Noticed lately that after editing an image in Photohop, that when I later click on the image thumbnail in Lightroom Classic that the original image pops up for a fraction of a secong before displaying the edited image. Wondering why it is doing this and if there is a way to "rasterize" or lock changes so that the edited image is the one and only image in existance going forward.

Although this is not the ideal solution, I found that Lightroom will send the image to whichever version of Photoshop is open even though it says Photoshop 2023.

Update. After I posted this, I received an notification from Creative Cloud that I had a new update for Photoshop beta for the generative fill. Problem solved.

It's that second part that is the kicker. If you only uncheck the option and exit Photoshop and go back in. The Home screen will still be there. Maybe Adobe should review this so that it works as expected without the detour. Thanks Dave.

As it turns out, I had some selective masking applied from a previous edit. This became obvious after inspecting the history. I performed a reset on the image and applied the b&w treatment again with the desired results. Thank you all for your responses.

I recently converted a colour image to b&w in Lightroom and for some reason parts of the image preserved some of its colour. Transfering the same image to Photoshop and changing the mode to greyscale corrects the problem. I have never experienced this issue in Lightroom before. Any recommendations?

I had the same issue but in my case the scroll with mouse option was checked. When I unchecked it, the zoom wheel now worked! Does anyone have any explanation for this strange behaviour?

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain myself correctly. Where I'm showing a check mark next to the color name, I should see a small colour swatch of the same colour as the name, NOT a check mark. Is this an option that can be turned on? Or is that a Mac feature only?

When tagging a layer with one of the seven color options, I don't see the small color swatch next to the color name. I can assign a color to the layer no problem but just wondering why the color swatches don't appear as I've seen in numurous Youtube videos. I checked the preferences but can't seem to find an option to turn on or off. I'm using the latest Photoshop version on Windows 10.

Would like to know if there is a way to determine the CROPPED image size before exporting. E.g. I have an image that is 19.1MB (EXIF). However, I cropped the image such that when exported as a JPG it drops to 1.9MB. Thank you.

Underlying issue was with my user account in my newly reinstalled Windows 10 did NOT have administrator privileges. Launching Lightroom with administrator privileges solved all my problems. Now I need to make my user id run as administrator permanently.

Tried copying the file manually and as it turns out, I did not have administrator privileges as suspected. This is obviously the result of my reinstalling Windows 10 recently. I thus right-clicked and ran Lightroom with "Run as administrator" and WAS able to successfully import my images to the destination drive as before. Now I need to figure out how to make my day-to-day user login run as an administrator going forward. Followed the procedure found here: How to enable the hidden Windows 10 administrator account - gHacks Tech News and restarted Windows. However, Windows still sees me as not having administrator privileges. Any further suggestions would be appreciated!

No I did not. Just tried it and same results. Just to clarify that I only the error message after I click on the small “x” that appears to the right of the progress bar. Lightroom says “importing” but without actually download no anything. Sent from my iPad

Does the Catalog show the Preview with the 'missing' icon [ ! ] ? NO Does it exist? Can you locate it in Windows File Explorer? YES Can you Right-click the photo in the Lr library grid and choose [Show in Explorer] ? YES When found, can you check the Properties/Attributes of the photo file and its containing folder? (It cannot be checked as Read-Only or Hidden) EXCEPT FOR USER EVERYONE, THE PERMISSIONS ARE FULL INCLUDING WRITE. You might also check the "Additional External Editor" presets in the Preferences dialog to see if the ON1 Preset has the wrong location for the ON1 software .exe file. Or re-install the "plug-in". REINSTALLED PLUGIN WITH SAME RESULTS. ALSO, UNDER LIGHTROOM'S PLUGIN MANAGER, ALL ON1 PLUGIN MODULES ARE SHOWN AS INSTALLED AND RUNNING WITH A GREEN LIGHT. ON1 PLUGIN WORKING FINE IN PHOTOSHOP. Your other question also sounds like a Read/Write permissions problem, if you cannot save photos to the drive specified as the Destination

I just did a fresh install of Lightroom as I had to replace my main drive (C). Version # is 7.5 and Camera Raw is 10.5. Camera is Canon 7D mk 2. Never had a problem like this in years of using Lightroom. Another contributor suggested changing the drive letter of my external drive as that could make a difference. I seem to recall that the drive's letter was set to G prior to reinstall. Renamed drive letter to G and it did not help. Actually making things worse even after I relinked my main photo folder to the renamed drive.

Recently had to reinstall Windows 10 and thus all applications including Lightroom CC and ON1 Photo 10 suite. When I try to send an image to edit in any of the ON1 modules by right-clicking on the image I get the following message. "Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at F:\Photos\.......\IMG_0014.CR2 for editing. It will not be opened." I receive a similar message when I try to open via the FILE...PLUGIN-EXTRAS menu option which says "AgNegative:renderToFile:<AgErrorID>dng_error_write_file</AgErrorID>" . Accessing the plugin from Photoshop CC works fine. Please see my other post relating to the inability to import new photos. I suspect these two issues are related.

Started getting this message after reinstalling Windows 10 and having to reinstall all of my software including Lightroom CC. I'm trying to import from a SD card onto my external drive which I've been using to store all of my photos for years. Prior to reinstalling Windows, I have backed up my catalog then after the reinstall, restored the catalog in the default location. All seemed fine until I tried to do my first import since the reinstall. Any help would be appreciated.

It is actually simpler than this. Go to MANAGE ACCOUNT. Then choose MANAGE PLAN. Then pick SWITCH PLAN and scroll right through the entire list of plans. The cheapest (Photography Plan) is the last option. To finalize, simply click CHOOSE THIS PLAN and the rest is automatic.
If you have subscription left, it will issue a credit to your credit card. It will also make changes to your fonts if necessary.
Only thing I haven't figured out at this point is what happens to the apps that I'm no longer subscribed to that are installed on my computer.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I can confirm that the preset(s) are deleted from my system (Windows 10). However, the dropdown menu entries linger. Also, the presets from the version 9 suite are selectable in the ADDITIONAL EXTERNAL EDITOR dropdown. On Windows, the option to delete the preset is not down in the same manner.

Deleted and disabled my old ON1 Perfect 9 suite plugins. While they no longer appear anywhere else, they still show up in the drop down menu when I right-click an image. How to I get rid of them? Thanks.
