A guy I know, found a coding or scripting tool to alter Adobe files outside the Apps.So you don't need to start up any Adobe App, but you can alter parameters found inside the Adobe file.Think like the Source Text within an After Effects project.Once my acquaintance told me the name of this coding / scripting system but I forgot and he refuses to tell me about it again.It's made by Adobe. If I'm correct, it's Java-like. What happens is that you see a little black console box. Then your script / code changes whatever you like within the project.In all the years I have been working with Adobe, I have never been able to find anything about this system and also now, I have not been able to find it back again. It's that hard to find. It's not for writing things within the apps. So no expressions and such. It's a little something like a jsx. Quite crude but it uses instructions from the specific Adobe site which allows for extremely powerfull, deep and quick changes within Ado

I'm a novice when it comes to expressions and the such. I've been trying to use the expression selector to make templates of repeated text animations I use. The one I'm having dificulties with is the anticipation text animations. What I want to do is move the characters in the opposite direction of the value I have for half the duration and then the other half move the character down to the value I have placed in. I've used linear expressions and i'm tearing my hair out cause it's not working correctly. This is what I have now and I was going to add easing settings once it was setup. Hello, I am a newbie when it comes to expression.  I have a piece of code I got from a YouTube video that looks like this: st = 300; t = st - time; if (t>599.999) { c = timeToTimecode(t); c = c.substring(3,8); } else if (t>1) { c = timeToTimecode(t); c = c.substring(4,8) } else { t = 0 c = timeToTimecode(t); c = c.substring(4,8); } But what I want to add is a way to add a delay to the start of the countdown, just like what this guy did with his video.  Electric - 5 Minute Countdown  Also yes, I am using the same effect he is, he made a tutorial video on it, but the video does not include on how to delay the start of the coutndown while keeping the electric animation animating.  How would I do that? If you need to, here's his Tutorial Video  Thank you in advaice for your help.

Hi, I track the camera in a video in Aftereffects and I make solid and export it to cinema 4d it immediately shows an error "file not found" and I dont see the solid in the cinema 4d. When i use very short video like 2 seconds, then it works. I tried to reinstall the programs and still the same problem.

Hey there resourceful people,I have two cameras in my composition. One for the final view and one that is further away, looking down from the top right on the first camera.This second camera is for displaying the arrangement of the composition.Now I'd like to export this second cameraview while (that's the issue) showing the first camera (as a frameconstruct ) and - if possible - on it's pathway.Soooo .... is there a way to do this? or do I have to build a framework that looks like the camera and let it follow the first camera? That would be very tricky and would not show the changing focus of camera one as it does if I could show the camera itself. Hey everyone, I have kind of an ununsual question/request, but would not find anyone else to have this problem:My after effects is updated to version 15.0.1, but there seems to be no face tracking feature (in the tracker section).Now I´m wondering, is it my creative cloud plan - Creative Cloud Student and Teacher Edition - that hides some of the new features..Can anybody help me?

Dear everyone,I am making a simple explainer video. Simple in terms of not many effects or other heavy things. Somehow on my Desktop PC with RTX 3070 and AMD Ryzen 9 3900x the RAM Preview often stops after 2 seconds. I tried a lot of things such as:Purging Cache / MemoryCreating more Memory (I allocated 28GB of 32GB to After Effects)Making more Disk Space available.The thing is, I use the same settings in AE and exact same file. Somehow on my Macbook Pro 2022 (with less RAM, and less specs in general) it goes smooth, or probably as one would expect. Something that is a clear difference in terms of numbers is the Render Time that's being shown in the latest version of AE, those render times are a lot higher on the Desktop PC as well... Maybe this could be a hint?Any idea what I could do? The attached photo is from the Desktop PC. The same frame renders at 46ms on the Macbook Pro 2022.

I'm trying to render a PNG sequence as below and I get the following errors:- AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: PNGIO library error: known incorrect sRGB profile- AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: unable to create PNGIO- An unexpeted error occurred while exporting a composition. Error Code: 1As a result, it exported just one 0-byte png, which is damaged.If I open the same project on another machine (again on Windows), it renders without any warning/errors:Any help? 

Dear everyone, I have two machines. A macbook with M1 processor (16GB RAM) and a Windows with AMD Ryzen 3900x and RTX 3070 32GB RAM. The intention always was that the latter was my expensive and faster working workstation... But it turns out this one often lags in previews where the macbook smoothly RAM previews. I am a bit at a loss here... I tried all things possible to make the windows faster, but with the same scene file Macbook wins every race in terms of previewing smoothly. Is this normal? Is something wrong? I definitly am a bit disappointed that my expensive hardware eventually loses to officially slower hardware of the Macbook.Hope someone can clear this out for me. 

