Steps taken: Close LR Update LR to 8.3.1 Reopen LR Export photos using the exiting export preset with "Export To: Specific folder" option: Isue persists Add new export preset using the same settings as above: Isue persists Add new export preset with “Choose folder later” option: No issue! Photos can be successfully uploaded to My Portfolio. I am using an export preset to export images to the iMac hard-drive, that I've set up a while back. Therefore. it could be connected to the Classic 8.3 issue... I'll try the "choose folder later" option as well. So far, reducing the Quality' instead of limiting the file size' appear to have worked. I'll be able to confirm after a week or so. Is there a way to see the output file size in LR, at the time of export? as in Photoshop. That will be a helpful feature.  ... View more

If there are millions of Lightroom users, then there's a very high probability that for everyone that complains here, there are many others that doesn't want to go through the added trouble of searching through forums & complaining of defects. Im my case I use Mac computers, I've tried everything theres is, & Lightroom still crashes randomly (particularly when editing a large number of images, while exporting, using the brush tool, etc...). Thanks Bob & Dj, 1. Yes I backup after every photoshoot/edit. The issue was that I had done other edits in between the time I released some images/folders were missing. Unless if you can go back & forth between backups, to recover the missing edits? The "Automatically write changes into XMP" is such an important feature that I've tuned on now, thanks! Dj, I couldn't find the "Find Nearby Photos" option? 2. After deleting the duplicate folder that was causing the issue, everything else appears to be ok. I'm not sure if to create a new catalogue or not, because If I create a new catalog & move all photos/data in to it, then that will make no difference to the health of it, isn't it? 3.The current size of Catalog is 1.54 GB, Is there a recommended maximum size? Because the situation right now is: once I locate one image, Lightroom displays that folder in the Folders' panel, but with only 5 or 6 images, then when I right click the same folder and select "Synchronise Folder" the rest of the 200+ images load-up, but not with the edits/adjustments I've made, just the raw files. ... Ha Ha, thanks dj, I've done it. Once you find one image, is there a way to bring back the rest? should I synchronise' the folder or is there another way. Because, we are taking about close to 1000 images in different folders. Therefore if I find one image in each folder/album, then can I synchronise the folder to bring back the rest of the images with the Lightroom edits I've done? Hi Dj, I photograph professionally, & I carefully date my folders & files, therefore I know where exactly they are in the operating system, have been doing this over 10 years. This time the issue was that, they were erased from the Catalog, I can easily "Find the missing folders" or "synchronise the folders", but what I've lost is the moths worth of edits that I've made to the images. Thanks very much for the reply. Please see attached screenshots. I've performed the requested search/steps, the images appear blank. I back-up the Catalog regularly, therefore I'm thinking I may be able go back in time & recover the images.  Will contact Adobe again on Monday. It will be helpful to know how the folder duplicates (please see attached screenshot) might have occurred & in the processed wiping off close to 1000 images from the catalogue. A big headache & hours an hours of time wasted trying to resolve this, that shouldn't have happened to being with. Potentially a defect? Yes I can say the same. I've re-intalled my entire iMac/Operating Systems (MacOS High Sierra), Adobe creative & all applications including Lightroom. My computer is pretty clean with plenty of space. Apart from Apple products there's only Adobe applications running on It. But, Lightroom has crashed a couple of times since the reinstall...  Also the images sometimes load up distorted and takes quite a while to properly lord. ... View more

I've reset my iMac, reinstalled the operating system, adobe creative cloud & all application including Lightroom. And Lightroom has not crashed since then. However, must test for a couple of weeks to confirm if this issue has been completely resolved. ... View more

Adobe  Staff, it's been months now, this is such a crucial issue, are you at sleep? Lightroom Classic CC crashes without fail, every single time photos are imported. The crashes usually occurs at the second import. Meaning: I have 2 camera that I photograph with. import from first camera works fine, & import from second camera crashes every single time. I've tried switching the order, cameras & memory cards to make sure that fault is not with them... Hello Adobe, there are a tone of issues with LR classic CC. 1. Random crashes 2. Slow to operate 3. Images does not load & have to relaunch LR a number of times for the images to appear. Lightroom Classic CC crashed on my iMac too. The crashed occurred while downloading images from the camera.  And it deleted the entire folder & previously downloaded images which were in that folder. This is a suicidal issue for a professional photographer. Urgent fix required!!! ... View more

No it has not been fixed on Mac computers. I've contacted Adobe & a technical support representative carried out all sorts of updates on my iMac & it is still the same (an intermittent problem). Not just that: I've noticed that "Guided" tool in "Transform" doesn't work either (Zoom' icon persists when "Guided" is selected) When will this be fixed?
