Hi, yes, I have done this and it is fine but very limiting. At this stage I would have thought a lot more flexibiity would be available in Captivate to be able to have a button in different states so that they can be use based on the need.

Hi, I cannot seem to find anywhere to make the Hot-spots invisible or reduce their opacity in order to have them as buttons in a VR slide but invisible so that users need to click around to hunt for the hot-spots. Is this possible?

I actually tried a different approach which also did not work as expected. I imported the XML file and tagged the Paragraph styles. Then I deleted every Child Node except the first one. I then opened up the Story Editor and formatted the Tags by removing some paragraph tags and adding a tab space between the 3 elements required. So in the Story Editor it looked correct and updated on the Page for the one Node. I then re imported the XML file hoping it would cascade and clone the same formatting but it removed it and imported everything with the basic structure. If there was a way to tell Indesign to use the Story Editor structure, it would have worked.

Hi, I have imported a lot of text using the XML import and it came in fine. Each of the Child Nodes contains 10 text items. Each of the text items has been assigned a Paragraph Style. I created a Paragraph Style for each of the elements and then assigned a Tag to the Paragraph Styles to format each of the leements in each XML child node. At the moment they are all aligned under each other. I would like 3 of the Paragraph style element to be side by side: Example at the moment they show on the page as: Paragraph Style 1 Paragraph Style 2 Paragraph Style 3 I would them to show as: Paragraph Style 1 - Paragraph Style 2 - Paragraph Style 3 With 3000 Child Nodes I would like to be able to set the formatting using Paragraph styles if possible so that the changes will cascade through the document. Is this possible? Cheers

I have to agree. I take a section of the audio that only contains the noise and choose Capture Noise Print. I then Select All and go to Noise Reduction and apply.... nothing happens. Using Audition CC 2018. I tried using the Sound Removal option and the voice then sounds like a Dalek...

Hi, I have been sent some Green screen footage of a person talking. The footage was adequately lit and shot and I can get an excellent key of the person. Unfortunately. the person speaking had some green in their tie and in the Alpha mask it shows as black dots in the tie area. There are only a few of them, but I can only remove them if I push the settings to the point where the outline of the person starts to deteriorate which I do not want to do. I feel there should be a way to almost "paint" into the alpha mask like you can do in photoshop in white to remove the dots. Is there a way to add to the mask?

Hi, I do a lot of voice narrations and voice overs for learning content. I use Audition mostly for this as the quality of the audio can be managed much better. The issue is that I have to use text files for the script and it is often a juggle to manage the recording and have the text file on the screen at the same time. It would be really useful if Audion could integrate a script/narration window within the interface so that reading the script and controlling the recording etc could be easier?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Up to the new version you could indeed change th Art board BG color without effectign the fill colors of objects. I have been using the method for years without issue until now, hence my query about it. I believe it is a change in the update that caused it.

Hi, thanks for the clarification, I know I wasn't going crazy as I have been using the method almost everyday for years. I am sure it is a bug as it has worked flawlessly. I reopened some files that had white icons only and they too have now turned the same bg color of the art board. It only applies to pure white #FFFFFF though.

Hi, thanks for the response. In the Attributes Panel Overprint Fill is not selected. I have attached a screenshot to show the issue. The circle has a black stroke and a white file but the White is the same as the Artboard color.

Hi, Up to now, if I am creating icons etc and they have to be in white, I normally change the Art-board color in Document Setup to a shade of grey so the white icons stand out. Now with the latest upgrade to Illustrator CC when I do the same thing, all white fills are now the same shade of grey as the art board. If I change the fill to any other shade it is fine. Any ideas please?

I will be creating an E-learning course in captivate 8 where the test quizzes will be drawn from 8-10 Test question categories. Is it possible to provide feedback on how a user scored, not only overall, but also provide analytics showing how the user scored on each Category. For example, a user scored 80% overall, but they scored only 20% in Category A, 80% in Category B and 100% in Category C. Can this be done? Cheers

Hi, I have a PowerPoint which needs to be converted to a Responsive Design Project. I notice that when I create a new Responsive design project, the Import PowerPoint is greyed out. Is this normal? And, to add insult to injury, when you purchase a CS6 suite, you will get in the post a lamenated transparent envelope posted priority, with "Introducing the New Acrobat XI. PROBLEMS SOLVED!" as the title. I thought this would be a free upograde link, but no it is simply telling me where to buy the latest version. Also, there is no point putting in a feedback request to correct this issue as everyone knows, who has been dealing with Adobe for years, that Adobe do not and have never listened to individuals concerns. Adobe are only influenced by Corporate decisions and behind the scenes agreements. This always explains the strange changes to products over the years that have no value to individual users.

