Bridge

There are some changes in the latest Bridge (compared to 2010) that have been useless.  Eg Metadata info in the Metadata panel has wastefully and unnecessarily been indented so the palette needs to be widened far more to be able to see the information.  +Why do the indent?  There was NOTHING achieved by it.So a feature request:  Do not indent the Metada information.

lightroom is great, easy to use and it is handy. but haw many of you prefer Adobe Bridhe over Lightroom? and why? 

I quite liked the look of the new Bridge (V13) but I have had numerous problems. Like looking at a photograph and then moving on and looking at another but it still keeps the first one selected. This is annoying when trying to edit one but catastrophic when you decide you want to delete ONE photo and it deletes two. Also I have found it keeps jumping all over the place with my photos. I am going through editing them and choose the next and it jumps to the top or the bottom ??  I have also noticed a weird problem with the screen flickering like pulsing. Not sure if the program does not like my graphics card but I have never had this issue before this update So its back to the previous version for me

I was excited to hear that Adobe added the ability to select the .jpg extension instead of always using .jpeg when exporting JPG files (because it allows me to directly overwrite the out-of-camera JPGs with their better processed versions), but when I tried that new capability, it had the undesired side effect of disabling the edits I made to the RAW (.nef) files if I exported the JPG to the same folder as the RAW file. This is a problem for me since I shoot RAW + JPG and prefer storing them in the same folder. This doesn't seem to happen if I export the JPG files to a different folder. But if I'm going to have to export them to another folder and then copy them back, it's almost as clunky as the writing to .jpeg and using bulk rename to change them to .jpg (and overwrite existing files) that I was doing before. I tracked down the issue to the .xmp files having their "AlreadyApplied" flag set to True. I have just updated from Bridge 13 to Bridge 14 (Win 10) and my Smart Colletions have been purged - The  Collection titles are there but there are NO parameters (Source, criteria etc.). I am able to recreate a Collection by re-entering the Source and Criteria but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have to. If Bridge failed to import the Collections, I suspect I will find a lot of other settings that have not been imported. I had considered uninstalling and reinstalling Bridge 14, but if I do, what should I answer when asked whether or not to keep or remove notifications, alerts, settings, plugins ......etc.? I do not want to lose all the settings I have in Bridge 13. If the Install is defective, I fear the Uninstall will be just as bad. 

Hi there,I use:Bridge 2024 version 14.0.0.102 but I just upgraded so same happened on the old version Bridge 2023MacOS version Ventura 13.5.2 Opening Bridge and selecting file "tiff" or "jpeg" and then pushing on "open" or "open as smart object" results in nothing. Same excersise from Bridge but double clicking on "tiff" or "jpeg" opens the files in Photoshop Camera Raw and then pushing on "open" or "open as smart object" does the job!  Do you think it is a problem in settings, because I doubt it? Could you please fix this?I have never tweaked my settings etc. I have upgraded my MacOS and CC hoping that this will be resolved but it is not 😞   Thanks! 

I have two installed versions of Photoshop. The one which has all my actions, custom brushes, etc., is Photoshop 2023 v24.7.0.643. I also have Photoshop 2024 (Beta) v25.0.0.2265 because I am checking out AI. If I want to go from Bridge into PS or from Camera Raw into PS the image opens in PS Beta v25.0 because Adobe states that is the default. Is it possible in Bridge and Camera Raw to change the default to PS 2023? If so, what are the steps?

Hallo zusammen,wenn ich eine große Anzahl von Bildern habe, in meinem aktuellen Fall ca. 900, nach einer Hochzeit, bearbeite ich diese über Bridge, Camera Raw und Photoshop.Wenn das Bild bearbeitet ist, die PSD Datei und das jpeg gespeichert sind, springt Bridge wahllos (gefühlt) auf ein Random Bild. Dann muss ich immer scrollen, mal hoch, mal runter um das zu letzt bearbeitete Bild zu finden. Stört definitiv den Workflow und ärgert mich ein wenig, bei der Anzahl an Fotos. Vielen Dank für Eure Unterstützung

I am having a problem with Bridge not saving my favorites. I have updated Bridge via the Cloud but still it does not retain the latest Favorites I have added. I have also deleted my cache in Bridge.I drag the folder from the content folder/palette to the Favorites palette and also try it with right click and add to Favorites, but neither will save. I have added to the Favorites palette in the past. Any clues?

The latest version of bridge is not showing the entire image when I view with spacebar or as a larger preview in Essentials.  It seems to be cutting off the top of the image.  Any idea as to how I can fix this? Or should I go back to the previous version? I've attached 2 photos - the first one is the full image, the 2nd one is what I see with a preview

Hi,I have an issue with Adobe Bridge when I color label files.So I've been working with some raw files (in "Libraries" tab) and I press "6" every time I want to label a file as "select" (I have unchecked the box "use ctrl for labels and ratings"). The red color selection works but when I do so, Bridge changes the order of files ("sort by date created" is selectied). E.g. when I color label file IMG_9955 it flips order with file IMG_9956 which now shows before IMG_9955.Is this relevant to the numbers included in some file names?Can someone please help me with this frustrating thing? 

