P: Program error when saving, lag when zooming, changes not reflecting in document window (macOS)

Since the 22.1 update, MAJOR bugs:

- ‘could not save because of a program error’ when saving, work around: hiding a few layers or folders.

- major lag when zooming in

- actions and changes delay in showing, to the point where they never show up - once I close the document and quit Photoshop and go back in the changes are  visible.

what’s going on??

Hi *karlis dovnorovics  Can you try re-installing version 22.0.1 in the mean time?  Here is the link to the re-install instructions: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Additionally, would you like to participate in our PreRelease program?  It would be the latest Photoshop with a fix to your issue.

Hi @Drounding thank you for informing us of the text issue you are having.  Would you like to be invited to our PreRelease program.  This would be an updated version of Photoshop with most likely a fix to your issue.

@JeffreyTranberry

I am willing and can send you another .PSD file that evidences the problem straight away. I worked around the issues on a previous image, but this one is straight up stupid. I'm trying to content aware fill a tiny sliver in the corner.

``Could not complete your request because of a program error.''

over and over. No obvious solution this time. My version is PS 22.1.0 my system is iMac Big Sur OS/X 11.1 w/ 48GB RAM and terabytes of free disk space. The image is 8 layer stack of 45MPix each.

P.S. I am willing to take a debug image of PhotoShop.

P.P.S. PhotoShop has crashed my Mac twice now. Both times, I've forwarded the crash dump info to Apple. Please contact Apple for further information.

I have this issue as well on Windows 10 - as well as other text issues in this new release (v22.1.0). I've reverted back to 2020 (v21.2.4)

I cannot save my files all of a sudden. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PS but still get same error message. I have also gone into Preferences and unselected graphics Processor and this has not worked either. Please advise what to do. Thank you.

Hello my PS just updated yesterday to the new 22.0 (2021) and today I got this error every time I open files and when I try to save them. Preview of the file also keeps vanishing.

I tried doing what Adobe recommends and the only thing that worked for me was to reset all preferences (first I backed them up by copying entire folder somewhere on my computer)

(STEP 5 worked for me)

So I just spent over an hour trying to fix this so I decided to post this for anyone else who may be having the same problem.

PS has anyone upgraded to Mac Big Sur? I'm worried things won't work properly (like my old Illustrator CS6 no longer works after updating my OS so now I have to pay for it)

Mac catalina

I have over 3 TB space on my mac
