Captivate

Hi - I am a complete novice when it comes to Captivate as I am awaiting further training but we’re having a problem with one of our products not reporting the pass to our LMS (CrowdWisdom) and I’ve been tasked with trying to do some digging! Having checked through the community forum someone suggested uploading the file to SCORM Cloud to see the completion works on there first and then you can assume that the issue is on the LMS side.Having done that, attached is what I get on SCORM Cloud having tested it myself as a learner. It seems to have been marked as complete - not sure what the “success unknown” means? Is there any reporting that I can look at in SCORM Cloud to see where our LMS may be going wrong? If not, then is there anything obvious I can check in the Captivate File? Thanks in advance Stacey

Hi. I am needing to hide objects in Captivate from screen readers. I had read somewhere that if you unchecked the Auto Label box in the Accessibility panel that the object would not be read. This does not seem to be true. Is there another way?  Thanks for your help!

I am working with a vendor to upload two Captivate courses. The vendor handles all the uploading and connecting of things - I just hand them a zip file, so I know very little about their process. The two modules are apparently jumping directly to the "thanks for watching" slide at the end. I cannot replicate it on my own system here, so I don't know what's happening. The vendor sent the notice below and I have no idea how to fix it. I don't know how they found the error. My opening slide has no "on enter" actions and only has a button to go to the next slide. From the vendor:After some further investigation, our Technical Team has advised me that the issue with these courses is the following value causing the course to be marked as completed immediately: LMSSetValue cmi.core.lesson_status, ‘completed’. If you could please correct this, and re-upload these courses, we would be glad to update the site. Thank you!  Can someone guide me to where I might address that LMSSetVa

Has there been any update on when we can expect a Big Sur patch? And if we were to roll back to Catalina would the new creative cloud updates be affected/break in Catalina?

Hello,I haven't used Captivate in a while. Are the clickboxes keyboard accessible?  I don't see them in the tab order, but didn't know if some new update/procedure makes them accessible to a screen reader and keyboard.Although in preview, it doesn't seem to be keyboard accessible.    Thanks,Sam

Hi, I'm just here to rant briefly about the object styles: So many! Most are fugly! The use of bitmaps to compose the caption styles is quaint but outdated! Black text on Dark Green? Are you mad? Style names that have the redundant usage of the word "STYLE" in the name? It's the style menu! What do they think they're going to see here, trees? Not to mention the extraneous brackets at the left and right, and the usage of the word "DEFAULT" which, by the way, does not make it a default if the "Set as Default" check box is not marked.  I like to read (for laughs) the latest documentation for Captivate, which was last updated in August of 2018. (What a simple time compared to now.) It's called the "Reference" but it's still just a series of how-to's. Does it, for instance, give a list of the built in styles and show what they look like? (You know, for reference?) NO! Does it provide a rundown of the object styles and how they are related to one another? (For, I don't know, helping out

We are moving our Captivate projeccts to Docebo LMS. All of our Captivate projects include an exit button at the top of each slide and on the last slide.  When users click the exit button when viewing the project in Docebo using Chrome, the user is taken entirely out of Docebo and not returned to the course to complete the remaiming lessons.  This does not happen in Firefox or Edge/IE - users are taken back to the course.Chrome version: Version 87.0.4280.66 (Official Build) (64-bit)Adobe Captivate Version: 2019 11.5.1.499 Has anyone else experienced this issue or is aware of a solution? Thank you.

Hello, I was watching a video on Captivate interactions, and noticed that I am missing the Assets tab on the top right, as well as the option to make an image a button on the properties pane.  I have a cloud subscription to Captivate and presumed that I would automatically receive all updates.  I used the help function in Captivate to find upgrades, and indeed it found one.  The problem is that it is asking me to close Captivate in order to update.  I am not sure if update 5 will fix the problem and how to install the update if I have to close Captivate in order to do so.  TIA

I am trying to work out how to use TTS with captivate.I have a text box that can have a number of different messages in it, only one message at a time. Then on click of a button I require the text message to be read out to the user. As this message is not controlled as to its content, I can not use an audio playback it has to be TTS. Can I do this with Capivate or do I need to use some other application to achieve the desired results?

