As a designer collaborating with animators in collaborative environments, I frequently find myself navigating between Photoshop and After Effects. While I'm aware of methods to reflect existing Photoshop layers in After Effects, seamlessly integrating newly added layers poses a challenge.Illustrator/After Effects workflow is much easier for adding new layers using Overlord


.How do studio folks and those who work in collaborative environments handle the back-and-forth workflow between Photoshop and After Effects, especially when integrating newly added layers?

as seen in the image my frame is green and beyond that frame are constantly flickering, anyone know a fix?

I've been using After Effects consistently for about 4 months. Recently, I've had a problem where, sometimes when I minimize After Effects or switch to any other tab/program, my PC freezes for about a second, then blue screens. It only happens when I minimize AE or switch to another tab/program. This is the exact thing that I see when it blue screens:  I haven't installed any new software or hardware, made no changes to my settings in AE, and this doesn't happen with any other software ever.  I have the newest version, I've tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it, I've tried using an older version of AE, and updating my drivers and computer, but the problem persists no matter what.And something weird is this only happens on some days. For example; one day I could be using AE perfectly fine for 2 hours straight, and the next day it will crash the first time I try to minimize it to go to another program. Hi all! I encountered a problem with the after effect. I can’t save a project to an external SSD drive SAMSUNG T7 on a MacBook Pro M1. Every time you minimize the application (after effect) an error occurs (attached below)Before this I worked on Windows, also from an external hard drive Samsung T5, everything was ok.Read about possible fixes for granting disk access. The toggle switch is turned on, attached a screenshot.If anyone can tell me what to do, I would be grateful. Thank you!    

I'm using After effects for making an animation but at a certain point the app crashes and keeps opening Adobe access page in my browser. I've accessed but if after effects remains open the pages keep spawning unstop. This problem is persisting. Thanks.

Have checked the permissions issues and deleted preferences to get ae working in Sonoma.I would say every third project I open is crashing out at about 95%turning hardware acceleration off in Display and Import doesn't help.Thought I would mention it here in case there is a memory leak or something.I assume Apple just turned everything upside down for no reason again.drive is encrypted if that helps Can someone just write a bit of ML to tag this for me??

 Hey guys, so I just did some editing and in After Effects itself in the preview the audio is matching perfectly no problem, but when i render and look insinde my desktop folder for finished rendered videos and preview it the audio is delayed by like 10 seconds, I really don't know what to do so any help would be a livesaver thank you.

When I try to export a project the rendering process is stuck and won't move for example it is 8%/ 86/960 frames.The only way it moves a bit is when I turn off multi frame rendering but it doesn't really help.Render settings: best settingsOutpt module: QuickTimeRAM: 82GB

Hi In an AEGP I'm building a function which can loop through all layers and effects in a given composition. The problem is that my effectsLen (number of effects on a layer) will return a very high number of several thousands even though there are only one effect in my test project.What is weird is, if I exclude this line:  ERR(suites.EffectSuite4()->AEGP_GetEffectMatchName(installedKey, &effectMatchName));  ... it will work and effectsLen will correctly be 1. If I add it, effectLen will be wrong. I fail to see what these have to do with each other? Good Morning.The title to this question may not do much justification, so please walk with me closely. Thank you very much. I'm trying to get a text to move vertically(upward), from one point to another. Let's take for example, on a Y-axis, I want to move a text from point 0, to point 3, and then back at point 2. Works well with Linear Keyframes; the moment I change the interpolation to Bezier, it moves from 0, to 3, to 3.5, and then back to 2.It's Bezier, so the movement becomes distorted and unpleasant. The only remedy I am aware of, is to use the Vertex tool to make adjustments. Do I always have to make this vertex adjustment everytime, or is there something about using Bezier on position Keyframes that I'm ignorant on, because I have neither experienced this with scalling, nor rotation Keyframes. Thank you.   

Hello, I've wiped my computer and had to re-install my CS6 package. This is the second time I've done this, and had AE issues. Last time, I was directed to a page with download links, is there a new download patch I have to use for Mac OS High Sierra? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks.