Why is it that? Even though I know there are several files (.m2ts to be exact) on my hard disk (window explorer displays them without any difficulty). Bridge is unable to see or find them and comes back with "nothing to display" when I do a search.

Install of v14 broke my main reason for opening Bridge... to run a very simple custom output module template.  It's not recognized in v14.  I reinstalled v13 and it wont work there either now.  The computer involved is an M1 Mini, Ventura 13.5.2. Ive used the same template reliably for many years on numerous versions through the last v13 version without any issues.  I haven't upgraded the Bridge install (13.0.4.755 on my laptop (M1 Air, Ventura 13.5.2.). Same template works fine there.  Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?Thanks!Bob Smith

I cannot speak for all photographers. But for me, the Review mode in Bridge was always a waste of space. Here it is:Can I change the size of the displayed image on screen? No. Can I zoom in on it? Only using the utterly useless loupe to pixel peep. Can I display the exposure information? The ISO? The focal length? ANYTHING other than the filename? No. Thus in version 12 and earlier I used the Slideshow to review my images instead. At least that way I got the whole image on screen AND I got exposure information as well. I didn't get any control over WHAT information was shown, but at least this was more useful than a filename.  Now let's look at the same image presented in version 13:Soooo now, you have NO way of reviewing photos and being able to see the exposure information (not to mention any of the other metadata fields which you SHOULD be able to display at your discretion, but hey, it's an Adobe product, so....) Am I missing something or is this yet another Ado

Hi,       I am unable to use sorting (alphabetical order) while keywording in Adobe Bridge 11.1.1.185, Which I was able to use on Adobe Bridge CS5. All the settings seems fine and almost similar to Adobe Bridge CS5. Please find attached screenshots for reference. I am using Windows 10 pro (64 Bit)

When in batch rename Adobe Bridge is generating the file name but also changing the images to a document file...This just randomly started and I have not adjusted any settings. How to fix?

I have been using the subscription for several years and am fastidious about upgrading when I receive notifications. Since upgrading to the latest version of Bridge (11.1.4.213), I am unable to batch process any files in Photoshop because of the error message "Install latest version of Photoshop to continue..." I have confirmed that I am using the latest version of Photoshop (23.5.1), and have re-installed the latest version, to no avail. I am using a late-2013 27"inch iMac, running OS Catalina (10.15.7). Please help!

Digi-tech at Anthropologie here, running 4 sets a day.  At the end of the day, we use Bridge to manually sort shoots and output a pdf for company review.  Its been working fine for a year, but all of sudden Bridge will no longer allow us to manually sort images.  The blue line will appear, but files will not move.  Some images will, but others are just stuck in place.  We preferred Bridge 22, but when this issue arose, I updated to 24, and the same problem persists.  I've tried clearing the cache.  Please help, this is a huge issue for us!  Screen recordings attached of issue on 22 and 24.  

In Bridge 2023 (Version 13.0.0.562) when I rearrange files to sort and order them manually, it does not move the images. The blue line comes up to indicate where the file should move to, but after release, the files remain where they are. I have selected and unselected "ascending order" I have manually selected "manual" in the sort order. These do not seem to work. It appears to work when looking in a folder directly, but doesn't work if I am viewing a smart folder. Cheers

Seit der neusten Bridge 2024 und Photoshop 2024, fehlt bei Bridge unter Werkzeuge Photoshop. Auch kann man nicht von Photoshop zu Bridge wechseln. Die Startskripte scheinen leer zu sein. Bridge habe ich neu installiert.

I am using an M1 Silicon Mac Studio pro 32 gigs of ram, and My photography editing workflow is, to download my card with Adobe PhotoDownloader in Bridge, then star my keepers, then sort by stars, and double click on each one to edit it in A.C.R.  I seldom even need PhotoShop because I shoot well.  🙂   I reveled when Adobe took Bridge V14.0.0.102 out of BETA, and made it a general release.I quickly deleted my Bridge BETA, and PhotoShop beta and went with the actual release versions now.  Suddenly I noticed a much slower response when launching Bridge, and it was loading my images slower, and even slower processing them out when I asked it to EXPORT to my already made export presets I've always used.  BTW, I am VERY GRATEFUL you finally gave me back my ability to export to .JPG instead of JPEG.  That was a wonderful restoration. After struggling checking Bridge and ACR settings and finding nothing out of the ordinary, I simply returned/re-l

Hi therte, i want to batch rename images. I want to remove all digits after the first 7 digits / only keep the forst 7 digits. Any idea or a expression how to handle it with batch reame in adobe bridge? Many thanks!

After viewing a folder of images then closing the window, I can not later drag & drop a folder of images to bridge. It is completely unresponsive unless I quit the program and start over. On a related note, my preferred behaviour would be to drag & drop multiple folders then have them each open in a separate window.
