I agree--if you're happy with the result, stay with what you know. I use Word quite a bit and like it. I recently created a 24 page guide that looks as professional as anything I might create in InDesign.
If you are interested in learning InDesign, a lot of community colleges have classes and there are lots of online videos. I recommend getting a 30-day trial from LinkedIn Learning.

What are you missing? Proper training for one thing.
Word is a very good word processor that can do simple layouts. InDesign is a complex page-layout program. They are not meant to compete.

When you place your text into InDesign, it is no longer considered a "Word document". I was confused and thought you were linking to it.

Look at the Acrobat Actions. You will see an option to get More Actions (Web). You will need a file open to see this command. When you click on it, it will bring you to a website on acrobatusers.com. Scroll down and you will see an action to Remove First Page from Multiple Files. Be sure to read the description/warning.

I believe the zip compression was referring to TIFF files, which was what the OP was using and asking about.

I always use zip compression with TIFF files. Never leave home without it!
You can turn off the preference to save maximized files in Photoshop, although I don't know if it will affect files that already have been maximized. The default is "Ask". I also turned off no image previews, which saved a little more space.
I didn't see a preference for max. file compatibility, but one can check the "Don't show again" box to eliminate the message.
I normally don't run HQ display permanently, but I set my Typical display preferences to how vector art in HQ mode. When I want a HQ preview, Iturn on overprint prevew when I want it. Depending on the computer, I turn it off when done previewing.

Are downloads still available for earlier versions of FrameMaker, like 2019?
By @frameexpert
Rick--message me (or email me). I have an archive of a few older versions--some just FrameMaker and some the TCS.

Photoshop PDFs are mostly raster (pixel) images. They won't convert like other PDFs.

Until you can find the cause of the problem, you can set that under the Windows program properties so it does it automatically.

The manual is probably using JavaScript to pull data into existing form fields in a PDF. Not what I would call a "dynamic" but that's probably what they are referring to. If you google "javascript to populate pdf form fields" you will find some links to research.
For example:

If you need layer control, try saving the PSD file and turn off the Maximize option, you will get close to the TIFF size. InDesign will complain but it will place it (you can disable the ID warning). In a quick test, it didn't seem to affect the InDesign file size.
I only used a small file I had access to:
PSD: 7.5 MG
Unmaximized PSD: 5.8 MG
TIFF: 5.3 MG
I wouldn't do it everytime--just when you need layer control.

The second button from the left (the one selected) only wraps text around the frame. Click the third button over.
Also, the graphic needs to have an alpha channel (transparency in the background) or a clipping path--amd the text frame needs to extend to the bottom of the column (I can't tell from the image).

I assume nothing shows up when you use the Help>Check for Updates menu?
It's probably meaningless, but I have a _slightly_ new version.
Otherwise, can you upload a PDF? If it's not for public distribuition, click on my name and you can message me.

(When you say "Adobe", I assume you mean "Acrobat"? Adobe is the company that sells many different programs, Acrobat is the software.)

As far as this part of your statement goes--Office products have been able to save as PDF on their own since 2007.
Although I'm partial to Acrobat, google for PDF form creation software.
