What is the maximum length you can set for a Captivate Variable?

Hello all. First off, sorry for the scribbles.I have a client that wants the custom buttons (navigation) to appear after a learner answers a quiz question. The quiz is a single attempt quiz and is a requirement for for reporting purposes. I'm not sure how to make this happen since I can't apply an unhide action. Also, this navigation needs to stay unhidden for the entire course once the quiz question is answered. The user won't be able to answer the question but the hope is they can travel back and forth to read the content information. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,am trying to develop simulations and interactive slides, but either the new version slows down or hanged. Am using Mac it has ample space to accommodate captivate files. Any remedy?

Hello, After I installed Adobe Captivate again on my Macbook, I receive an error message saying An error occurred during activation. What can I do?

I'm working on a project for children. It consists of a series of activities. For instance, activity 1 they learn the names of objects. Activity 2 they place images (obejcts) on their names (drag and drop). The first activity uses MP3 sounds and the same sounds are used for the drag and drop activity. However, when adding sounds to draggable objects (startDrag) the sounds are saved as WAV sounds. At the end, I have doubled the size of audio. How do I add audio to draggable objects via advance actions so that I can use the same MP3 files?   

Hi there,I have created a quiz with some custom questions (i.e. not using any Captivate quiz templates). In these quiz questions have put shapes over a background image to ask learners to select the correct response, marked 'include in quiz' for the correct response, and used advanced actions to assign points to the correct response. Please see a screenshot of one of my custom quiz questions. However when I preview it and try to 'retake quiz', the old answers are cached there. Have tried the reset quiz javascript to no avail. Any tips? Or is this is a known bug? Thanks!

I have an issue where we have a text field on the last slide, but if the user types 'Shift + M' the TOC opens. I know this is a built in accessability feature, but is there any way to circumvent this?

I need to use fill in the blank questions for certain knowledge checks, but there is a significant risk of frustrating the student when they get questions wrong due to misspellings. On my end, I don't care about the spelling, I need them to understand the attribute. So far, we have gone the route of guessing every possible alternate spelling of words and setting those as acceptable answers, but I keep thinking that there has to be a better way. Is there any way to have a spell check feature on the student end? Any other solutions to this problem? To clarify, this is not the course creator end. This is for the student taking the elearning course. Other question types (e.g. multiple choice) will not work.

In Captiate 9 I set up a quiz to display all of the incorrectly answered questions, along with the correct and incorrectly selected response. I did this using javascript and then assigning the collected data to a Captivate User variable so I could display the information in a text object. While this code still works in a test updated from Captivate 9 to Captivate 2019, I can't duplate the work in a fresh test built in Captivate 2019.  While the javascript is working as expected, when I assign the data to my Captivate User variable, it is truncated to only 50 characters. In my working example, originally produced in Captivate 9, I can have many more characters without any problem.  What must I do, in Captivate 2019, to expand the size of the Captivate User variable? 

I'm trying to add a notes widget for learners to capture their reflections during an interactive video. There are 3 places for the learner to pause (using overlay). After the first pause, the note can be saved, and then click a button to jump to a bookmark and continue the video. The notepad icon shows up on all 3 overlay slides, but the continue button doesn't work on the second and third slides unless the note is deleted. If the note is deleted, even though previously saved by the learner, then the notepad that shows up on the third overlay slide doesn't have any of the previous notes on it, and the continue button won't work until the note is deleted.Any insight into this (or point me to a place to look) would be most welcome. Thanks.

Hello,I am revising one of my trainings, and I notice a strange problem. I have distributed 5 exercise questions during the training. On the last exercise question, the HTML5 preview seems to hang. Namely, when I submit the answer, the training freezes and the browser displays a message that the page is not responding. I am using MS Edge and Google Chrome as my browser, and the page stops responding on both. What can be the cause here? It's only on the last practice question, but on the previous ones it always hangs for a brief moment, but then continues.

Hello. I just installed Captivate 2019 onto a new machine due to a lease roll at work. I have an existing .cptx file I had previously been working on. I have opened the file so that I could edit the audio on one of the slides. When I bring up the Slide Audio window, every time I click the Preview checkbox so that I can actually view the slide that I'm narrating, Captivarte freezes up (Loading Slide) and I have to close it and restart it. I have tried this about six times so far. I've cleared my cache. I've made sure there are no updates waiting for me. I wanted to call Adobe to get help (as I've done in the past), but I get a message stating "Please contact your administrator for help. A member of your organization is a designated contact for issues with your Adobe products." I can assure you no such person exists at my organization. Beyond frustrating.

Can anybody help? Does captivate 2019 create e-learning that complies with WCAG so that products can expand text to up to 300% without it spilling off the slide?

I am trying to do a software simulation in Training mode. When previewing, instead of the user being able to type into the text entry box, what I typed automatically generates, as if it were a demo. I've scoured the forums without success. I am using Adobe Captivate 2019. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, is there a possibility that I can freely move and scale the objects in a custom state? I can't change anything with the lock, but I don't know how to get rid of the lock. Thanks for any help.

Any assistance would much appreciated. My checkmarks next to the table of contents are not all aligned correctly.   

I have already created about 10 video demos and had no issues with viewing my video recordings before or after entering the Edit Video Demo section or after adding Objects like the Highlight Box. This appears to have suddenly changed, and I can't seem to find a fix anywhere. I've attached a video here, but it appears to be tied to the screen magnification, which will allow me to "find" the video, but it disappears once I hit play.  Has anyone else run into this? I've attempted to reset my settings, but it hasn't helped.

When a quiz is completed and the student selects to review the quiz we would like to put in a specific statement for each of the questions as it's reviewed.  On this particular project we'd want the response only on questions they got correct.  Future quizzes we will probably want responses for both.

We have a powerpoint that we published as a video and then inserted into captivate and published as a SCORM package for our LMS.  In the published SCORM package, once placed on our LMS, there is a couple of words or phrases that duplicate but that does not exist in the original.  It is not tied to any external objects as it's a video from Powerpoint.  For example, it says in the published file "July first first" while in the original audio it just says "July first".  Anyone have issues with this? Any suggestions?
