Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows why camera raw is applying a crop to images whenever they're opened in Photoshop? I'm supplying a couple of reference photos to this, one of which is the image opened in faststone viewer and the other is the same image opened in camera raw. The content of the image has had to be covered hence the black boxes.
My old laptop broke (screen became detached from keyboard). I installed Lightroom 6 on my new Windows-based computer, downloaded Camera Raw 10.5, and ran it. When I go to import *.cr2 photos from my Canon 6D Mark II, I get an error message. The message says, "The files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom (163)". When I checked the Adobe website, it states that the Canon 6D Mark II is supported by Camera Raw Versions 9.12 and above. It worked fine on my old computer. What is the problem?
There appears to be no way to disable Rich Tooltips in ACR. Disabling Rich Tooltips in Photoshop Preferences disables it in Photoshop, but not in ACR. How can I turn them off in ACR?
I start my usual workflow by opening a RAW file in the RAW 14.1 editor to add some colour/ tonal adjustments, before opening the file as a smart object in Photoshop 2022. A while ago, I've become really intrigued by the 'select subject' masking option. As we know, in most cases the selection is great, however, not always perfect as the selection goes off and picks up some odd fragments of the background. As I'm editing some outdoor fashion shoots (still in RAW editor), I am trying to perfect the subject selection mask by adding and subtracting, using the brush tool. However, I’ve recently discovered that when I open the smart object in Photoshop and then try to re-edit some of my mask selections in RAW editor, it recognises the mask selection, but doesn’t let me edit it.I’ve noticed that the heavier the edit of the selection, the more often the issue happens.I am editing CR2 and CR3 files. The Photoshop version is the most recent 23.1.1 and the OS is the newest Monterey 12.2.

Why ACR/LR doesn't use optics correction parameters that Canon cameras (R-mount) put in .CR3 raws ?Why insist on customers using only .LCP lens profiles w/o providing an alternative option when the way .LCP profiles are used/created seem to be subpar vs optics correction already present in .CR3 raw files... example (a well known for ~10 years probably "noise banding" matter) ... if ACR/LR is fed by DNG file from Iridient C-Transformer which can extract optics correction parameters from .CR3 raw file and write that as tags in DNG file ACR/LR does not exhibit "noise banding", but when using imposed on users .LCP profile "noise banding" is present - screenshots https://postimg.cc/gallery/4VdhkBHcome on... Iridient is one-man shop and Brian Griffith can do it alone and multi-billion Adobe can't let customers skip their .LCP profiles and use available data in .CR3 ???
cannot open adobe camera raw apps
Does anybody know if the Adobe DNG / TIFF Spec has a way to handle packed RAW formats? That is RAW image data where the pixels are not contiguous in memory? For example of a 12-bit RAW image with a packed format 2 pixels are spread across 3 bytes like this: AAAAAAAA BBBBBBBB BBBBAAAA Is there a way to specify using DNG tags that the pixels are stored this way and to have the DNG readers be able to unpack it? If this is not supported, I would really like to see Adobe adopt this.
About the future of Adobe software and asking here: Those who know don’t talk. Those who talk don't know.
I did an adjustment in ACR on jepg, went great. But now the jpeg in Brdige opends still in ACR, though all done, I would prefer it defaulting straint to open in PS. thanks. PS to open orginally in Bridge I did right click, open in ACR, but seems Bridege, "sees" there is a ACR adjustment in the file and then still opens it in ACR, not normal PS default, ie when click eneter to open.
Hi, can anyone please tell me where to find the lens profile tab in camera raw - it seems to be missing You need to ask program questions in the forum for the program you are usingTo ask in the forum for your program please start at https://community.adobe.com/Moving from Using the Community (which is about the forums) to the correct forum... In older versions of Photoshop, in Camera Raw, I could edit a photo, select a batch, and sync all settings - or a subset of them. While I see where that option is in Camera Raw, when I apply it they almost never work. This along with the fact that when I select, say 5 photos, and then set the contrast this also doesn't apply to all selected photos. What is going on here? I even tried setting the contrast in one photo, selecting the 5 following, clicked sync settings and selected only contrast, and... nothing. I edit thousand(s) of photos and with this system not working my process is being greatly slowed. Any insights appreciated!
