Captivate

Hi, I am updating a course to HTML5. When I check the publish to HTML5, I notice that I get a black border around all types of clickable objects when I click on them (click boxes, shapes that are used as buttons, etc.), this in several types of internet browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge).Is there any way to get rid of these black borders? This is an example of such a border:

I am furious over this and have no idea what to do about it.I had the same error as https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate/unknown-exception-source-components-ziputils-cpinternalziputils-cpp716/m-p/10587055I followed the advice on here and restarted.  Captivate checked for updates and FAILED to install the update.  Now all I get is:I've never had Captivate 7.0.  And all I can think of is to completely reinstall.  I'm furious.I cannot see anything from Adobe that explains what is happening or why.This is simply not good enough.<rant over>Dave  

Hi,  I just made a mistake that is going to cost me a huge amount of time. I need to copy text from Powerpoint to Captivate. I have set up master slides in Captivate with caption boxes with all the correct text settings that I want. (Veranda, 18).The first bit of text I copied across from Powerpoint. A pop-up appeared in captivate and ask me about keeping the formatting, I misunderstood and selected the wrong option which kept the formatting from Word (Arial, 19) and not the formatting I set up in Captivate (Veranda, 18). To make matters worse, I selected the little checkbox that said "do not show again".Please help me, I need to find a way to change my pasting options so that when I paste into Captivate, the formatting from Captivate stays the same. I have a huge volume of stuff that I need to copy across...

With the additional options available now in Cap2019 for using SVGs, I have a couple of questions.Background: We have a standard template that we use for all our training, and multiple themes to use (mainly for color changes) for the various major apps that we train. Questions:1. Now that we can edit colors of SVG images within Captivate, can those colors be tied to either a theme or a style to maintain consistency?2. It doesn't appear that the Copy/Paste Appearance options are available for SVGs - unless I'm missing something. Correct?3. Is it possible in the creation of the SVGs (using Inkscape or Illustrator) to "lock" layers or parts of an image so that the color of those specific layers/parts can not be edited within Captivate?Thanks!

I need to make sure that the student can continue from the slide where he left off last time, my class is being published in HTML on a common web server, I use a non-LMS system to manage the classes and grades. There would be some way for me to be able to get the value of the note and pass it via js and then when the student logs in I insert this value in the class and send the student directly to the slide on which he stopped.Obs. I use quiz in class.

HI, I have a little issue with the sound on my project. I recorded an audio file that is relevant for more than one slide. It was recorded directly in Captivate. In the first slide I encounter with the audio, it plays as it is supposed to be. But on the other slides, it doesn't play at all, except if I first visit my help slide (with a different audio) and return to the original slide. Any reason? Any way to fix this? Is it just that you can't play the same audio twice in a row?

I own Adobe Captivate, it is on my old MacBook. I needed to get a new MacBook, so I figured getting Captivate over wouldn't be an issue. I downloaded Creative Cloud, I can see that I have Captivate through my Adobe portal... should be nice and easy. Should be.... but it isn't. Here's my experience... I signed into Adobe, and downloaded CC. No Captivate to be found. Okayyyyyy. Maybe it's somewhere else. Oh look, a free trial. I'll download that and activate Captivate. Got the free trial downloaded... then Adobe wants me to Activate the app. Nice and easy, it just wants me to sign in. PERFECT, I'm already signed in with my Adobe Credentials, so bing-bang-boom now I have... wait, what the what? What activation code??? A serial number???  Maybe I minssed something. Check back in Adobe's online portal. Yup, I own the softwre. There it is. No serial number though. Restart Captivate.... nope, still telling me I'm on a trial. So I'm signed into CC, can see I own t

Hi, I am attempting to create a blank project using Adobe Captivate (2019 release) with 4K resolution 3840x2160. But when I try to adjust the custom size the software defaults it to 3200x2160.  Any idea as to why that is and how to fix it? Also, what custom size would you recommend so that the output is 4K? I have a monitor with 3840x2160 reolution and another one with 2496x1664. Thanks,Vera

I am using the League theme as a template for an elearning project. I replaced the theme images with my own using (Change image), but when I Preview the project in the browser (Safari) this is what some of the images look like.  MacBook ProMac OS BigSur 11.2.1Captivate 2019 11.5.5.678 Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please help. I had a trial 30 day version. In it I created SCORM lessons. After 30 days, these lessons stopped working. If I purchase a Subscription for 12 months, these lessons will continue to run or only for the duration of the license payment. So only a year?Thanks

We have seven hundred trainings we created, each one being around 200-300 slides long. Recently, regulations governing our trainings have changed so that they now require the learner to be in each section and the training for a certain amount of time. To do this, I am guessing we need to add an action hiding the next button until the audio on each slide is done. Two questions:  Is there a different or better way to accomplish this that maybe I am not aware of? If not, since the audio is a separate file on each slide, is there some kind of mass action we can apply to each slide to tell the course not to advance until the audio is done?  Thanks, Arthur

Greetings.Using one Captivate 8  file to password protect access to another Captivate 8 file.The user logs in with their user name, which is assigned to a variable $$username$$.Can I somehow transfer this user name to another Captivate file which is opened by the first file?Hope the question is clear.Thanks so much.Daniel.