Hi out there! Everytime I turn off my monitors After Effect video preview on my second display quits working when I turn the monitors back on. To make it work again I need to go back to preferences deselect the 2nd monitor, close preferences then go back and select it again. Is there a work around for this (without more hardware)? I'm on a mac studio M1 ultra running 3 monitors over thunderbolt 4.

I have a lot of Pre-Comps and can't click on each single text layer.Would be nice to find the perfect matching font for an Motion Graphic Project.The Dialog at the start of an opening Project which says "Resolve Font" is greyed out and etherway not an solution.Ae 23.5.0

hello i would like to find a way to control my settings controler angle in a precompmaybe with markers or whatever would like to have an expression on my controler that take the ref of the layer comp markers to set the angle of my select items  i have to duplicate multiple time the comp with different settings each time not sur to be clear ... so i took some screen grab 

After Effects and Creative Cloud both up to date. Refreshed Preferences. Restarted. All that jazz. Activated fonts do show up in AE, but I'm not able to do anything with the Resolve Fonts popup. Having to select text and manually change fonts is...you know. It's not a good workflow especially when a supplied working file has individual letters on layers that need replacing. Yikes! Any suggestions on a solution?    

When trying to add a layer or add a null layer, i go up to the layer option in after effects and try and click the "layer" option, but for some reason i dont get any option to add anything. nothing pops up, and even trying to change the graph type of my graph. i constanly click to try and change the graph type but the the panel is not coming up. even trying to easy ease my keyframes. i can highlight my keyframes but i cant right click on my keyframes to easy ease them. im stuck to using presets and it really annoying. if anyone has got a answer please tell me. i use after effects 2021 or after effects 2023 but both dont work.

I have this Audio Visualizer bar not visible after certain adjustments: For example: 1) When I increase the composition size in compsition settings it wont be visible anymore as seen below in the first 4 photos (Changed from 1280px width - 720px height TO 2460px width - 1440px height) P.S. - I already tried changing all the sizes of my Controler 2nd question is under all 4 photos 2nd) After I change my duration of my composition the audio bar is still visible which is good. However after it reaches a certain point (Hence the yellow arrow I drew) the audio bar no longer visible. Even when I streched out the controler bar along with the author and song title bars - meanwhile the author title and song name are still visible. Why is that ?  P.S. - I notcied that when the black background is no longer visible (where you can see the video I placed with the gun) that is when the audio bar is no longer visible - They aren't visible at the same time.

In my Adobe programs (After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop...), due to reasons I don't know the source of, they either constantly give a crash error and close or close without an error. I can't seem to overcome this issue. I've asked the community for help on this matter, but a solution hasn't been found. I'm a student trying to cover both my school expenses and my personal needs by doing design work, but I haven't been able to use the programs for 3 days due to these errors. I am in a difficult situation. I've sent multiple emails, but there has been no response. I'm experiencing this issue while using licensed software, and a solution can't be found. My computer, software, drivers, and antivirus are all up to date. Hi Everybody, I have a situation where I'm morphing three icons. The first two work fine, the last does a 180 flip and everything is all messed up. I went back into illustrator, made it a compound path (all of them), made sure the directions were all the same, then re-imported the vector back into AE, made shapes, and still had the same problem.  Now, I see that there's a primary or starting bezier node witha circle around it. That's my problem. In the third shape it's on a bad spot, I even rotated it without avail. So I need to know how to reset that spot to be another bezier node so the whole thing moves smoothly. Does anybody know how to do that? Screengrab attached to point out what I'm alluding to.    

Hi there, My goal is to make a 10x10 grid of precomps (animated squares), each with its own random number physically displayed on top of it. My setup: I have a single PRECOMP called "Square," which is an animated square (it doesn't yet have an animated number on it). I dragged this PRECOMP into my MAIN COMP, then duplicated it 100 times so that the X and Y positions increment based on the X and Y positions of the previous PRECOMP (index - 1 equation). Does anyone know if it's possible to add a random number on top of each square? I obviously can't do this in the PRECOMPs themselves because they're all duplicates of a single PRECOMP.  Happy to provide more information 🙂  Thanks!

I have an After Effects project that was originally done in English. Now I'm making the same graphics in Hindi.  I've changed the text input to Asian and Middle Eastern and if I make a new text layer the Hindi text will copy and paste fine.  However, if I copy and paste over an existing text layer, it will not paste correctly.  I don't want to rebuild from scratch so how can I get an existing text layer that was originally created with the Latin text engine to successfully read the Hindi that I am pasting?Thanks for your help.

Where is After Effects 2020 for an old Mac?

 When using previous version 16The position of the particles from the layer emitter was random.But in version 18.1 that you're using now,It is created in a specific location as it is now.Even if turbulence or spin is applied, it is applied as shown in the picture above.Has it changed to being created in a different way than before?Or is there a different kind of setting?