I am increasingly unhappy: After Installation of MS Windows 11 and newest version of Photoshop, AND trying out all hints given by Adobe, Camera Raw continues to be unaccisble. Here is the error code. I urgently need to get this fixed. We've recently moved our workflow from Lightroom into Bridge, as Lightroom has proven problematic managing hundreds of clients and galleries. Bridge also allows us to work via Dropbox and we don't have any database-sync issues like Lightroom did. One of the issues we're facing is cropping. In ACR, cropping an image (C) for some reason zooms-out of the image, and does not return after the crop has been applied. I can press Command+0 or "Fit" in the lower left-hand corner, but this makes cropping hundreds of images very inefficient. I was hoping there is a solution to this bug, or whether Adobe is aware of it? Thanks much.
I'm looking for help in regards to numbering, when saving files in Camera RAW. I want the first file saved to start with the number 1 rather than have no number, so that I can keep the order of images in tact. It's a pain having to relabel that one file so that it appears first. I've looked within CC and on this forum for answers but to no avail. I can see the "Start Numbering With" option but it's grayed out and it's not accessible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Using Camera Raw 14.1. macOS Monterey 21 Trying to use the new masking tool. Attempting to select subject. At first, fould the subject quickly. Then it stopped finding the suject. I hit select, the inverted it and this is what I got. I'm tryong to burn down the background. What's the problem?
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 11.1 Build 202112022200-7fd1f998 Camera Raw 14.1 ISSUE: An unknown combination of adjustments 'breaks' the new mask / brush mask tool, causing LR classic to make the brush size 'maximum size' regardless of what the brush settings are actually set to. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1) Open a RAW file - In my case, raw from a Nikon D600 (Full exif on request) (1a / OPTIONAL: Confirm the mask/brush tool is working as expected) 2) Apply the preset (made by me) "Frosty Caravan" (preset attached) 3) Attempt to use the brush tool. If the issue has been replicated you will notice it that regardless of whatever brush size, feather, strength you select, the brush will act as if all sliders have been set to max - size, feather, flow, etc - all act as if set to max, despite this change not being inputted to or reflected by the sliders. Picture attached of a single click using the mask/brush tool - note the settings to the right,
Hi there! I noticed that I can't copy and paste the preferences from the previous photo. It's not the first time I've discovered the issue - both on Windows and MacOSHow can I fix it?
In the older version of ACR I could hit the Right Arrow key and go to the next image. I used to crop all my images in the same session as it was very efficient that way. Simply crop, hit Right, crop, hit Right and so on and so forth and it would be a quick process to recompose the shots very quickly. In the new version hitting the arrow keys only moves the image around, and I've pretty much tried everything but there is no way to move to the next image with a single key stroke. Is there any way we can revert to using the arrow keys for that? Thank you!
I really, really can't express how frustrating it was to discover Camera Raw User Presets were moved and hidden in a place not easily discovered. I shoot product photography under studio lighting and apply a user preset to every shot. It's critical to my client that the colors match, image to image and they have for the 10 years I've been working with them. The language I used cursing Adobe while I tried to find where my user presets had gone and how to apply them to this next batch of 70 images I have to produce for my client under intense deadline pressure was colorful. PLEASE put more thought into this kind of thing. Camera Raw 14.1.0.993Mac OSXPS: as a forum note, it's not allowing me to post this until I choose among a list of canned Topics, none of which apply to this subject, any of which will simply confuse the conversation.
I am confused - Can someone explain to me why the MP change depending on the image when imported into Camera Raw when the setting is set to default? I use the same camera everytime - Sony A7II - and it shoots at 24.3 MP so I don't know what this means... Should I click resize to fit and set it at 24 MP?I am also wondering what is the idea Raw Defaults settings? The Adobe Default or Camera Settings?
Hi ThereDoes anyone know if there is a way to sort images into their capture time order in Adobe Camera Raw? I am a wedding photographer and use two cameras with different lenses on wedding day. I'd like to deliver my final images to the client in their chronological order. AND by that I mean time/second within the day. Currently images order themselves by file name. There are a few different ordering alternatives; By Type, By Date Created, By Date Modified, By Size etc, etc. I'm yet to find a way to do this in Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom or Bridge. Lightroom version 5.1 appears to have; Capture Date, but as a look closely at my files, they are still not in chronological time order.