Im using after effect. My hardware is intel i510400f, 16gb ram 3200, rtx 3050. What should i upgrade to reduce the render time until around 2 times?

Are the properties within the same layer not arrayed in the order they are manually selected? For instance, I selected position, scale, and rotation in a text layer. However, after executing this script in After Effects 20204 24.2,------------var comp = app.project.activeItem;var selectedProps = comp.selectedProperties;alert(selectedProps[0].name);------------the [0] part is scale instead of position.This is also the happen when box selecting .

Hi there, Need help to round edges of 3d (spinning) image. I would like it to look somewhat like the third image (D) but as it stands when it rotates all you see is the sharp edges and angles(2nd image). How can I make it more spherical? Pleae help. 

Hey allJust recently updated to an AMD graphics card , Radeon RX vega. And i'm getting .crash files constantly when launching on my desktop. The program runs fine, but worried it may not later on during a project. I have an intel i7-4790k - Windows 10 was working fine on my 980ti. chat GPT suggests something about an openGL crash or other threads crashing. Like i said before it opens and runs fine for now, just when it launches a Afterfx crash file appears on desktop. Done the usual DDU of NVIDIA drivers and AMD is up to date. I have attacthed one of the filesAny ideas?cheers!

Hello everyone! Could someone tell me approximately how to achieve a result similar to these examples, correcting my process? I was thinking of using the curves effect to distort the colors of the image, making it darker and reddish in certain corners. And then using turbulent noise to create a line effect similar to the image, using evolution to make a distortion animation. Finally, adding a mask to this animation, so that it is displayed in certain places of the image, and in this case, I have a lot of doubts about how to do it. Perhaps using the 'HSL SECONDARY' feature in the Lumetric Color effect and creating a mask by selecting specific colors to personal taste? Hi there,I've been using After Effects 2020 for a while and recently upgraded to 2023. I'm encountering a significant difference in how the "Center Anchor Point in Layer Content" function now operates. Previously (2020): This function exclusively moved the anchor point without impacting the layer's position, regardless of animations or parental connections to other layers. Currently (2023): However, in 2023, when this function is used on animated 3D layers parented to other layers, the anchor point itself remains stationary, but the layer's position unexpectedly shifts. This change unfortunately poses a major challenge for my existing projects. Query: Is there a solution to restore the previous behavior or a workaround to achieve the same outcome in the new version? Any assistance or information regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I’m currently doing a composite using one of Action VFX’s free green screen shots (an astronaut in a space suit walking). I’m still in the beginning of the project, but I’m facing a problem with the green screen keying. As the shot has a lot of shadows and the green was kind of pale, I added Lumetri Color and tried to add some saturation and brightness to the green and reduce the shadows (I tinkered with that in HSL Secondary, but can't reduce them that much, without melting the suit shadows away as well). When I keyed it out, the space suit had some transparency, probably because the green spill is too much on the white suit and it eats away its pixels too. When I apply the keylight effect and sample the green, I end up with a semi-transparent subject. The only setting I can change to bring back 100% opaqueness is “clip white”, but that starts to add back the background in grey color. I tried to do a garbage mask around the subject and add the keylight, but it’s still the same

I'm working in AE v18, using Rotobrush 2 to isolate some foreground elements in footage I'm compositing a person into. I've roto-ed these elements and I'd like to add an additional mask to these layers to hide a bit of the image too time consuming to roto with the brush (working with low-contrast footage), but are easy to hide with a tracked rectangle mask. But masks don't have any effect on layers with the rotobrush effect applied.Are roto-brushed layers incompatible with masks (if so, why?), or have I stumbled upon a bug?

I'm developing an AEGP plugin, based on the AE SDK "Commando" example.By default, the plugin name appears grayed-out in After Effects "Window" toolbar. I want it to be completely remove it from there, as it's goal is to work on the background and be invsible to the user.How can I achieve that?
