Captivate

Hello, all.I am trying to find a way to give our learners an option to restart a course once they have completed it their first time. Our LMS does not have the capability to allow multiple attempts at online courses and I'm trying to figure out a workaround in the meantime. Our goal is to allow our learners an opportunity to revisit any course they have completed if they wish to revisit information later on in their training process. Right now, when a learner is done with the course, it shows that they have completed it in the LMS (which is perfect), but when they click on the course to access it again, they are stuck on the last page and cannot start fresh at the beginning. As far as quiz answers being saved when someone restarts the course, I don't have a preference.  From what I have researched and tried, this is what I've come across.... 1. In the Project Settings I can choose to Loop Project. While I like this idea, learners shouldn't be taken back to the beginning

Up until January we published our Captivates as .exe files for our clients to review.  Now that that option has been taken away, can anyone recommend a different way to send clients a sample (interactive with quizzes usually) product to review for approval?

Can I use a bitable clip within Captivate?

We are creating a project that has fluid boxes. We need to have MP4 video in this project also. Can you insert a MP4 into a fluid box? or do you do this a different way?

Anyone else running into this issue?  Basically, when creating a new style for an object or text caption, the dialog box will attempt to open but not fully. Looks like it is shrunk, but you are unable to expand it. Won't let you close it and you are locked out of the software. Have to do a hard close via task manager to resolve which causes a loss of work Has been happening quite freqently over the last few weeks, can't seem to figure out the cause. Any help or insight would be appreciated. 

I am unable to take a complete screen shot, so hope I can explain myself clearly:When I am looking for a project to launch and work on, via Adobe Captivate I can open up a folder as below.When I place my mouse pointer over any of these I get a small pop-up wondow (cann capture this) which tells me followingType / Title / Date Modified / Size.Where does the title information come from that you see in the pop-up? The title details I am seeing are not the same as I have save the project as...and I am worried when this is published people are going to see the incorrect title.NoelStaffordshireEngland

I'm working on converting some Captivate courses I inherited, so that they'll play in HTML5. The original creator used tons of rollovers, which I'm busy replacing with click boxes. One way they used rollovers was to optionally show definitions for words that were in orange text in a block of other text, if the user needed to be reminded of the definition of that word.I have no problem replacing the rollover with a definition text box and a click box that shows that text box. However, I'd like the definition text box to disappear a few seconds after it shows, rather than persist on the page. How do I do that? I tried setting a 3-second duration on text box, but that made no difference. I just downloaded Captivate and have been trying to publish, in the guides it says to use Publish > Publish to Devices for LMS but the only option I have in the menu is Publish to Devices (App).

Dear All, I hope I can find a solution for my problem. I have a multiple choice quiz and I want the user to be able to continue when he selects the right answers (and that works) but if the user selects the wrong answers or no answers, then he/she should get a permanent feedback that they selected the wrong ones and has to choose the right one.  Thanks in advance!

I created two courses with no quiz that isn't triggering completion in the LMS.The publishing settings I was told to use are:1. AICC Other Standard LMSs2. Incomplete/Complete3. Slide Views 100% and # of slides (I tried both)4. Interaction data selected5. LMS Initialization Text: Loading6. Then find this file under your published project and change it in a note pad and zip the file again. AICCFunctions.jsFind and replace the following line of text:  JL Note: Simply remove the highlighted portion of the string.strAICCData += "[Core_Lesson]\r\n";remove the \r\n see belowstrAICCData += "[Core_Lesson]"; I also published the course without the change in script. Please help!

Media/Assets is blank .Any idea how to fix it ?

Hello,I was wondering if anyone might be  able to help me with an issue I am having.I created a simulator for a system I use at my work. I uploaded it in our LMS - Saba. When I exit out of the course, and go back in it takes me back to the slide that I left off at.  Ideally I want to simulator to start off at the main page (1st page) every time I use it.Is there a setting on my Captivate file that would allow me to do this, or does this have to do with the Saba?Thanks

I want to insert an interactive video into my captivate project however I need it to still have a play bar. Is there a way to have an interactive video with a play bar?

I have a project that shows break points for Desktop , Custom tablet, Tablet Portrait, Custom Mobile and, Mobile Portrait. I only need to design for the desktop and custom tablet. Can I delete the other break points? If so how do I do that?

we would like to set up a pool of questions for the exam maybe 40 questions but captivate randomly selects 20 questions for the exam. Can this be done? if so how can I set it up?

