After Effects

Hi I have the latest AE on MAC 2023 and recently I had some error messages popping up (don't remember exactly what was it) and then the troubles started - I delete a layer but AE is still showing it!!! I have to restart it to see the fresh scene. Help! Also Illustrator stopped launching. What is going on?PS - Ive purged All memory and cache numerous times.

Whenever I enable time remapping and use loopOut() I get the last frame as a blank keyframe.  I've read all the solutions to fix this but they are not working for me. Going back 1 frame, creating a new keyframe and deleting the previous last keyframe simply moves the blank frame. No matter where the last keyframe is, it creates a blank frame.  How can such a simple task be so frustrating?

hi!whenever i try adjusting the stroke width for a line or try adding a repeater to make copies of the line it just keeps selecting the anchor point and vanishing the line, it's not letting me do much with the line

So, random question about setting up the workspace within After Effects.I have two monitors, the left one being the 'primary' one with the Task Bar, the 'File', 'Edit' etc. bar up the top and everything. The 'Tools' panel in after effects, when it's in its default position docked at the top of this screen, is all displayed as one line, including the workspace and mask options:However, I'd like to dock it to the top of my other screen. I can do this, but doing so forces it into a 3-line configuration instead with the 'Tools' label:Is there any way to get the default configuration happening on the second monitor? It's incredibly nitpicky, I know, but I had my workspace set just how I liked, and some recent hardware changes have caused this muck up.

Hey folks! I am trying to animate something not very different from this. Basically animating lines and some typography moving inside the masks. https://pin.it/5MqXN0dGo I need to understand what's the best way to go about it in terms of organising layers, comps etc. Like, I tried using just strokes/lines and animating them but its difficult to change their length respective to other lines around them. I am thinking, a better way way would be to using rectangles with strokes on top of each other instead. But what about the elements that will be coming from out of the bounds of the composition. Should I make them inside AE or design a big artboard with everything in place and then animate it? I hope it made sense. &#x1f605 Thanks in advance!

Hi.I get the following error each time I try to save, or AE tries to auto-save my project.It happens after I have imported stuff from Adobe XD using the Import -> After Effects function in XD and then saves the AE file.After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking plug-in "AE-XD Integration".Is there a fix for this issue?I'm running Xd: 14.0.42.14 and AE: 16.0.1

i was working on a project last night and naturally before i close after effects i saved it. i then closed after effects and turned off my pc. i went to open the project which showed last edited at the time i saved it and when i opened the project nothing was saved. the files imported were even gone. it said nothing about files missing or anything like that it just didnt save. it saved how i was zoomed in on the comp and everything just the files and progress is gone.

I recently reinstalled all the MacOS Monterey (12.7.6) into my Mac Pro 6,1 (Intel Xeon E5 3,5GHz) and reinstalled all the Adobe Creative Cloud apps. The 2024 apps like Photoshop or Illustrator works with any issue. But the 2023 apps like Premiere, Media Encoder or After Effects (in his last working version for my mac) crashed when I try to open it. It's a very strange bug, because they fail in the launch, that's meaning the app crash before the window of the app appears. I clicked in the app icon, the app is jumping in the deck and a few seconds after apperars a crash inform with any information about the crash.Before the reinstalled of the OS system all the apps was working perfectly. Any Help? 

Hi I'm using After Effects version 24.5 and since I downloaded a font I now can't use any text in AE without it crashing. I've deleted that font, reset the fonts panel, deleted my cache, reinstalled AE and its still happening. I'm using a 3xs PC.

Hi!I'm fairly new to AE and mocha and hit a speed bump.I've created/tracked a plane in mocha AE and I'm trying to apply a shape layer to move just like the plane, see gif:I made a shape layer right over my hand, but when I apply the tracking data it gets offset (and the height scales strangely). When I try to move it to be over the hand it gets clipped, see images:Image 1: shape layer is offset: Image 2: layer gets clipped:The tracked plane and shape layer are acting the way I want them to, just not in the right place. I've tried moving the entire shape layer as well as editing the point of origin but to no avail. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?Thanks!

Hi guys,I'm in need of some help, I have a few occasions where we have several compositions in one after effects file, the import window doesn't let me use shift or command to select more than one composition at once?I'm editing at a mountain bike race and have over 100 lower thirds and about 10 individual stage results graphics I need to import. Do I need to do them one by one or is it possible to import several at once? Will be doing this several times over the year so would be great if I could simply select multiple compositions and import them at once.(Sure I'm just missing something very basic) On the image above, I can't shift or hold command to select more than 1 comp at once.

Hello everyone I've been working on this animation project where I have to change hands positions from one state to another, using toggle hold key frame I change the opacity from 100 % to 0% without going through all the scale to down to 0%. This way I can change the state position of the hand without animating each finger by itself as it will be time-consuming and in practical terms, speed up the process, and I was wondering if there is any way I can link each state to a slider control con I can animate this steps back and forward with the slider from 1 to 2, where 1 is the first state and 2, the second one. I don't know if I explain myself correctly (I Hope I do) thank you in advance and any suggestion is welcome.  

I have two SSD drives I use on my computer. One is for the Windows OS (where my Adobe programs are installed to) and the other is my where I keep my project files (and only work from this drive). I always set all my Adobe cache file locations to the same folder on my SSD drive that has my OS/Adobe apps. I'm wondering if I'd have better performance if I moved the cache file folder to the other SSD, where my apps are not located? However, that would put in on the same drive as my project files (which I've read you don't want to do). So which is a better location, the OS drive or the projects drive (without my OS or apps)? I also have other internal SATA drives I could use, if that's a better option.

Scripts that are working in 2023 are not working for me in 2024. It appears to be some javascript array methods that are causing the issue. I wrote a simple script to test and am getting the same results: works fine in 2023, does not work in 2024 or the latest beta. This is on an M2 Macbook Pro.
