After Effects

Hi all 🙂   I have a .fla file I want to import into my project in After Effects. Thing is, and old version of that .fla file was succesfully imported in an older version of AE. I had to change the Animate file, and when I try to import this new file, a message error says "adobe animate is required to import a .fla file" which makes no sense at all since of course Animate is part of CC Desktop... I'm suspicious it has to do with the last AE update, but I reckon I might be doing something wrong. Any idea why this could be happening?   Thanks!   ps. I tried to replace / reload footage with no success, export the animate file as a video, etc. Not proper solution, I'd need the fla file in the ae in order to make everything work properly   [NOTE: The title of this post has been edited by a moderator]

Help! About 3 weeks ago, this problem has cropped up and rendered AE unuseable to me on my laptop: When I open a project (or start a new one), everything works fine for a few minutes until suddenly the composion panel just freezes.  After Effects continues to run, I can even close the panel and reopen it and it reopens in its frozen state. I can continue to edit on the timeline, save my work etc, but when I close After Effects it will stop responding and crash out. I have tried: Resetting cachedeleting preferencesswitching to CPU renderingswitching off multiframe renderingupdating my graphics driversreinstalling After Effects completely No avail, it just freezes now, almost every time, after a couple of minutes regardless of what I am doing in it. Specs:Ryzen 9955hxGeforce 5070ti64gb DDR5 RAM After Effects current version is 25.2 - this updated today Sept 2025Geforce Studio Driver 581.29 - this was updated The laptop is basically 2 mont

Hi all, I recorded a video from my screen using "in game overlay" from Geforce Experience. The video is fine, it's the way I want, the sound is good too. I need to work on this video on AE but when I import the video, it just doesn't have sound! I checked everything, preview is with sound on, everything has sound on there but I can't hear a thing. It even shows the waveforms on thumbnail when you select the file on project tab. Yet the waveform doesn't exist owhen you add to the composition.

 Hello! Would love some advice / insight on ACEs within AE. I work with CG and VFX all done in ACES CG, that works fine, looks good, blah blah blah. But the second I try to bring in or create graphics on top, I start to get aliasing once I put the input color space to be sRBG (so I can get the right brand colors and pure whites). As of now I've been working around that by doing any comp / CG work in an ACES project, and then making an alt project that's rec709 or srgb to add graphics on top with prerenders. Obviously, this adds an extra step so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong here. The weird thing is if you view the Color Space transformed graphics over an empty background, the type looks clean (see the first screenshot). Is this something anyones dealing with or Adobe is aware of?I've even tried using the alpha of the non-color space transformed graphic as a matte and that still looks chunky. This happens all the time and curious if anyone has a workaround.&nbsp

Every time I open up After Effects, it's asking me to connect to the internet so that my license can be actiavated. I am always connected to Wi-Fi and my other Adobe softwares don't have this issue. Currently I only have 4 days remaining...  Version:  25.5OS: Windows 11GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 

Hello,I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with this problem! Since around a month ago, After Effects has either given me a red screen or crashed whenever I add a Boris/GenArts Sapphire effect (the crash or red screen depends on the download I've used). I've downgraded and upgraded versions of AE and Sapphire, reinstalled both the program and the plugin and updated my drivers (both Studio and Game Ready drivers since I have an NVIDIA graphics card). I use an NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor, and I have 16 GB of RAM. Please help!! Thanks!!Regards,Julian

This may just be my workflow that's wrong, but currently in After Effects I can't seem to find a way to create a null (or layer) that automatically parents to selected layers. Currently i'm finding that i have to create a null object, then manually select all desired layers and then attach them to the null. What I'm trying to do is: Select layers in timeline > Create a null that is a parent to all selected layers. Hopefully this makes sense as this would save a tonne of time and hassle. Preferably without buying 3rd party plugins Thanks

What way(s) can I  make an indoor audio from one clip match to an outdoor clip?   Trying to make the indoor clip sound like it is outside to match the other clip.  Is there a shortcut to it?

whenever i save my ae edit to my phone or export it to the mega app, the audio is delayed, but in the after effects app everything is perfect. i've cleared all my cache and the problem is still occurring   Title edited by Mod.

I'm experimenting with 8K resolution... The Spherize effect has a limit of 2,500 and doesn't cover my entire video. In 4K, the Spherize effect works fine and covers the video completely, but I need the extra resolution of 8K. In 8K, the effect only covers about half of the video. Is there a way to bypass or increase the 2,500 limit?  (Dont want to use other effects, only Spherize do the thing that i want, already try the other ones)

I animated some text, and then went to switch to Cinema 4D to extrude and bevel it, etc. However, when I switch to Cinema 4D, the text disappears.  I believe this is linked to the "Enable Per Character 3D".  When I start with Cinema 4D turned on, then go to create the text animations and turn on the "Enable Per Character 3D" my text again disappears. Anyone else experience this and find a solution?  Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

Lately I've been getting this annoying popup when trying to open an .aep from Finder: I have to go into Ae and "File>Open..." from there.Anyone else have this? Is there a fix?

Hi, I recently updated my After Effects to version 22.2. Since then any time I type in a text box the text begins typing backwards with the question marks and quotation marks ending up at the front of the text instead of the end. I've tried to look up fixes but everything I try doesn't work. If anyone knows how to fix this, I would be grateful. Thank you.
