Thanks. I've not been using the app since the change to the preview system. As mentioned, Lightroom works in what I would consider the "right" way, with a 1:1 pixel preview of changes at the current zoom level and incorporating cropping. I'm running Android version: 9 (Nokia 8), Photoshop Express version: 11.9.206. I'll emphasise that the issue is that that compare feature ignores the current crop and zoom level and switches to display to the original image at a "fit to screen" zoom level, which was not the behaviour of earlier versions, that maintained the current view and simply disabled all edits for a 1:1 comparison. NOTE ALSO that Adobe Lightroom (mobile) still operates in what I would deem the "correct" way, so now the compare (before/after) behaviour of Lightroom and Express are different.  ... View more

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one seriously irked by this change. This makes the app almost useless to me - you can't compare the effects of fine detail changes (think about sharpening/clarity) and the visual jarring of of switching between a zoomed in view and a full view (of the uncropped image) makes any edit comparison impossible. PLEASE ADOBE either revert to the previous system where you retain the current view setting for before/after comparisons or at least add a "Settings" switch to allow us to select the mode (if other people have some reason for a non 1:1 comparison...not that I can imagine the usage case).  I'm tearing my hair out, and there's not much left of that... ... I haven't tried it on Windows 10 yet - my main workstation is still Win 7 Pro.  I'm loathe to "reset preferences", which seems to be the cop-out suggestion for any Photoshop bug. I'm not trying to be bitchy, maybe it is the solution, but in the past I've had that suggested many times, then found that the next PShop update fixed the problem - i.e. it was an actual bug rather than preferences corruption. Certainly it could be some combination of preferences or a preferences corruption, but it was working sweetly in prior versions (not sure how far back as I skipped an update or two). It's not the only bug I've been getting in 21.2.4, with some odd redraw behaviour when using rectangular marquee selections.  I might add that I'm using a Wacom tablet (I don't have a mouse to test with) - Wacom use does tend to throw up some odd bugs with Adobe apps that aren't apparant with relative devices. ... Adding to this - a worse problem is that the eyedropper operation works immediately on the document you attempt to sample a colour from. If the current layer on that document is a text layer, the text colour becomes the colour you sample. i.e. working on document #1 you choose the eyedropper tool and click on a pixel on document #2 to set that colour as your current colour. Document #2 then becomes the focus (the current document), and if a text layer is the default layer then that text is recoloured to the sample colour. Freakin' driving me crazee.... ... View more

I've still got this problem in 21.2.4 with RECTANGULAR selections. If I select a portion of an image with a rectangular marquee and duplicate/move it (CTRL-ALT-move) then I don't get a proper display refresh until I release the the wacom pen button. However, if I make an irregular selection (with lasso tool) it works fine - with the image constantly refreshing as I move the copy around. I've got display update issues but haven't tested in details, I'm reverting to an older version of Photoshop as I've got a deadline to deliver in a couple of hours. I was trying to edit adjustment layers but the results were not being displayed correctly. Reducing saturation in a hue/sat adjusment layer had the opposite effect - increasing saturation. Turning off/on visibility of the the layers affected updated to the correct result - i.e. I'm not getting real-time updates to adjustments. I was getting this on both my Win 7 Pro and Win 10 Pro installations. Painting on mask layers was also displaying the result as in large rectangular blocks, again not displaying the masking correctly until I switch off/on the visibility of the layers affected. To wrap this issue up: It wasn't a functionality bug, it was a keyboard shortcut issue, fixed in the latest update from Adobe (as at 20/03/2020). Previously, using the ALT-CTRL (-/+) zooming keys would resize the window even if "resize window to fit" was switched OFF - i.e. it was an override key combination.  I thought the issue was related to Win 10 vs Win 7 but perhaps it was digitiser-related instead, as Adobe's release notes for the latest update say: "...fixes to using keyboard shortcuts with drawing tablets ...".  I can't confirm if this issue was also a problem on the Fruit Computer, but if you've noticed it on Mac then maybe grab the latest update.   cheers'n'beers and thanks for peeps responses/suggestions, Andy Q. ... Haven't tried that as yet, I'm loathe to lose my preferences unless that's definitely going to be a fix. The zooming was working fine this morning, I updated Photoshop then restarted it and immediately noticed the problem. No other variable on my system was changed in this timespan so it's 99% certain that the update procedure was the cause of the changed behaviour. I've toggled the checkbox a few times, even rebooted the system, to no avail. I'll wait and see if anyone comes up with any other suggestions but failing that I'll give the preferences reset a go. ... View more

There seems no other way to have a form field in a table, and tables are the ideal container for form fields and constructing layouts, and obviously essential for spreadsheet-like layouts in which some cells should be user input. I get exactly the same problem. It appears if you set up a table and create the form fields in cells then the tab order reflects the order of creation. You can also see the names of the fields in the "tab order" dialogue. But if any changes are made, even moving th table to another page or having it split over pages and the order gets screwed and some fields are lost forever in the "tab order" system. This applies NOT ONLY to table cell fields, but also fields that are in frames that  are nested in other frames. It seems any kind of layout structure messes up Indesign's ability to track the form fields - you have to just have them placed on the page "manually" without any flow-control structure. I've not done thorough testing but I've recently knocked out a few documents with multipage tables containing form fields (an order form, with product details and a user-filled "quantity" column) ... It's an extension of the topic; I was looking for scripting abilities (for totalling amounts on order forms), but it was on this quest that I discovered how limited Indesigns support for PDF forms is. You may say "no professional relies on one tool', and I have more software apps than you can imagine; however it's quite reasonable to expect what I'm requesting here. Editing the output in a second app with no "round-trip" capability is just a hack. Imagine if Indesign only supported RGB colour? Or only measurements in inches? There is a logical need for an integrated tool that can handle complex graphic layout and publishing with interactivity, and Adobe have all the technology and resources to achieve this.  ... This is ridiculous, there has got to be a need for a sophisticated design package that can output complex forms with all formatting and coding in place so the original can be edited easily. Adobe have done sweet-FA on forms support in Indesign. You can add fields but that's just about it. They now let you define the font for a text field, but you have to do it on a per-field basis, you can't apply attributes to multiple fields at the same time. Editing form fields in Acrobat is obviously a terrible way of doing things - what client isn't going to change things? This is all becoming apparant to me at the moment because I've got a job making promotional brochures that contain order forms. These are knocked out on a monthly basis, but undergo numerous edits before publication. They contain lots of graphics and layout complexity around the form areas so some sort of layout package is required. Frankly, I'm surprised by the lack of support as I would have thought Adobe wants to encourage PDF usage for business applications, and encourage sales of their products as part of that workflow. ... Yep, on Windows 2020 as well, this is s**ting me considerably; I setup guides on packaging artwork to define cropping regions and now I have to lock them first or draw a crop box within the guides then resize it to snap...just more work and f'ing around. Another general bug related to this is that you can accidently move guides with other edit operations, like trying to edit vector objects, and you can't "undo" the guide move, it's not registered in the history, it's part of whatever other operation was being performed when the guide was picked up and repositioned. Something weird like that....anyway, it means having to lock guides a lot more often than I'd like to....lock, unlock, lock, unlock....blah! ... View more
