A few employees have reported problems when opening some documents. 2018.011.20055 version shows "The root object is missing or invalid" error. A bit older 20035 version shows "There was a problem reading this document (14)". But i can open such document with Chrome and even older Reader XI version or Acrobat 9 version. So, it seems there is some problem with a document, but recent Reader versions are more affected by this and can't open it. Is there any way to avoid this, maybe some update can make Reader more accepting/ignore such errors. They seem like a minor thing as document looks perfect in Chrome or Reader XI. I can't share any document as they are private and i'm not able to reproduce it myself with some test document. Last document that i saw has "Merged" in its name. It looks like a few paper documents were scanned and then separate pdfs merged with some tool into one piece. Probably that tool does something incorrectly when merging.

We are using the latest Adobe Reader DC Continuous version. If a user opens a document with comments by other user, his comments for now one use that other user's Author name. So he has to change it by changing Author name (and possibly making it as default). I don't see such issue with older version, like XI.

I was using older version of Adobe Reader DC Continuous (2015.something) and haven't had such issue. But i have since updated to the latest 2017.x version and also wiped out all my previous settings from the registry. And now when i first opened PDF document it notified me about my PC having "screen reader" or something and now it prepares every document for it. If the document is big it takes veeeeery long time before i can actually do something with the document. I can't seem to find a way to disable it for good. I have compared a few installations of AR DC and their settings side by side and disabled everything on my PC, but it again informed me about that mysterious screen reader and i only could press OK (i think) in that window, no way to "Don't ask again and disable", so it again annoys me with that Preparing phase for every PDF document.

It's not just MSI. For me most of the links do not work on that page (MSI, EXE, some DMG, RPM, etc.). Though i mostly care about MSI and EXE.

After some testing i have actually found out that this only happens with some pdfs, and other pdfs open automatically with Adobe Reader. So it is probably some problem with those pdfs or Android not liking something in their names.

Using 16.3 currently. For some reason it is not a default app to open pdfs (say from Downloaded folder). My tablet says it can't open a file (i have no other pdf viewer installed, even google one is removed). I see no option to make Adobe Reader a default.

Actually it has loaded on the third try, although very slowly. I have now cleared Adobe cookies and it loaded normally. maybe it will work from now on.

Distribution page is still unavailable most of the times i try to check it. Getting Gateway Timeout error after 3-5 minutes of my browser trying to load it.

I don't see anything helpful in the first link. As i said i don't have Adobe ID account tied to this purchase, so i can't login and find serial numbers this way. All i have is a paper "Software License Certificate" and i don't know where should i put that info, so it would return me serials. Adobe 9 Standard and Pro Trial work on Windows 7, so it should be compatible.

We have purchased Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional back in 2008. I don't know what account was used to register it, or was there an account at all. The only thing i have is printed out Software License Certificate document. Which have Mac and Win serial numbers. I have downloaded Acrobat 9 Pro English-French-German installer and install it on Windows 7 Pro (En) x86. But it won't accept serial number from that document. What options do i have?

New versions posted today. Again the new distribution page takes ages to load. Then i just went to the old public page, which should've been decommissioned on March 1st and i was able to download new installers from there in a few seconds. And the new distribution page loaded only after 5 minutes. Laughable.

Again and again this page fails to load for me. A few days ago, now at this right moment. Adobe has just posted new security bulletin. I need to update Flash as soon as possible and distribution page is not loading. For God's sake, Adobe, DO SOMETHING! Yeah. But it still opens the Tools Pane after you uncheck that. So one actually has to hide the Tools Pane once, for it to remember not to show it again. From this point it won't show it for any other document. Good. I also see that Menu fonts are darker and readable now. There is no Updates section in the preferences. So i guess i have to disable scheduler task for Adobe Updater to get rid of update notifications (our users don't have admin permissions, so notifications are only a distraction). We have one app (VPN client) which only shows update notifications when you login with an administrator account. Which is a good practice (not annoying regular users).