Hi, everyone.I'm working on a series of Captivate 7 projects teaching the user how to use a bit of software. In the assessment, I set the text entry boxes to have the shortcut key of <Tab> to validate and advance to the next slide. This works great in Flash published files, but does nothing in HTML5 published files. Actually, it tabbs to the invisible submit button and highlights it instead of validating or advancing.I've been really baffled by this for about an hour, and I couldn't find anything online about it. Through troubleshooting, I figured out that it has something to do with the Active/Inactive time of the text entry box. If I happen to type the answer in the box and hit Tab in the second or two before the text entry box goes inactive, it works just fine. But once the text entry box is inactive, it doesn't work.Does anyone know why this is or how to get around it without making the slide like 20 minutes long or something stupid? Thanks in advance!Ben

Using Adobe Captivate 2019, version 11.5.5.553 on Windows 10. An issue is arising in a responsive project where custom "Prior" and "Next" buttons are not remaining on the slide when previewing either as Live Device or Project once the project is saved and reopened. For example, some edits were made to the text captions since they were not remaining on the slide the entire time and when the project was previewed, the "Prior" and "Next" buttons were present but when the file was closed and then opened again later and previewed, these buttons wouldn't appear. The project is a SCORM package and when published and uploaded to the LMS, the buttons are present but if I go back in that same file afterward and preview, the buttons are not present in the preview modes. I am at a loss on how to troubleshoot or what the problem might be. We're using Captivate 2019 to create content for PeopleSoft ELM.  Publishing to HTML5 in AICC format. The issue we are having is that when an end user leaves the WBT prior to taking the Quiz or during the Quiz then relaunches the class the Quiz slides are blank.  The content is obviously still there but it's being hidden.  We've been troubleshooting this for a month.  Changing Quiz preferences, Table of Contents settings, LMS settings, Quiz properties, etc.   Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue or where I should focus my efforts?

Hello, I am using an interactive video in a course. While it may be normal that a video continues to play in the background while I am viewing another tab in Chrome, is it possible to have the interactive video pause automatically if the learner navigates away from the course? I ask because I have some overlays set to appear after a certain time, if the video continues to play in the background while they are in a different tab, the video is never paused at those overlay points, until the learner comes back to the tab, where the overlay now appears at the correct point in the video. By this time though, they may have already listened to the audio from the rest of the video, which gives away what answers to select! I would not hope learners do not navigate away from the course while it is in progress, but it is a possibility because of how this course is displayed on the LMS - it is not in a seperate window.  If anyone has had any experience of this, or some ide

Some Background: I'm creating a "Build your own video" kind of widget.  User gets to select 5 out of 14 choices as well as 1 of 4 songs.  I was able to get everything to work from a logical standpoint.  Since I wanted the music to play through rather than jumping around, I opted for event video as opposed to slide video with bookmarks.  I created a multistate object with 16 states (opening, closing, and 14 options).  The opening is 10 seconds, the closing is 10 second, and the 14 options are each 5 seconds.  These are not huge video files.  I'm also running this on a really powerful computer). The Problem that I'm experiencing is that while some of the first few states work fine, when switched, states ~6-16 show up as a blank screen. Are there known issues with too many states on a muiltistate object in Captivate?  Perhaps is video related? Alternativley, is there a workaround to get the background music to not jump around on a sli

Hello! I frequently publish SCORM packages for the learning management systems Canvas, Blackboard, Populi, and Moodle. Since I don't personally have access to these LMS, what are the proper publish quiz settings for each? So far, for Canvas and Blackboard (it's my understanding that they're the same settings?) I use the 'Other Standard LMSs' option from the LMS dropdown in the Quiz Reporting. I then use the Standard 'SCORM 1.2'. For Populi, I leave it on 'Other Standard LMSs' but change the Standard to 'xAPI'. For Moodle, I select 'Moodle' from the LMS option and use 'SCORM 1.2' from the Standard dropdown. So far I've had no complaints but I wanted to verify these settings and unfortunately could not find much information when I did my own research. Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated!

I am using captivate 2019 and using a few shortcut combination with Alt key on some buttons. For example Alt+S, Alt+V etc. to activate those buttons with the keyboard.The issue is if I press the character key without even pressing the 'Alt key' the button is still getting activated. I want only the combination to work. Any idea or solution is welcome

Anyone else have this technical problem? When I try to select something from assets a secondary window pops up and covers what I am trying to select.