Hi all, I hope someone can help with this - I've created a quick which has a quirky marking system so I've generated the mark in JavaScript as none of the built in ones do exactly what I need.  That bit is fine; I get the question marks in a variable called var_Quiz_Score which I can see or put on a slide with the usual $$var_Quiz_Score$$.My question is how can I push this into the quiz score?    I believe I need to update cpQuizInfoPointsscored but I cannot work out how to do this.  I've read the page https://elearning.adobe.com/2017/02/custom-quiz-scoring-in-adobe-captivate/ from but this doesn't seem to do the job I need.Any help gratefully received.CheersDave

Morning I am working on a project (been asked to do a webinar using Captivate), so I am developing screens with narration so this can be published and accessed as and when. The work I have done has been commented on as very like powerpoint rather than an interactive video. Any advice on how I can make this more engaging, signpost to and tutorials etc. Thanks, any help appreciated.

Hi all, i have seen similar posts about phonegap just suddenly deciding not to work anymore. Mine stopped 4 days ago, and was a blow to my work, as i converted projects to app on a daily basis for e-learning purposes. I've tried what i could find about fixing the issue but with no success..it's definately phonegap side.. i'm including the project config file and phonegap error log here... please have a look and see if you see something that might be causing this.   i'm using captivate 19 updated version and windows 10 64-bit   TIA..   Riegal

Hello there, Is it possible to move the progress bar around? What if I wanted it to appear in the middle of the screen and not along the bottom? What if I wanted to shorten its length so that it only appears on half of the screen? Is it possible to edit the progress bar in this manner?

I've recently upgraded to Cap 2019. When I publish a project I am getting an unknown exception:..\..\..\source\components\ziputils\CPInternalZipUtils.cpp716What I'm trying to do is create the zip file for uploading onto our LMS. I've had no problems doing this with previous versions of Captivate.I'll ask our IT guys to look into it as I'm not a techie person! Can anyone give me some guidance as to what to tell IT to do please?Thanks

Hello - Would anyone be able to provide me with (or point me in the direction to) documentation on how to get a voice we purchased from Neospeech/ReadSpeaker into Captivate 2019 (v11.5.5.553)? My actual issue is that I am on a Windows 10 laptop and I have installed the ReadSpeaker voice into the Adobe Captivate Voices 2019 x64 folder based on the instructions provided by the ReadSpeaker company. I can see the voice (Ashley) in the list of voices in Captivate, but when I select that voice it instead plays as Microsoft David.

A customer called out a potential bug that I wanted to raise up.  During an exam, if the learner gets a question wrong, they can hit F5 on the keyboard and reset the question. We like to provide immediate feedback per question. It’s been brought to our attention that folks are exploiting the F5 option to review the corrective feedback, hit F5, and then answer the question correctly.  If the learner gets the question correct and hits F5, the question advances.  Is there a way to send the question data and bookmark their location before the learner clicks next?Has this issue been brought up in the past? 

Hello all, I'm receiving this Unknown exception error message with every Captivate File I try to update/save.I have already tried restarting my computer and Adobe Captivate. When I click to "retry" I get a "fatal error" has occured error message.  I'm working on a training module and need to update it for release, but cannot get passed these messages. I have Captivate 2019 version 11.5.1.499 Any ideas? TIA

Hi, I have a project on Captivate (I"m on a free trial, vers 11.5.5.553). First I publish it and I run it. In the middle of my project, there are 4 branches, whatever the branch I choose, when I arrive at my 23rd slide from the start, if I click on the smart shape used as a button, the whole project freezes, and after a little while I have a script too long message (in french: Cette page web ne répond pas à cause d'un script de longue durée). There is nothing particular about that slide, just an image, a help button that takes you to a help slide (and then back to the slide last visited), and the shape used as a button with a "go to" action that takes you to a random question slide further down the project. The slide before the one where the problem appears is a random question slide, with an advanced action on entry, and another one on success\failure. I have many other advanced actions before that slide. Technically they are all ok. I can't figure out what the problem is...&nbsp

Hello, I have several projects that I have been working on. I am using smart shapes as buttons and now when I publish the projects the buttons have to be clicked at the bottom center for it to work. Has anyone experienced this? I have updated to the latest version of captivate. The buttons work fine when I preview the project. I'd like to add that this only began happening on Thursday, I had previously published these projects and the buttons worked, it only stopped when I went back to make edits.
