Hello All,After adding some background music to my project I realized there are high's and low's on some of the slides. I've tried to adjust the volume, selected the option of Adjust background audio volume on slides but this has not worked.  On a few slides, the music is louder than the narration vs other slides where you can barely hear the music. Any suggestions?I'm using Captivate 9...

Hi there, So I have a few issues. I saved my project on Thursday and retuned to it Monday and when I opened it --all the text was gone! I read that folks had similar issues but when they "clicked" on the text it reappeared. When I clicked on the text on the first slide it just closed the program and says "Adobe Captivate Quit Unexpectedly'  I have tired to copy the slides to a new deck, but same thing happens 😞 Any one had this issue--or know of the fix? Also, question if I uninstall and reinstall captivate, will I lose this current project and my past projects? And I have never used creative cloud. It always displays this error“Failed to start CoreSync Could. Not Create ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync Just not sure it those are related? Thank you! Best, Alicia

Today Microsoft pushed an update that I think modified my Edge browser, as well as making it my default browswer.  Now a Glossary widget takes a long time to load, and when it does it is not visible and therefore not working. I'm not great with the technical ins and outs of what is happening behind the scenes, but whenever I publish a course and subsequently view it I am pretty sure I was looking at it in IE.  After today's update, the courses seem to load in Edge instead and now I have this issue with the widget. Now, if I manually open IE and drag my "index.html" from a published course, it works fine after I click a button in a dialog box that says "Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls."  The button says "Allow blocked content"  This fixes the issue with the Glossary widget.I'm using Captivate 2017 in Windows 10.  Any insights or help suggestions?  Thanks!

HelloI'm testing Presenter 11.1 and I'm doing well in my preview on Powerpoint but when I export to HTML5 everything goes mess... The times and transitions on the quizz stay messed up...Can some one help me with these?

When I open a Captivate project, a .cpl file is generated in the same folder as that project's .cptx file (e.g., If I create or open Captivate project named MyProject, the file ~MyProject.cpl is generated in the same directory). When I close that file, the .cpl file goes away, indicating it is some sort of temporary file. The file type for these files is Control panel item. However, I have found a number of .cpl files even when I don't have Captivate open--perhaps because I deleted a .cptx file or a .cptx somehow got corrupted. So I wind up with a number of apparently orphaned .cpl files in my project folders. While I'd like to know what these files are and why they're created, my main question is if I can delete these "orphan" .cpl files without any negative consequences.Thank you.

I have a VNC session running and need to record a video in Captivate. Earlier, in Captivate 8, I could record the slides from the VNC session and the appropriate text captions were generated automatically. Our organization recently upgraded to Captivate 2019 and something seems to have changed, and for every mouse click, it goes on to generate a text caption which is the VNC session ID. You can imagine how annoying it is to find all the text captions in the project showing just the VNC session ID. I tried a brand new project but ran into the same problem. I tried to record a local application, such as Outlook, Firefox, and the text captions were there! It looks like Captivate can't "talk" to remote systems on VNC anymore. I tried  troubleshooting this with my IT help desk, but they don't have experts in Captivate, and are looking for a solution. I would appreciate any help on this! 

I have developed a SCORM 1.2 compliant Captivate 6 show which is also consistent with my client's LMS requirements as set out in a developer's guide provided to me. When the show is tested with the ADL SCORM Test Suite it shows no errors. It also loads and reports as planned when using SCORM cloud. However, when I try to load it on my client's Oracle-based LMS I receive this error upon loading "Error - unable to acquire LMS API" (and reporting does not work).Is this likely to be a problem with my client's LMS or my publishing settings?

I have a VR project that has audio instructions on all slides. When I preview or publish, the audio plays for the next slide before the user clicks to continue. The effect is the audio for all slides play as if it is one long audio file until the user clicks the next button.  On click the audio for that slide plays along with the following slide audio till the process is repeated. Hope this makes sense.

HII have gone back to work on an 360 project I started 6 months ago and I am now unable to preview.I click preview from this slide (*or any of the other preview options) and nothing happens. I useally use Chrome but it wan't working so I changed to Edge but it isn't working either.It was working fine before.Captivate 2019 Ver 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10

HII have a couple of quesitons regarding the eleanring community and could not find a support link on that site. Is there someone I can ask my questions of here? I am trying to understand a few things and straighten out a few things that I think are bugs.Please let me know.thanks

So i have a PPT with narrations and animations. Cant find a way to import the ppt in a way  that the naration is playing at all CP 2019 (tried and in CP 2017). How can i avoid re-narating evrything in CP? Ultimetly i want to export it for use in Moodle.

