I was batch renaming about 1,200 photos. I manually moved all the photos in chronological order and assigned ratings...some photos had five-star ratings, and others had no ratings. During the batch rename process, Bridge started to act wonky, then the spinning pinwheel. Finally, Bridge crashed. After restarting Bridge, all my files were entirely out of order, and hundreds that previously had five stars now had no rating and vice versa. I noticed that many files had also been assigned a '(1)' ending and some a 'copy' ending. I retraced my steps and realized that I chose a three-digit numbering sequence in the batch rename settings (beginning with 001), but I had over 1,000 photos to batch rename. I think this is what caused the problem. If you've ever watched your finder folder during a batch rename, you will know that Bridge runs a script that maybe creates a copy of the file, then renames and reassigns metadata, etc. I think that my choosing a three-digit ending for a four-digit volum

I have recently changed from 2010 disk based versions of Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom and Acrobat Pro to the Create Cloud versions.  Unfortunately, Adobe has destroyed the UI, usability and functionality of Acrobat Pro and Lightroom.  Great tools and functions from 2010 have disappeared in the 2023 versions.  The intuitive layouts of 2010 have disappeared in the 2023 versions. I am begging you, Adobe....... please do not destroy Bridge's UI and functionality.  Do not make changes to the UI that shift things around needlessly, do not hide tools within hard to find menus, do not remove functionality. There are some changes in the latest Bridge (compared to 2010) that have been useless.  Eg Metadata info in the Metadata panel has wastefully and unnecessarily been indented so the palette needs to be widened far more to be able to see the information.  Why do the indent?  There was NOTHING achieved by it. Another change in Bridge is that I c

I Updated LR, and the Mac OS (15.6) in the last few daysoptimized my catalog,restarted my computer and ran disc utilites.nothing works..this has been an ongoing issue, occasionally i have been able to upload images. last time someone told me to try an older version of LR and i got a bunch of images to upload, then updated my OS and and LR thinking it would all work with everything updated. No go. From the chat it told me to trun off the CPU thing, that did not help either. I am totally frustrated, the Z8 has been out for a couple of years, this should be solved by now. I did send crash reports the last time this happened, did not see any results from that. thanks

Adobe Bridge became an essential part of my workflow since version 1, but the current version, 15.1.0.635, is a complete bust. It crashes on the first or second click or access.I read some former community solutions and found that on a PC, going into the Roaming folder and deleting the Adobe Bridge and Bridge 2025 folders temporarily fixes the problem. I'm a long time user of Adobe Bridge, basically since it first was introduced.  Over the last year I've run into a consistent problem with Bridge that is making it a big problem to use. And recently I found out a friend who teaches Photography at 2 high schools has been having the same issues. 1) If I have Bridge open to show the Photoshop files in a folder it often will not update and reflect new files. For instance if I save V1, V2 etc of a working file not all of those files will show up. The same thing happens when I add JPEGs to a folder of images I need to work on. The solution has been to quit and restart Bridge, which becomes a bit of a pain. (And yes, I can confirm the files are there by checking in the Finder.)2) Bridge frequently crashes. Quite often it's just random. I will have it open while working on a file in Photoshop etc and will see Bridge has crashed. This was working fine in hardware preview on Aug 12. Now on Aug 14, any attempt to preview a .mp4 file hangs the whole Bridge client requiring termination and restart. Other file previews are fine.No other system updates have been performed unless Adobe silently updated MediaCore etc in the last two days. Post-problem, updating to the latest Nvidia driver 580.97 did not fix. Only software rendering works as a workaround. 

When I start Bridge it takes at least 30 seconds before anything appears in the program - all of the side panels and main content panel are totally empty. When I click anywhere on the program during this time, the title bar changes to "Bridge (Not Responding)" and the cursor just spins - clicking anywhere again just turns the display light grey and produces a pop-up with 2 options - "close the program" or "wait for program to respond". This occurs whether Bridge opens in a totally empty folder or one containing over 500 RAW photos. My first thought was that the Bridge cache was either full or exceeded the allocated size, but compacting the cache, purging 100% previews in cache and purging all local cache files doesn't affect this behaviour. When Bridge is starting, the Windows Task Manager shows Bridge using 0% cpu, no disk activity, and program not responding.I always keep Bridge up to date, so has affected previous versions during the past 2-3 months but has now become

I use both Raw and Jpg files and Bridge will not recognize them on external dirves.  It displays the files on my main computer hard drive, but does not communicate with external drives.  Any suggestions?   [Note: I moved you to a new, separate thread as this is a different issue]

Hi,Bridge is the only place when I can`t preview HEVC files. AE and Premiere has no any problem (latest versions as Bridge).Windows Explorer has no any problem, too (K-lite pack). Is there any solution to preview HEVC clips in Bridge?Thanks,Adam

Bridge do not display HVEC (H256) video thumbnails, installed 3rd party (K-Lite) codecs etc, nothing worked up to now.Any ideas how to resolve, or if HVEC is not supported is there an alternative software to Bridge?

