Been having lots of issues with AE's frame.io integration for months. A) Upon trying to login on first launch, it usually errors out and I need to restart AE before it will finally let me login. B)Creating and then renaming folders almost never works on first attempt. Contantly get: "Error. Failed to rename the item. Please try again." It's so unreliable that I usually have to resort to adding files and folders through the web browser instead of through the AE interface, which is not ideal for a fast workflow. Windows 11, AE 2025, all updated to recent versions.

Thanks for the reply and looking into it! One other thing I forgot to mention is that the range of values between the scale keyframes seems to be a factor in the bug as well -- for example, if the inital keyframe is 0% and the second keyframe is 100%, then the bug will trigger if you follow the other steps as I originally outlined. However, if the initial keyframe is 50% and the second keyframe is 100%, it doesn't appear to trigger the bug.

If a mask is applied to a layer, and then scale keyframes are added to that layer, the ability to use the Selection Tool to click and drag the position of that layer within the Composition Preview Window breaks. Strangely, the effect of this bug is also dependent upon the position of the layer on the timeline. The bug's severity increases the farther to the right the layer is positioned in the timeline. So, for example, if the layer begins at the start of the timeline, the click-drag on the layer in the Composition Preview Window works as intended. The farther you move the layer to the right in the timeline, the smaller the active clickable area is in the Composition Preview Window, and instead of dragging the layer when you click on it, it drags the mask instead. I've attached a video showing the bug in action. Up to :33 seconds, you see the expected behavior. After :33, you can see that the Selection Tool can no longer drag the layer and instead drags the mask. AE 25.1, Windows 11. Tested in AE Safe Mode with all plugins disabled.

It's not, I'm battling with this in a project right now with the latest AE version installed. It definitely is some bug related to scale keyframes-- if I delete my keyframes, suddenly I can grab and drag the layer again without affecting the mask path. Come on Adobe, this bug is insanely frustrating...

This happens to us constantly in the After Effects frame.io interface as well. Very rarely does it ever rename the folder on the first try. It almost always gives an error and we have to refresh the folder view multiple times to get it to stick.

My PC is color calibrated, color managed, and in the current version of AE and current version of Windows 11, the color picker in AE definitely does NOT sample the correct color values from swatches in Libraries.

This is 100% a pretty severe bug. If you nest a long group of clips and try to time remap the nested clip, the clip will only partially time remap, and after a certain point everything goes black. That's all you have to do to reproduce it.

Media Encoder 24.2.1. Attempting to encode a Quicktime ProRes 4444 W Alpha video from a 2000 frame image sequence. If "Interpret Footage" is used with "Assume Framerate" (24fps in this case), the frames only encode properly partway into the finished video. At some point, the motion gets stuck on a single frame, and that single frame is encoded into the remainder of the video, frozen in place until the end. Previous versions of Media Encoder tested and do not have this issue (Currently switched back to 23.5 which works fine)

Even worse, in the latest version of Premiere Pro, dragging the front edge of a nested sequence to trim the selection forward on the timeline causes the rendered audio waveform for that layer to move backwards independently of the layer. It makes no sense, and it makes it impossible to work with.

Ok, I solved this myself. The problem is not having the proxy preview button turned on in the Program Monitor. You have to add this button to the Program Monitor manually as it isn't there by default. And if you dont turn it on, you aren't seeing your proxies-- you're just seeing the original footage (which is slower)

I have this exact same issue on a 10900K, 64GB RAM, and a RTX 3080 GPU (all CC apps up to date). Attached proxies play back worse than just importing and adding the proxy file directly to the timeline. It makes absolutely no sense, and it has nothing to to with the system being "underpowered." Proxy is ProRes.

iMac Pro base model. Latest MacOS. Rendering the same project from After Effects to Adobe Media Encoder. In the 2019 release of After Effects, it renders in around 13 minutes. In the latest 2020 release of After Effects, it renders in around 22 minutes. 13 minutes vs 22 minutes. This is horrid. Especially when I have a batch of 30 videos to export, this is HOURS of render time down the tubes if I use AE2020. What the heck is going on, Adobe...

I appear to have fixed this issue on my iMac Pro. I opened Activity Monitor and noticed that mds-stores process (Spotlight index) was using 100% cpu while this was occurring, and it would not stop running no matter what I tried. Also of note was that no indexing should have been taking place. I attempted to rebuild the Spotlight database twice with no result. Finally I manually excluded all drives from Spotlight, restarted, and added all drives back. mds-stores is now behaving, and more importantly, no more lag when selecting or moving layers around in AE.

Hey Rameez --An even bigger bug: Some effects prevent projects from being loaded into Adobe Media Encoder. For example, if any of my layers have Linear Color Key applied, then the project won't load in Media Encoder. If I remove Linear Color Key, then the projects load as expected. I've also found this happening with certain 3rd party plugin effects as well (Optical Flares from VideoCopilot causes the same behavior).

I've been having the exact same issue. Using iMac Pro. Also, whatever is happening also appears to affect dragging layers on the timeline... same freeze happens intermittently when I'm dragging layers left or right.

This is a rather crazy bug I've discovered. Using After Effects in latest MacOS Catalina on my iMac Pro. When stopping timeline playback with the spacebar, there is a huge lag for the playhead to move to the end of the preview time. After much fiddling around, I managed to deduce the cause of this, and it has something to do with the audio. If I am using the iMac Pro headphone jack with headphones, the lag is present. However, if I unplug the headphones and plug them back in, the lag disappears. I've recorded a screencap to show the behaviour first with headphones plugged in, and then after I've unplugged and immediately plugged them back in: Obviously, I can't keep unplugging/plugging my headphones back in each time I need to start on a new project, so any insight into this is much appreciated. Interestingly enough, the same behavior occurs with my USB audio interface set to the output, too. If I unplug the USB cable and plug it back in, the delay goes away for that as well. The only thing that works without going through these steps is the built-in iMac Pro speakers...no lag ever when using them for output.

Sure does. In fact, you can work in 32 bit color depth in ProPhoto color space if you want. And yes you can import RAW or TIFF formats.

The ridiculous thing about this is that the best/fastest way to do this is to not use Photoshop at all. Just import the photo into After Effects, use Keylight plugin and remove the background/spill all in one super quick step, and then export the single frame in the format of your choice. Why Photoshop doesn't have a similar plugin is totally mindboggling to me. See below: This took about 1.5 minutes of work using After Effects and Keylight with Advanced Spill suppressor. One step. No painting out spill, no slow multistep process. Clean results:

Try looking for AVX offset in the bios and using a value of -5 to start. I couldnt get mine stable until I used an AVX offset as well.