Thank you for reviewing... I'd like to add video playback controls that allow learners to pause, mute, and restart (but not skip ahead) an inserted event video that is autoplaying in a slide. I changed the skin using style properties, but when previewing or publshing, the playback controls switch to a default skin that allows full playback (skipping ahead) controls. (SEE IMAGE) A bit supprt page research (found in this post) suggests those skins only work for SWF content not the commonly used HTML5??? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I'm looking for the best way to add instructor video into my captivate project.  I have the raw green-screen video and the video I edited and chroma-keyed in After Effects.  I can't seem to find the the proper way to add the video (with transparent background) to my slide.  Thanks in advance for sharing ideas and best practices....  - C

Hi!I created a slide with a web object in it and a replay button, but when I hit the replay button the web object disappears and it won't load again (it also happens with the reply button on the control bar). I have to go to another slide and then revisit for the web object to appear again. Is it possible to reload the web object when replaying the slide so it doesn't disappear?

Hi! A really strange thing is happening for the last few days while working on photoshop (CC 2020).I was using Pen tool, Selection tools etc... Suddenly the tool changes to move tool and thereafter I am unable to do anything on that image. Unfortunately, I lose all the work that I have done on that image. I can edit other images. But not the one that I got stuck with. I would have to close the image to aging start working on it. For example if I tried to change to the brush tool I would still see the small arrow and cross and not the circle (brush tool icon).Has anyone faced this issue? Or is anyone aware of a way to fix it?I would really appreciate some help.Thanks.

Hello, I am new to Captivate and have made starting out difficult for myself by creating a custom table of contents with progress indicators that learners can navigate through in a non-linear way. I have designed a custom show/hide pop out TOC with a series of buttons for navigation to each potential module. I have given each module button a custom Completed state, and am also using the built-in Visted state as part of my AA's. I want to have the state of the Module button in the TOC change to Completed (Green) when all of the slides in that module have been viewed. Because I want this course to be non-linear, the state of the Module button needs to change to Completed, irrespective of what order the slides are viewed in. For example, someone could start off in Mod 1, skip to Mod 2, then use the back buttons or sub-menu to return to Mod 1slides. I have managed to set this up, but only by creating a variable for EVERY slide and executing a Conditional Action On Enter

Hello Everyone!I'm struggling with what seems to be a simple task.I am importing PowerPoint slides (slide size Wide Screen 16:9).I believe this is the correct slide size for a Captivate project set to 1280x720. Upon import I get a dialog box saying"the height and width of the Micorsoft PowerPoint presentation and the chosed Adobe Captivate project are not the same. This might affet the resolution of the imported slides in Adobe Captivate. But the quality is largely regained on publishing. Continue?" When I do continue, the slides are imported, but they seem to be "larger" in scale.I.E. Text boxes on the PowerPoint slides fit perfectly on the slides but on the Captivate slides, they extend beyond the bottom of the slide. Can someone offer a solution to this?Am I using the wrong settings in either application? Thank you all!Serko  

How can I adjust the starting point for the mouse movement, on a slide that is NOT the first slide in the project? I understand that generally, we shall not be doing this, and the mouse will be positioned where it last ended on a previous slide... except it's completely not working if there is a video slide in-between. As then the mouse always starts in the top-left corner, which is super awkward.I shall be able to position it better in a more natural position.  How can this be fixed?

Hi there,I have a bunch of slides on my filmstrip. One of them has a duplicate (I don't know how or what I may have pressed in my ignorance). Whenever I play the HTML slides, it always repeats the same slide 2 times, splitting some content in the first and second !!I can't se any evidence of another duplicate slide neither on the filmstrip nor on the Timeline !!Not sure where to look.Mario

Hello! I have a slide with four buttons. When I click on a button, I would like the corresponding image to be visible, but the other three images to not be visible. For example, I click on button one, and image one appears and the rest are hidden. When I click on button 2, I would like image one to disappear and only image two to appear. How do I go about making this happen?Thank you!

Really hoping someone can help!I am using Captivate 2019. I have a quiz within one of my programs that is made up of 15 questions with a point value of 1 and penalty value of 0, and one drag and drop interaction with a point value of 1. Giving my quiz a total point value of 16.However in the pass/fail section of the edit preferences it is showing my course has a total point value of 166. I have checked to see if any of the click boxes and buttons were included in the quiz and none of them are. According to the Advanced interactions window there is a total of 16 points.  I'm hoping someone will have a suggestion on how to find my missing 150 points.
