Captivate

Hello!! I have  strange question. I have a widget that is attached to a fluid box but when I preview it, it goes out of the slide view...Here is in progress:And here it is in preview:It completely covers up the left bar and next button.Has this happened to anyone before? Thank you!!!!!

I did a search of the forums and this question was never really answered in 2018, so here it is again. Is the ability to restart a completed SCORM course a function, or setting in the LMS or is it authored into the SCORM? We use TalentLMS and want our users to have the ability to go back and retake courses whenever they want. Bookmarking was mentioned in a discussion as was looping. But apparently looping does just that-it won't ever let the user out of the module. Any help appreciated.

Where can I download Captivate software is this available from Creative Clouds?

I just got an invite to access my departments Adobe Capitvate but it doesn't seem to want to acticate the license. Invite email says to sign in to the email and download captivate but it's not licensing and I've been using the free trial but it's about to expire.

I accidently selected that I do not want the text box to maintain the style when I copy and paste text into a text box. Now every time I paste text into a text box i have to change the style to be the original style within the text box. Time comsuming ad annoying. How do I fix it so I can have the text box maintain the original style no matter what the style is in the copied text?

Has anyone else noticed that not all of their published projects show up in the Web Projects section of Adobe Fonts? For me, it's kind of hit-or-miss whether they show or not. It's causing font issues for my projects, as I have to go in and edit them for specific language subsets. Basically, I click on the fons icon in my CC app, choose "discover more" and a webpage opens to the fonts typekit. I click on "My Adobe Fonts" then "Web Projects." From there I can select the files I need to edit and add the language subsets. Now, most of the time the captivate files I've published show up there as published projects. But since yesterday at noon, none of the files I've published are showing in my web projects. I have logged out of CC, both online and the app, restarted, signed back in, and re-published, and they're still not there. This is infuriating! Has anyone experience this, and if you have, were you able to resolve it?

I have created a help page that can be accessed from any slide (action: jump to slide). When you are on the help page you can close it by clicking the close button and then you go back to the slide you came from (action: go to last visited slide). This works fine, but when I close the module when I am on the help page and open it again in the LMS, this action no longer works and I am stuck on the help page. Is there a way to remember/save 'the last visited slide' (the one before the help page) when I close the module on the help page or a way I can make sure that if 'go to last visited slide' doesn't work you go back to the main menu or something?

I noticed several comments in threads related to previous versions of Captivate that it wasn't possible for Captivate to allow a user to remember where they left off in a project and return to that point when they come back to it at a later time. Has this feature been updated at all to be available in the most recent version of Captivate?Would like to find out a way to do this if possible.Thanks very much,Whitney

Hey everyone,  I posted a question back in September that was answered by Lieve Weymeis but I am unable to reply back to that post for some reason.  To get to the point Lieve mentioned that Captivate has the ability to do Popups on a layer (timeline panel) similar to the way Storyline handles it.  If you are seeing this Lieve could you perhaps explain further?  Does anyone else have any knowledge of how to do this?  Storyline is so easy to add a layer and hide info below it from screen readers.  It was also mentioned that "Slide audio can be paused on content slides when you have a pausing point."    Pausing Point? How is this done?  Thanks for any help that you can provide with these two issues. 

I'm using a Responsive project in Captivate 11.5, 2019 latest update. I have a screen that lets the user choose from 1 of 5 business person images (avatars) to navigate thru the course.  The next screen shows the avatar that the user picked.  I created 5 different states using five different images of business people (avatars). When I change the pictures in the State view, they keep getting distored.  They get narrower or wider and they don't look correct.  If they are unlocked from the fluid box, they work fine.  Once I put them in the fluid box some of them distort. Thank you for your help!Larry

Do certain backgrounds/lighting work better for the Green Screen in Presenter?  I'm about to try the software for the first time. I have a white backdrop screen with softbox lighting on the backdrop and other light on myself.  Is this likely to lead to good results, or does backdrop and traditional screen lighting have different impact in this environment?  Are any backdrop colors better or worse for high level end product?

Hi all,I have been trying to figure this out for a couple of days and am about to give up, so you are my last hope.I have built a quiz, with 4 slides, each loading a random question slide from a bank of 4 question pools (each with 4 slides, making 16 slides that can be randomly loaded)On the quiz slides I cannot set states for the answers to change the font colour dynamically.I have been asked to add accessibility to the quiz for people with different needs, I can simply change everything to high contrast black and white, with a large simple font. But they want to give the students the opportunity to change the font colour to their preference.Any suggestions?Kind regards,Mark

I am using Captivate 2019, publishing to Absorb LMS with Scorm 1.2. I have created a course that has 5 lessons. Inside each lesson are custom question slides (I designed them) and content/topic slides. The goal is for the learner to answer every question correctly (there are 75 questions). When they answer a question correctly, they get the "Next" button. They cannot move forward without a correct answer. On every question slide, they can click "Topic Review" button, which will help them learn about the topic to correctly answer the question. My dilemma is completion -- if I set the Quiz Preferences to, let's say, 40% of Slide Views, the learner can skip an entire lesson and be marked as complete in the LMS. How can I force them to complete all questions in each lesson and be able to SKIP all the topic slides if they don't need the review?

I can't edit the mousepoints. If i open the DropdownMenu "Edit" all points are light grey and i can't select. Can you please tell me why? What can I do?

