The Astute plugins for illustrator are very well known and used and I dont think the problem is there. But I will check with them. Hi Anshul, I now installed version 25.4.1 over the version 25.0 I had installed and the flickering was not there and I could add vectorpoints with the pentool as I not could before. Maybe it was because I had installed v 25 before and some settings I made in this was imported. The Bounding Box was visible. I did hide it but there was no change. The only change problem I noticed with this quick test was that the handles had no circles in the end to grab. Se I have not done any of  the renaming- operations you mentioned since the flickering was not there. But I guess I will use version 24 until I tested v 25 more and it feels more stable. ... Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I had a look at the graphic card on the list and yes my card was not there. I was a good card so I thought it would work in most cases and it does so far. Here are my results. 1. Change order of the monitor in the system. Same result. 2.I used studio driver but this happend before I installed nvidea experience and the studio driver. Same result with studio driver. 3. It wasnot on a specific document I could not use the pentool at all. When starting to add a point workingspace started to flicker, white and for some reason blue. 4. My computer is brand new with a new installed windows 10 and illustrator was one of the first program I installed. 5. Since I used illustrator on this new computer the pref setting was new from the start. 6.Turning off GPU did not solve the problem. 7. I installed version 25.0 instead and there it was no problem with the GPU. Well. after a while I noticed the round circles in the end of the handles was gone. Maybe a bug in that version.   ... Thanks. I did some testing and made a screen recording that I attached. When I pick a colour from the clipping object and there is nothing else behind it pick from that object but if there is an object behind it will pick from that object behind. The same with shift+ click. Maybe you can not avoid this? ... View more

 Thanks for all answer. Maybe that feature is not called clipping path. I mean when you select an objct press shift + D twice and you get this dotline around the object, in this case the arm and when you make a new object this object turns into a group with a clipping "path" but it still has it's colours visble. ... Hi, Thanks for sharing your working ideas. I also try to have as few objects layers as possble. And how if I can use any tools to make copies ets to have as good overview as possible. Sometimes a quality of a projects can be how easy it is to update it when the clients have comments. If it's a mess it takes much time. If you planned it well the changes could be easily fixed. Yes, layers have a big favour in the usage of the apperances. A group can have clipping mask but maybe not som much more when it comes to "effects". ... View more

Since I work with animation I am used to layers and to keep them organised. Sometimes when I get files from an AD with artwork that I should animate they could be very kaotic. Objects that belong to each other they are on different places and even in different groups. So I could have a hard time organise it. Both layers and group are similar in contruction I think so it's based on that you name it well to get it organised. But it feels like the grouping came before the layers since it seems like a more basic function. You can set  the path-colors on a layer but not on a group. ( I think ) Is there anything that a group can do that a layer can't? ... View more

I just found out that I used layer mostly and have thougt of that as a better way than groups but that is of course not the case.