Hi, The is probably a daft question but I'll ask it anyway. I ran some tests recently as we are looking at saving the streams that go the FMS 4.5. We normally stream inhouse at 1500 kbps, so I wanted to see what kind of storage I would need if we were going to save the streams. I did a test @ 1500 kbps, 720 x 480 using h.264 and saved as an f4v file. I limited the duration to 1 minute to see what 1 minute of saved video would be. It turned out to be 10. MB's which surpised me, I expected it to be higher, as the quality was very high. I know megabytes and Megabits are different, but I still expected a higher file size. I calculated that at 1548 kbps * 60s = 92881 (+ 48 kbps Audio ) 92881 \ 1024 = 90.7 MB The file size was actually 10.2 MB. Is there a calculation I can use to work out the correct file size so that I can determine the Hard Drive sizes I need, or is it guesswork based on the H.264 codec?

thanks for the reply. I was not trying to write off Captivate at all to be honest, but I was simply trying to explain that Adobe took their eye off the ball for a while. I use the Master Suites, and I am considering the CS6 Master Suite, and then purchase Captivate CS6, if and when it meets my needs. I currently have Captivate CS5.5 as my main tool, but, I was pointing out that Storyline has jumped Captivate, for the moment

I have used Captivate since it first came out and it wa the first tool of choice for LMS Driven learning content. I have been playing with Articulate Storyline for the past few days since it was released and it had raised the bar completely. It seems Articulate listened to the Elearning community and provides a tool that meets and exceeds all expectations. My concern with a lot of Adobe applications and especially Captivate is that Adobe ( I feel ) does not listen to the general user, but seems to listen to Corporate influences to determine the functionality of its products. Look what happened to Director........someone decided that Flash Professional would do what Director did, but no one asked us that used it... Many of the features in Storyline are features I have been screaming at Adobe to provide in Captivate for years..... I hope Adobe listens, as Storyline will be the application of choice for Elearning content deployment very quickly. I want functionality that is user friendly and does what I want it to do. I do not want an application that simply shows me how clever the software developers think they are.

Hi, I use RTMP HTTP streaming is not allowed on or Network as port 80 is used for other activities. I may have an update on the situation but I am still testing. The Videoplayer that I was using with the issue was the new StrobePlayer with FMS 4.5 and the issue was happening with that player. I swopped it out for the older videoPlayer from FMS 3 and the streams were stable and did not have the delay over time issue. I also created a video player in Flash CS5 using actionscript with the NetConnection code and again, the stream was very stable. I then created another video using the FLVplayback component and this also was stable over a 24 hour period. So my theory so far is that the issue is with using the Strobe Player? I'm not sure if this is a help?

I have been used to this issue for a while now so I take it for granted with the solution. It seems Dreamweaver has issues with absolute paths when it comes to displaying SWF files correctly. It would seem that the logical workflow would be to open the File tab and drag the SWF file into place. Doing this works if you test the SWF file directly in Dreamweaver by clicking on the Play button when the SWF file is active. But if you view it in a browser using the Web URL you will get: Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. This plagued me for ages as I ended up installing and reinstalling Flash Player until I realised this was happening on all Computers that I tested the page on. If you drag the SWF file onto the page, in Code View you will see in two locations in the generated code: data="file:///C|/path/swffile.swf" Noe the strange | character after C ? This needs to be changed to the relative path data="path/swffile.swf" It will then work in the Browser without the error message If you go: Insert / Media / SWF and choose the SWF file, it will add it correctly. It only seems to happen when you drag the SWF into the page. Hope this helps.

I have created a small video broadcast app using Flash PRofessional as it was getting tedious sending users FMLE and providing them with instructions on streaming their camera to my FMS. The application works fine but I have no control over the size of the video or the quality. When it streams, the video is blocky and pixelated. Hi, When I run a live stream form FMLE 3.2 to FMS 4.5 lately, the stream after about 20 minutes or so, goes from a delay of about .5 second to about 20 seconds. This never happened until the past few weeks and nothing on the network has changed. The network is a gigabyte Lan and I am only using a 350kb stream without audio. for the first 5 or 10 minutes it looks fine with just a slight delay but then over a 10 to 15 minute period the delay can go to about 20 seconds. As the delay needs to be minimal it is causing some issues. Any reason why this might be happening? The Settings are: VP6 30 fps 320 x 240 In and Out Any advise would be appreciated

thanks for the reply. The typo is in the thread I wrote, and not the actual manifest as I edited it for the thread. I'll take another look as the actual manifest is the same as your working one. I'm wondering if the URL: http://ns.adobe.com/f4m/1.0 has anything to do with the problem, as I cannot access that URL directly? It might be a permissions issue with my network.
