I hate this kind of thing sooo much It will burn up half a day because of some little oversite on my part. I knpw I have usesd the Transform tool many times and with relative aease and straightfordness. Using the shortcut key "E" and clicking on a node /corner of the bounding box and holding down the "Ctrl" key I can distort the object with ease. Only now I find I can't get it to work. It won't take . soon as I let go of the mouse or Ctrl key or both it returns to it's original shape.   I know I have used this tool many, many, many times with no problem. OK this is new. I'm testing some tecniques for building custome textures in Photoshop and I went to create some text.  OK first things first. I'm using Photoshop CS6 installed locally on my desktop. The machine is a Intel core i7 with 16GB of RAM. Svreenshot...   I know this has to be a stupid problem. I've been using Photoshop since version 4.0. I have only recently learned to work with Illustrator CS6. I love Illustrator. All those years I had used Corel for my drawing program and Photoshop to manipulate and refine those images. Learning Illustrator I pretty much stopped using Photoshop. I am now having really stupid problems. It's almost like I've never used Photoshop before. I can only guess it's because of Adobe's changes and improvements to the program i.e. expanding the use and range of the various tools and modes etc. One of the first problems I ran into was not being able to select things with the "Magic Wand" tool. Some issue with the Layer type. So if I right click the layer and select Rasterize Layer the Magic Wand will now select stuff . Up until now this had always been the default state of the program. Never had to chase down layer issues. The Magic Wand tool had always just worked right out of the box. just click/select the tool then click something it would make a selection according to the tolerance you give it.   I really don't understand what's up with that. Have I changed some master setting or something?  My latest problem as of Now today is that the brush tool won't paint anything at 100% opacity. The "Pencil" tool does just fine but the "Brush" tool only gives me a translucent coverage. I have everything set to 100% but it will not give me a solid black stroke.   Does anyone have any thoughts on that one. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong.     Here's another image with the canvas zoomed in closer. This is another issue Giving  me trouble, The hand / pan tool doesn't seem to work so well. Like here I wanted to move the work area over so that it was better positioned to illustrate what I was trying to show. but I can't move the work area around unless I'm zoomed in very close.. I've just gotten so used to Illustrator where I can pan the work area around where ever I want. In fact in Illustrator I can pan the canvas completely off the screen so that I have to zoom way, way out to find my canvas. Here in Photoshop I can't move the canvas over to the left so it's not obscured by the pallets.   And yes I can just close the pallets. but I should be able to pan the screen over to accommodate the pallets. I first started using Photoshop with version 4.0and I've used every major version till now... CS6.   During all that time I had always used Corel as my drawing program and I was just too lazy to learn Illustrator. I finally learned to use Illustrator and I love it. best thing ever and I use it almost exclusivly. This has given me a really stupid problem. It's almost as though I've forgoten how to use Photoshop.     I've recently run into a problem I've never had before. I can't select things with the magic Wand tool. I get the error...   Could not use the Magic Wand tool because the target is a fill layer"  and the toll is Xed out. What am I missing. No doubt this is something new to newer versions??? ... First thinga first, I'm using Illustrator cs6 installed locally on my desktop. It's a Windows7 machine with 16 GB RAM and a 3.4 GH intel i7 processor.   This is driving me crazy. Illustrator is constantly unable to unlock layers or make visible  / invisible. I'm working on an image that has many objects in it with many layers / sublayers.  As I'm working on the image I am constantly having to navigate back and forth between the layers turning things on & off. This is of course, a given. What shouldn't be a given, is constantly having to figure out what is locking up my layer or layers keeping me from unlocking it or turning its visibility off or on ...   Needless to say, with an image that has 50 or 100 layers / sublayers ??  This can eat up a lot of time from my day and in some / far too many cases, It eats up  significant blocks of time wasted on one single move,  5, 10 minutes just trying to turn off or unlock layers that are obscuring my view of a lower layer just so I can work on that lower  layer.   Surely there must be some way to stop this from happening or at least finding any and all layers that are locked  i.e.  sublayers etc, etc...  And before anyone suggest this ... "Unlock All" doesn't work so much. In fact it's mostly kind of pointless.   I would think that any software that cost what Illustrator does should work better than this . Either that or I'm missing something stupidly obvious.  Surely there must be some way to quickly and simply unlock everything and not have to go digging through dozens and dozens of layers in search of the mystery layer that has everything locked up. That's keeping me from unlocking lower layers.   Can anyone help me with this? What am I missing? ... View more

I did an Image Trace  using "High Fidelity Photo" I want to toggle the visibility of all the layers, Rather than scrolling through 1 or 2 thousand of them. BTW I'm using CS6 local install, (an early version) ... View more

I don't know if maybe I'm just missing something or what. The hand tool in Illustrator works great I left click and drag the image /work and I can re-position the work where I need it. Not so in Photoshop. When I left click on the work area It immediately jumps to a different position on the work and zooms in Pretty much impossible to use. In Illustrator I can left click and drag the image to where I want it and then hold the Alt key and roll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out as needed. great. very straight forward and simple to use. Why doesn't Photoshop work like this? Is there some setting I'm missing? ... View more

I've installed a new font but Illustrator isn't seeing it. It shows up in MS Word. It's a true type font but Illustrator sees lots of other TT fonts. Does anyone know whats going on ? ... View more

OK, so I just did an "Image Trace" on a jpg of a truck. It was a reasonably simple image. Not a photograph. I set the trace to 16 colors and it gave me 1,234 paths / layers. Needless to say that's a nightmare to try and manage. Is there some way to simplify the management of this many layers? So far I've been trying to group the objects into colors or component groups such as tires / black & gray or body parts / blues, greens etc. but it's still a monster of a challenge to manage or to even work with.
