc. turning off hardware encoding does not help. Changing from VBR 2 pass to CBR does not help as well. All my applications are current. my Mac OS is 12.2.1.
Hi,with the new version of media encoder i don't have the hardware acceleration with h246 and h265.If i export from premiere no problem.I've tried with intel and M1. Same. Also you?
Hi,Suddenly AME won't load AE's comps to render them, and I can't even drag and drop a file over it to render it. I can't contact the Adobe Contact US page because it's asking me to log in when I'm already logged in, AND they say I have a billing issue when I don't, my subscription have been paid like every month. I'm going crazy over here does anyone have an idea what's going on ?
I work as a video-editor and finally got a decent (overkill) workstation. Now when I render out my videos, I see my hardware is hardly being used. Both CPU and GPU are running around 5-6% when rendering.I know the PC is overkill but I expected a little more sweat or burning plastic while rendering my videos.I have CUDA enabled. Is there a way so that media encoder uses a bit more resources than it does right now? Specs: Ryzen Threadripper 3970x RTX 2080ti128 GB RAM
Media Encoder> the desktop programm's font size is quite small, I would like, if one has the option to enlarge the App's fonts inside Media Encoder Preferences > Appearance > Font Size.
When i try to encode a MXF file, i get the a warning sign saying "File encoded with warning".The encoded file have 0 bytes.. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
So, I have some MXF files in SLOG 3 on my computer (windows 10 64 bit). I am dragging them directly into Media Encoder. Please note I am NOT using Premiere. I am simply trying to reduce the files sizes. But when I drag the clip from my computer and into Media Encoder, ME is adding a LUT to the footage. Why is this happening? I need them to stay as they are shot... in LOG. I even went so far as to delete all LUTs out of ALL adobe folders. YES, even in the Commons folder. In the photo attached you'll see the original on the right and then what happens when imported into ME on the left. Is there a way to stop Media Encoder from adding a lut? PLEASE HELP!!
I'm encoding a very large video. 8 hours at 4K with several video layers and some effects. I do this every week and it usually takes about 36 hours to encode. This week the original qoute from Media Encoder was 32 hours (it usually takes a lot less time than ME predicts) and it powered through about 40% of the encode in the first 12 hours. I could hear my machine roaring along as always. The next morning I noticed my machine was quiet and thought it had finished but when I checked it wasn't even at 50% yet and in the last 24 hours has only gotten about 5% further. The video is 30 minute loop and all the effects are constant throughout so it's not like the content required heavier encoding part way in. Activity Monitor shows that 83% of my CPU is idle and 75gigs of my RAM is being used. Why did my encode slow to a trickle after the first 12 or so hours? As you can see on the fps tab theres no 240fps option, which I find a bit funny as 300 exists, how do I export in 240fps?

Dear Adobe and readers,For several weeks, I've been coping with inconsistent and unexpected render errors using Adobe Media Encoder to render After Effects Compositions. The error code: -1609629695 seems unfindable, searched high and low, without succes. Most annoying part is, sometimes it works flawlessly for 2 days straight, sometimes it stops working mid-day, sometimes a reboot helps for a short time, or a flush of the ame pref-folders.What DOES work:- Rendering premiere sequences through AME (as long as it doesn't have .aep files in the sequence)- Rendering directly from After Effects- Converting .mov files to h.264 through AME (been my workaround)I have a daily average of about 50+ renders through Media Encoder, so it's really grinding my gears. I tried all of these things already:- update GPU- Disable GPU- Other Filepath (Desktop, HDD, SSD, Dropbox folders, Documents)- Other codec (Several HEVC and Quiktime Codecs)- Roll-back AME (tried 5 versions)- Roll-back AE (tried 5
Good afternoon, I recently had my fancy "all the bells and whistles" computer stolen out of my car in the city of angels. Now I'm working with a windows 8.1 pro equipped acer aspire v with 4 gigs ram and very little bells and whistles. I'm working on a 15-20 minute project which consists of panasonic p2 or more specifically dvcprohd 720p 60. I normally export videos of the sort as .mp4 -> h.264 with a medium or high bit rate. Took a long time to export on my old computer. and now I have to export it on my new, less equipped computer. I've exported videos in the 2 minute range before and it took upwards of 5-15 minutes. This brings me to a few questions.1. what would you suggest i do? I can't really transcode that much because that brings me back to spending a lot more time than i should be. 2. I've been doing research on codecs and what not. I already know .mp4 is the greatest of all time format for youtube but in doing research i think a different format would help
Hi there,Is it possible to export a WebM video in VP9 with a transparent background from AME?I have tried a few things and can't seem to get the alpha channel included in the export. AME Version: 22.4 (Build 53) on Windows 10 Methods i have tried: Importing PNG sequence and export Webm VP9 - exports webm but no alpha channelConverting MOV to webm vp9 - same result, exports but no alpha Non AME approach:I managed to use FFMPEG in GITBash (command line) to stitch the png sequence together and export a webm vp9 with alpha and it worked fine — but it would be much easier for my team to be able to just use Media Encoder for the process of making small looping videos with transparency for websites.Im wondering now if this is even possible in AME.
So frustrating! I am up to date with both character animator and media encoder. I spent all this time creating a scene and now it won't export! What is the issue?
