After Effects

Working on creating a text heavy video with lots of little effects. I have created a mask path for the word "COGS" to follow. I've imported a png of wheels that I'd like to attach to the bottom of the word that follow the path along with it, but I'm stumped on how to do it. I've tried copying the mask and pasting it in the wheel's position. It copied the path, but not only is it much smaller, there's no path option to have it follow it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!    

After effects says my transform effect is missing from the effects and presets menu. Is there a way to reinstall it or would i have to delete the program and re download to get it back?

I am trying render a 2 minute 50 second video and everytime it is taking over 10 hours to render, sometimes even 24 hours this is ridiculous! I can't keep having to wait this long in the future please someon me help me resolve this issue. I have tried rendering it through the adobe media encoder dynamic link exporting to H.264 and that takes about 24 hours. I have tried exporting to DNxHR, Apple Pro res, Quicktime but they all take way too long.I am using a Macbook with these specs:

I'm trying to speed up the radio waves effect in AE and not having much luck. I read that I should make the frequency higher but that just adds more rings. I also read to use Expansion but that seems to spread them out further. How do I get them to go faster?

Hi, I work on MacOS with another editor besides me and we use 2 SSD drives for footage with the same directory paths for getting to the main footage folder. Collecting footage for each project wouldn't really work since it would fill up the projects folder really fast. Naturally, the computer names and the SSD names are different, so when he opens up a project I've worked on, he has to relink all the footage (since it's in the same folder, it's not much work but still a hassle), and vice-versa. We've thought of going with a local NAS‚ but sometimes one of us works remotely so the easiest solution currently is for each of us to have the external drives. And a networked NAS would take up too much bandwidth at work in our case. Is there a way (or some sort of hack) to tell After Effects to look for footage for a specific project just from the footage folder path onwards, ignoring the drive name and computer name? I'm of course open to other suggestions on how to solve my problem, any

The oldest possible version I can download on CC is 2024. I tried contacting Adobe Staff, but the oldest version they could offer me was 2023. I need to download 2020, but I'm not sure where to download it. Are there anyways to download it?

Hello, I have completed my animation. and then I applied a gradient ramp. But the gradient does not keep moving with the animation. It stands still. I must have done something wrong. Please help.  

I'm hoping to achieve an effect where I morph a world map in my video into a 3D globe and then spread back out into a flat map again.I can't seem to find anything in the CC Sphere effect to be able to do that so I wonder if there's any other way I can achieve this effect.

I am having the below issue (among others). Whenever I save a project or save the settings, the window that pops up never goes away. When I try to quit AE it crashes. It's also way slower than the last 2024 version. It will also slow to the point of crashing during normal work.   I have tried resetting all preferences, disabling plugins, uninstalling + reinstalling, starting in safe mode. I am running AE 25.0.1 on a mac OS Sequoia 15.1 (24B83). I had no issues before the jump to AE 2025.   If anyone can help me that would be amazing.  

I've been getting an error message pretty often on Premiere and After Effects lately that says 'fonts are not available on this computer', even though those fonts are installed and I make sure to double check in Creative Cloud. Has anyone else had this? The font is available when I select it in the text box, so I'm not sure what's going on. I've tried to log out of Creative Cloud, turn off the fonts and turn them back on, and nothing. Help 😬🫨

Hola, Mi programa de cabecera es After effects en win11. Me resultaba muy útil compartir mi trabajo para revisión con la extension integrada de frame.io. Pero hace un mes o dos meses no funciona mas esta extensión... pensé que iba a ser algo temporal, que se iba a solucionar con las últimas actualizaciones, pero no.¿Hay alguna solución? ¿Esto va a tener alguna solución pronto? o definitivamente van quitar esta opción integrada. Se supone que viene con el plan anual por el cual estoy pagando.

Olá pessoal, tudo bem?Meu pluggin animation composer está travando o after effects depois que troquei de laptop. Já atualizei tanto o animation composer quanto o after effects em várias versões e segue dessa forma, inclusive o 2025. No laptop antigo, usando after 2023 não travava. Já no novo, tem hora que trava o note inteiro e eu perco muito tempo. O laptop em si tem 1tb de memória e 16gb ram, não está com muitos arquivos usando a memória. Quando eu estou com a camada selecionada o animation composer trava.. caso não esteja selecionada, preciso pesquisar com calma o efeito e depois clicar na camada + dar o comando pra aplicar e torcer pra não travar.. No 2024 está da mesma forma. Desinstalei e reinstalei o animation composer e segue assim. Fui orientada a mudar o after effects para inglês, a fim de tentar solucionar o problema com o script. Testei em alguns trabalhos e novamente voltou a travar tudo. Às vezes o pluggin trava apenas quando começo a navegar por ele,

I ran updates a couple of weeks ago and didn't notice that After Effects got stuck on 55%. Today I clicked cancel. It is now stuck on Cancelling. I have restarted creative cloud, I have tried to uninstall After Effects. I can't use After Effects at all, and now because After Effects is stuck in cancelling I also can't update anything else as they are 'waiting'. I am running macOS Sequoia 15.1.1After Effects was trying to update to v 25.1Any advice?

I am trying to import a render I made on 2s (rather than 1s, for the sake of time), but the sequence is "missing" every other file. In the playback, there is a placeholder for these files. I don't want to spend countless hours importing every single png, or timeremapping the sequence. Is there a way to have Ae recognize each one in the sequence as a single frame, not skipping a frame? Hello everyone, I'm working on a video of images that catches fire. (selling images) I want to opacify the background because it is lighted as it goes through combustion.I'd like to keep a realistic side with the work of light coming from the flames.The idea of having a neutral black background.Not seeing too much how to do it, I work image by image with the painting tool in order to mask as and when it goes along and by playing on the opacity but the "actions" of painting on the layer make the video heavier and I get back again with a rendering every time in a long time.Do you have any ideas? I'm a little desperate to finish this video...I would point out that I am starting with after effect, thank you all for your advice.