On the daily I'm using the shortcuts to change a picture's star and I got tired of using ctrl+1/ctrl+2/ctrl+3 etc. So I wanted to change them to 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and remove the ctrl key all together. However, even after changing it, those keys still default to some kind of navigation actions.  I don't know if I set it up wrong or something.

After having trouble copying files from an iPad to my computer, I changed the setting in the iPad Photos to "Keep Originals". That allowed me to successfully copy files from the iPad, but now when I use Bridge to try and view the thumbnails and preview the videos, it does not work on the files I just copied. I can see the thumbnails and preview other videos that came from my iPad before the setting change, but none of the ones after. Note, I can open and play the videos in Windows Media Player without any problem. CC Bridge version 10.0.0.124 Note I have done this as suggested in another post, but it has not fixed the issue:Edit > Preferences > "File Type Associations" and I went to .mov and .mp4 and set it to Premiere Pro by hitting "Browse" and selecting the app icon. Thanks for any advice.

Adobe Bridge 2025 (15.1.1.729) on my MacBook M1 Pro running Sequoia 15.5.  When I preview a selected thumbnail by hitting the space bar, Bridge displays a full-screen image and a notification that it is generating a 100% High Quality Image. However, the image is not 100% pixel for pixel and appears blurry. I can force Bridge to generate the preview with this workaround:1. Click the preview to zoom out to "fit in window" view.2. Click again to 100% zoom in.After a second, I get the real pixel preview. So I know Bridge can do it, but this method of clicking in and out costs so much time with multiple images. Note: once the rendering of the image is complete, the preview looks good from there. This only happens to new images. I've tried every variety of preference settings for cache and cache management. Is there a fix other than reverting Bridge 2025 for this? Script support is also gone from Bridge 2025, so I can't use a script to force the preview generation. If I h

I opened Bridge today and it had automatically updated to 2024. When it asked me to imprort previous settings, I said yes, but my keywords did not import. Are my keywords totally gone because of the automatic update? Why did they not import over when I said yes? 

I add metadata to raw files in Bridge (version 15.1.1.729), and then export them to jpeg. The problem is that if I make a change to the description metadata item in the jpeg file, using Bridge, other applications (including Preview on MacOS) still show the original description. To get it right I have to make the change on the raw files, delete the jpeg files, and then re-export them. This adds significant time to my workflow.   Using the Jimpl.com metadata viewer I can see that the old description remains in the legacy IIM Caption-Abstract field, while the new one shows up in XMP description. The IPTC doc says that these two map to each other.   The attached jpeg shows the edited description (T. Wicklund #22) in XMP description and the original description (Tim Wicklund #22) in IIM Caption-Abstract. Since version 15.1.1.729 I cannot dowlload files using Bridge. My memory card does not show up at all under the "get photos from camera". Win10 file explorer does, however see the card and files on it. Is there a fix to this? Thanks, Ed 

I have Bridge 2024.  I have several questions about thumbnails and previews.  The Adobe documentation I have found is vague.  Questions:  1) What specifically is the difference between a thumbnail and a preview?  2) When and where are they used, and how?  3)  When are they generated, and where are they stored?  4) Is there a way to tell Bridge to keep thumbnails FOREVER [I don't care about disk space.]  My problem is going to a folder with many -large- images, having generated the thumbnails at one time in the past, and finding myself sitting for a -long- time while Bridge slowly regenerates and displays the thumbnails.  This makes revisiting older image folders very tedious.

Is there a panel or setting that will show a file's physical path location when clicked on.I've examined all of the panels and have checked settings.Scenario: While viewing hundreds of files (show items from subfolders), when I click on a file obviously there is a ton of info about the selected file. But I would like to know exactly (the path) to where that file is located. IS there a setting or particular panel, workspace or view that would show this?

Anytime I change or add metadata to an image in a folder all the images in the folder are duplicated.  If I do it again they are triplicated.  I can clean the folder up by jumping to another folder then back to the original.  Never happened before in the 20 years I've been using Bridge.  Any help is appreciated.Bridge 15.1.1.729Imac Ventura 13.7.7