Just started using Captivate to help my students working digitally. I have the software and created my first project but I have no way to publish it so my students can view. I was told to launch from Google cloud but I only have access to google drive. Are there any free options I can use to publish projects to students? 

Hi, I'm a total captivate newbie. I've seen this question answered for other versions of captivate but those option placements aren't available for captivate 2019 (or I can't find them). How do I stop my project from auto-advancing? Do I need to create an advanced action, or is there a work around?

Hi,I cannot seem to find anywhere to make the Hot-spots invisible or reduce their opacity in order to have them as buttons in a VR slide but invisible so that users need to click around to hunt for the hot-spots.Is this possible?

Hi, I have a questionin all adobe products ,Why some icons have sharp corners. What is the difference between them and software with rounded corners?I just want to know why not all the icons are the same and what is the difference between a square with sharp and rounded corners?Have they not been updated yet?

I am trying to utilize the Learning Interactions Image Zoom. In my preview it works great. Yet once it is publsihed no image appears when you select the zoom indicator. I have tried various browsers.Any advice 

Hi everyone! I am working on a game in which if I drag the picture to the right place, the picture will disappear. If it's dragged to the wrong place, it will just go back. Does Captivate support this? Thanks in advance! 

I am running Adobe Captivate 11.5.5.676 on a Mac.   I am having issues where the audio cuts out.  I have tried adding 0.5 to 1 second after the audio clip but that hasn't helped.  The Fade in/Fade Out is set to 0.  I tried it on different browsers but same issue with Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari.   The odd thing is the audio only cuts out at the end sometimes but not always.  There is no issue if I view it as a preview.  I even have 1.5 seconds on the slide after the audio ends but same issue. Please help!

I installed Captivate 2019 for Windows, and although most functions work, I cannot A) use asset characters (the install stops at 50%) or B) upload Youtube videos. Part of me wants to go buy more RAM (bump it to 16) and see what happens. But I want to fix this and see it wor before I spend the money to buy a subscription. Ideas?

We have been testing our 60 slide module for a couple of weeks now and I am getting inconsistent errors which result in no images appearing after the loading icon appears. From this point forward in the module text appears, but no images. Two or three iterations ago this was not happening.  Here are a few things that may be factors Copying and pasting text from a previous course which  has not yet been saved in Captivate 2019the template was created in a previous version and then updated.Computer hard drive was migrated from a different computer system Please any assistance would be appreciated. Hi GuysThe built-in Glossary widget is pretty simplistic and does not allow images, video or audio to be included in the definition.  Does anyone know if there is a way to produce a great glossary? I am trying to create a glossary for fibres and fabrics and it needs to be visual.ThanksBeverley

When I build a web page, the DIV will hold the content and grow vertically, or height, when resized on a different screen, like going from tablet to phone.In Captivate, I can't get the fluid box to force the height of a page so that the user doesn't see the black text overlay Icon, I've highlighted it in the picture below.How do I force that fuid box to display all the text in that column? I've tried many ways and it seems like Captivate forces page height to the original 627 px or a max height.  Any suggestions?

Hi,For accessibility purposes, I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to add visual focus to buttons and other elements in Captivate. What I mean by this is adding some sort of visual indicator around a button when you tab between them, so people who are using a keyboard know which button currently has focus. I can't figure out a way to do this, does anyone have an ideas?Thanks

I am adding a table of contents to my eLearning modules but when I reach the end slide, select exit and reopen the module, the table of contents has being wiped clean. Why is this happening? 

No issues come up on the HTML5 tracker. My first slide is supposed to play smart object audio before a button. The audio plays in Explorer, but not in Chrome or Edge. In Edge, the audio is also silent in two other places covering 2-4 slides in 2 different sections.  2 slides don't have buttons, buttons, interactions, or smart shape audio.
