P: Photoshop 22.0: Where is Line Weight/Width and Pixels options?

I'm having trouble using the Line Tool in PS 22.0.0.

How do I set the width/weight of the line? In PS 21 there was a "Weight" option along the top bar, but I don't see that anymore. Am I missing it? Or did it move?

This might be a separate issue, but the lines I'm drawing are not showing up. I have a fill color and stroke color selected, but when I make a line, I don't see it. I just see a blue outline of where it is... the same that might happen if I made a "path" instead of a "shape."

I just need to make a line with a width/weight of 20px.

Yeah this is crazy. I cannot fathom why they would make this change. Why give us less?

Dear Adobe,

Please restore pixel line option, it is Photoshop, not Illustrator..

Thanks

Because the code for that functionality has mysteriously vanished from the face of the planet and has to be written anew??  Really the fix is simple, yet time consuming.  Put the correct code back in place THEN create a new section for this new weird line thing you all want to have.  It's sad to have to stay on an old version for this functionality to work, but be missing out on a few of the cool new ones that were added.  When a company gets too big for its own britches I guess.  lol

@Kaz Vorpal , again, apologies for the long time it's taking on this. There isn't a switch to flip to just bring something back like this, unfortunately. We've logged over 50 issues to work through in order to get this simple-sounding functionality back, and we're down to the last eight at this time.

You could use the pencil or brush tool with the shift key to draw a straight line on a layer mask. I realize there are other attributes of the former line tool like the live pivot interaction that are not there, but it's a workaround if using the previous version of Photoshop isn't also an option.

@Kaz Vorpal, I certainly wasn't condoning Adobe's destruction of the line tool, simply thanking @CMJRoss_CRE for prompting me to do something I should have been doing for years!

@JemShaw

They certainly COULD have fixed the line tool with this update. Someone else in the thread tried to say Adobe couldn't fix this instantly, but remember that they intentionally broke the line tool. It wasn't a bug, it was a conscious choice on their part. Therefore it should be quite reversible.

Add to the list of tasks that any developer with sense would have known they were breaking:

Using the line tool in layer masks.

This is no longer possible, and is something I was trying to do, yesterday. But you can't add a shape to a layer mask. And, like everyone else here, I don't find the multi-step process of creating a path and stroking it to be an adequate substitute. We professionals care a lot about the time consumed in work, and while this may not seem slow to an Adobe bureaucrat, it adds up.

As a reminder, as we work to restore the line tool, the previous version of Photoshop can be installed.

nice you have time to do this where we:,the paying users are losing money while waiting...

I cannot fathom who would ever consider it a good idea to cut the pixel functionality from the line tool, especially since there are suggestions asking to ADD pixel modes to other vector tools (like the freeform pen tool) dating back years.

Apart from all the tedious extra steps added, with the removal of the pixel option for the line tool we can no longer use it on masks, which is extremely inconvenient.

The best solution with the current vector-as-default approach would probably be a [universal "pixel/auto rasterize" checkbox] in the top bar for all vector tools; Especially if that enabled using them on masks again.

Good thought, will do - thanks!
