P: Photoshop 22.1.0 - Program Error using Spot Healing tool and using Select and Mask

Repeatedly ...even after restarting PS and/or rebooting laptop, I try to use the spot healing tool and incessantly get this popup:

"Could not complete your request because of a program error"

All I can do is click the OK button and then continue until a minute or so goes by and I get the same thing happening again. Another buggy update???

I don't understand how a software package like PS could possibly be released (2021) with an issues like it has with the slow ACR features (useless at this point).  Yep, back to version 2020 and hope for a quick fix to 2021.

@Curtindale

Yes, me - and countless other users - have reported that performance (especially subjectively felt 'snappyness') CONSIDERABLY dropped with the latest 'updates'...

It's so absurd: 3 years ago I could work on 16-bit images without noticing any lag whatsoever.

With the current PS version I have to compromise with 8-bit and still feel some lag. And that with a considerably faster machine.

It's sad (but somehow understandably....), that Adobe neither responds to messages like that nor really understands the graveness of the situation concerning the long-term future of PS given the current business behaviour - but probably doesn't really care as a company. 😕😕

There's a cycle of ups and downs of civilizations. And there's a life cycle of software programs. Maybe Adobe has given up in modernizing PS code or investing in it any further and just accepts an end of it's lifetime in the medium future, milking customers till the end (which makes total sense from an economic point of view - unfortunately not from an 'artistic' point of view of loyal customers like me).

I have been unsuccessful in using PS CC 2021 ACR to edit large groups of RAW files (painfully slow and hangs).

I finally had to launch PS CC 2020 ACR and things were fast and smooth.

I am running on two Dell Computers i9 Laptop w/32GB RAM and i9 Desktop w/64GB RAM.

I would be happy to beta test fixes / updates.

I will follow this thread hoping for answers.

I find PS CC 2021 ACR unusable (slow and painfully lagging).  I am trying to run on my i9 Dell Laptop w/32GB RAM and my i9 Dell Desktop w/64GB RAM.

In order to finish my ACR editing I finally had to go back and launch PS CC 2020 and things seemed to smooth out.  I would be happy to assist in beta testing fix / updates.

I posted earlier regarding the Spot Heal issues I was having with version 22.1.0. I've been using the same version on my laptop for the past three days and have issues at all.

Both are I7's with 16GB, the key difference is the Graphics cards; Desktop GTX780; Laptop GTX 960. I mention just in case someone from Adobe is looks at this thread.

I will try and down grade PS on my Desktop to 21.2.4 as suggested earlier. I don't recall seeing an option for this on the Creative Cloud though.

Merry Xmas all.

I have been getting the same error ("Could not complete your request because of a program error") using the healing brush, which led me to this thread. Photoshop 22.1 on Windows 10 build 19042, AMD 3950X, RTX2070 Super.

Running into the same issue on images that I am editing.  Ported into Photoshop from Lightroom (cloud based).

I am able to spot heal brush a majority of the image, but it seems like particular areas of the image it does not like.

It is rather annoying and wouldn't mind sending data along to help get the issue resolved soon.