Ever since Microsoft pushed Edge out as a primary browser, I need to figure out a workaround for the Glossary widget for an acronym screen .  Scenario:A number of buttons is on the screen. Each button consists of 2 states:An acronym (default) state.Clicking the acronym will reveal the meaning of the acronym.  This state of the button will need to persist if the user leaves the screen and then returns.(I don't need any help counting how many acronyms have been clicked to enable a "Next Screen" button) I'm getting hung  up on what type of buttons, what actions (if any) to use, etc.  I could have 30 or 40 of these on a screen.  I figured using one button and different states would be easier than click boxes, etc.Many thanks in advance!

Hello. I am using adobe captivate 9 and I want to enable the option for a certificate of completion at the end of the course.  I have tried to create a new slide at the end, then click on Interactions, and then learning interactions.  However I don't know how the user can insert the name so it will appear on the certificate. 

Hello,I have a single button on a slide.  Every time the user clicks it, an additional text caption should show.  My original idea was to hide all of the captions, create a variable to keep track of how many times the user has clicked the button, and when the button was clicked, check to see how many times it has already been clicked, and show the appropriate next caption.  This approach would require multiple if statements because depending on how many times the button was clicked, a different caption would be shown.Based on my preliminary research, this was not possible in 2012.Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi there,I have an elearning file that contains different "streams" depending on what the person's role is at my organization. If they are Stream 1, they do quiz 1, stream 2 does quiz 2, and stream 3 does stream 3.Because I had some issues with the quiz, I switched the passing grade to slides viewed, as opposed to some score % on the quiz.However, I learned that even though I published the file with the pass as slides viewed, my learners are still receiving a score based on the quiz. The issue is even though the learners take only 1 out of 3 quizzes in the file, they still see a % score based on the total number of quiz slides.For instance, quiz 1 takes up 40% of the total # of quiz slides. So, if someone answers all the questions correctly, they see on the LMS a pass (for viewing slides) and a score of 40% (because they answered 40% of the quiz slides). I don't want them seeing 40% score, I want them to just see that they passed. Can anyone help with this? Thanks

I was testing whether my course was getting properly bookmarked by my LMS yesterday, and ran into the following problem:I have a 5-question quiz, I answered questions 1 and 2, got feedback on question 2, and then closed my browser.  When I restarted the course, the LMS did, in fact, bookmark where I stopped correctly, BUT I was now on an answered question with no way to go forward because I couldn't re-answer and re-submit. While I don't anticipate a lot of students quitting the course 3 slides before the end, browsers and computers do crash, so some of them could find themselves in the same situation.  So, what is the best way to allow the students to move forward when this happens? I thought about adding the built-in "skip" button, but then I worry about what would happen if students click on it BEFORE they answer a question - then I'd also need to allow students to move backwards, which we really don't need otherwise and were hoping to avoid.Our specs: 5 questions, MC/TF,

Dear community members,it's my first post here and I hope, someone of you can answer my question. Thanks in advance for reading and thinking about a possible solution: I have created a project in Captivate importing a PowerPoint presentation. For switching back and forth through the pages I use a default playbar from the Skin Editor with the required buttons. The possibility to navigate to the next pages by mouse click in the click field is deactivated. So I want the Users to only use the playbar for navigation. The Project has been zipped and uploaded to a LMS. The settings of the project are, that the users have to watch 10 out of 14 pages to successfully complete the course.The problem is now: Using Microsoft Edge, watching at least 10 pages and close the browser window won't turn the course to "complete". I still get an "incomplete" trying different scenarios in MS Edge.The only possible option getting the course completed is watching at least 10 pages and close the windo

We are using a different play icon and poster image for our 16 simulation modules.  It works correctly on 12 of the 16 modules.  On the other 4, is shows the standard Captivate play icon.  We have republished, cleared the cache on the server and browsers and still get the variance.  It shows correctly when playing the published content locally on a computer in a browser. I have attached a screen shot showing the difference in the CSS code for each. I'm hoping someone knows what is happening in the publishing process or web hosting environment to cause the difference.ThanksMike L.

I want to put some navigation into a random question slide, but all the options are grayed out.  Any idea how I can edit these slides?Thanks in advance!

Through searching I see there are a lot of issues, but support is closed on the weekend. So hoping someone has ideas...  I can't seem to install Captivate other than trial version, and there is no license information in my account that i am able to locate to activate said trial. I already downloaded one trial and it's expired. There is no link in my purchase confirmation email, just an order number.  In my account the download link for captivate points to the creative cloud apps which Captivate is not even a part of (See screenshot - the link address is https://www.adobe.com/go/account-download-cc )  Looking through similar community posts, this seems to be an issue several people are having, for some time now.  

I put audio in a button that's supposed to play when pressed (and it does).  But it's also playing from the beginning of the slide, even when all the tracks in the timeline are hidden.Any idea how I have the audio only play when the button is pushed?Thanks in advance!

Odd question alert! I have a Captivate quiz (version 2019). I load it to the LMS, and a student takes and completes the quiz. I can run a SCORM 2004 report in the LMS which shows each question along with what the user selected and whether or not it was correct. However, the report shows the Quiz Question Description as one of the fields (the first column), and the values in that field do not match up with the actual questions in Captivate. For example, this report shows the results for this particular question with ID 361077:This LMS report tells me the question for 361077 is "The imaging tab in Chart Review will show canceled imaging exams." However in Captivate, when I look at the question slide for item 361077, the question is actually "When reconciling PTA medications, choose..." as you can see in this screenshot. So it is basically like Captivate is not sending the correct question text to the LMS. How do I change this in Captivate so that it sends the correct Question T
