One trick I have found that works at least for me a couple of times: I use the scroll wheel to scroll the disappearing text off the screen and then back onto the screen and it reappears and is editable.  By @keithconover I haven't had this issue but it sounds as if a screen redraw is working for you. For some reason, Adobe has been soooo slow with all Captivate updates. However, they mention it is not "written in stone" [7:55]. Of course, end of support does not mean the software will suddenly stop working--you just can't contact Adobe with problems. Luckily, the forums should still be around.   There will be a number of features that just won't translate to the new version. I suspect it will something like the HTML-only update where all the Flash-based features were no longer supported. Except in this case a _lot more_ features won't convert.    IMHO, it's a good thing that Articulate Storyline does not have responsive layouts and robust styles or Captivate (either version) would _really_ be in trouble. To clarify, your text threads need to be connected. Page 49 links all the way down to 87.  Numbering will pick up from un-threaded text frames, but ONLY after going through the current text thread.  You can either do a lot of cut-and-paste, or... Fix your Heading styles by giving them a unique List style (stay away from the "default" list style). Run the BreakTextThread script (Scripts panel>Community folder). Fix your threads as needed. Thanks, I wasn't sure what that link was so I was hesitant to click on it. Unfortunately, it works perfectly on my system. I still suspect the GPU. Go to the GPU manufacturer's website and see if the drivers need updating. Another option is to uninstall Illustrator and reinstall. Regardless, this post was about the history problem, not every problem with the new update. It's likely that the problems are from completely different parts of the code, so while related to the same upgrade, they are most likely separate issues. IMHO, table styles are very useful. Could they be better, of course--what couldn't?
