Captivate

Both my consultant and I have Captivate 2016.  When we save a project to a flash drive, give it to the other, they cannot open the file - it gives the standard  "can't open file, damaged, not enough space, etc" message.  Why is a good question but I really need to know how we can get a draft project and share it between us?  There is no budget for additional services like Adobe Connect.  And I don't want to post our content to a open forum.  What am I doing wrong?  Thx

Hi all, I searched the forum and saw similarly titled posts, but none that described my issue.I'll start by saying I'm a new user, so please bear with me. I'm playing with custom captions because I want to use corporate colours in my presentations. To quickly test this functionality I made copies of all five "Adobe Blue" themed captions bitmaps and the associated FCM files. I renamed the bmps to "NewName1" through 5 and renamed the FCM files accordingly. I edited the colour of the copied bmps in a photo editing app, and then saved them. I copied all edited BMP and FCM files to the Gallery\Captions folder, then closed and reopened Captivate. The problem? When I create a text caption and set the Caption Type to my new collection the images I saved do not appear. It looks like a default of some sort is applied instead. The images in the Callout preview below the Caption Type do not look like the images I saved either. All other Caption Types that came with the program apply

Hello,Our quizzes include both a repeat of course slides in which the user must complete a step exactly as taught in the course and two multiple choice questions at the end. Per our customer's requirements, learners must obtain a score of 100% to pass. If they do no pass, they have to repeat the entire quiz and the retake quiz button takes them to the first quiz slide. Many thanks to Liev for helping me display a Return to Course button after 3 failed attempts.    Now the customer changed the requirement. When a learners takes an incorrect action or answers a question incorrectly, they want the learner to returnn to the spot in the course that has the correct answer and then let them return to the quiz action/question that they got wrong to provide the correct action/answer.Does anyone know if this is even possible in Captivate? Thank you,Cheryl

I used .csv files to import questions since the feature was first added.Today, I imported questions using a .csv file for the first time since I upgraded to 11.5.0.476. All of the questions I imported were multiple choice questions with 4 options. After importing, all questions had only 3 options. I had to manually insert the fourth option to each question.Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, does anyone know why it is happening. I set up the .csv files in the same way I have in the past for all the successful imports I'm completed in the past.Thank you.

I am setting up the table of contents with a folder for each learning topic. Each time I either add a slide or change the name of a slide I have to click the "Reset TOC" button to update the table of content. However, each time I do so my folders disappear and all entries left align again. This is quiet frustrating and time consuming. I'd prefer to set up my table of content as I go with folders since my project requires multiple sections.Can you either have the table of content update automatically or create a button that allows us to update the content but retain the format? Thanks!

I am creating a Captivate training course to be displayed on mobile devices.  I need a way to warn users if they accidentally close the browser.  Especially on Android, the buttons are right below the playbar.  Please help.

This is a tickbox that is located within the project settings in your project file, and one which I am sure that many people have seen.Most discussion around it seems to refer to it as a way to prevent bookmarking. However, nowhere have I have been able to find a concise and clear list of what actually sits in resume data and as such the impact is has on multi-path (menu driven) navigation. For both the sake of a future reference and present needs I would like to define each of the elements that is included within the resume data, and as such what is then disabled when this tick box is used.The resume data: Last page visited (aka - bookmark)Custom state changes (where the state change is persistent)Captivate smart state changes (where the state change is persistent (eg visited))Custom variables SCORM variables (test scores etc)Blue - I am confident it is resume dataRed - I think it is resume data

Hi, I have a problem with my buttons in Captivate. I have a picture button which I accidentally deleted in my system folder - now everytime I try to select this button in Captivate to relocate the button link, Captivate crashes 😞 I hope you understand what I mean and can help me. Thanks in advance Julia

Hi,Previously I had no issues with uploading SCORM to moodle. I recently changed my settings to have ability to have LMS results onto an internal server. (Using Quiz Results Anaylse) . I have setup the PHP as per this tutorial https://helpx.adobe.com/au/captivate/using/report-quiz-results-internal-server.html Its configure and ready to go however I published the SCORM the same way and now its advising "An imsmanifest.xml file was found but it was not in the root of your zip file, please re-package your SCORM" Help?   

Hi,When I export to XML for translation, the slide notes get some formatting/font related code added in ({\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\cocoartf1671\cocoasubrtf60 {\fonttbl\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 ArialMT;}I assume this has something to do with font formatting in slide notes, as thhis never happened in older versions of Captivate.  I tried removing all formatting from slide notes, but I still get the code inserted before the text that needs translating.   I imagine this will be confusing for the translators. Any ideas on how to remove it so it doesn't appear in XML would be very much appreciated! Thanks,Kristina

Hey Everybody! My company has embedded our content videos from YouTube into our Captivate modules.  We are unable to receive any data from YouTube regarding views though.  Is anyone else having this issue?  We would like to be able to receive viewer data from our embedded YT videos so that we can make some informed decisions moving forward.  Any help would be appreciated!

I have three buttons set up on a main lesson slide that go to respective lesson slides: 1, 2, and 3. I set up that when each button is clicked that a checkmark appears next to the buttons. I have a situation where the customer wants the viewer to be able to click one of the buttons, say lesson 2, go to the lesson 2 overview slide and then hit the previous button to take them back to the main lesson slide. My issue is that I'm trying to keep the checkmark from appearing if they do that since they didn't progress through the entire lesson to complete it.  I have it set up with variables, of course, and when the viewer clicks on a button it changes the value of the variable to 1. So on the lesson 2 overview slide, for instance, I thought a good solution was to decrement the value of the variable by 1. Perhaps I'm not understanding something here because the checkmark remains. Just looking for thoughts on this. I'll be happy to give a more detailed explanation if needed.

I got a group of buttons from the Asset Library. Now that I'm trying to use them the ACTIONS (section, in Properties), but as you can see below, despite Captivate calling it a "Transparent Button" under the Properties panel. BUT... I don't under why I'm not seeing ACTION for the button.  

Hello. I would like to find our how to stop the slide audio when a button is clicked.  I put the "Stop triggered audio" in my advanced actions. But when I click a button, the slide audio still plays. I am trying to make flash card and it is unrealistic to think that the user will listen to the message telling them to click a flash card before they start clicking. Please advise. Thank You     

Anyone have suggestions for storyboard software that can be used to make quick storyboards just to get approval, and can also be used in conjunction with Captivate?

I would like to know if it's possible to edit quiz slide elements on the master slides to make the look and layout more customized? This is for fluid boxes.

Hi.In a Cp project, I have 5 videos that I call from different slides. When I publish, all videos are created in duplicate.This is a problem, Cp makes the project double its size.In other programs, calls to the same video do not imply duplication in the publication.Thank you

Hi all,I am trying to import some quiz questions using a CSV file. I used the macro file to build the questions. As I try to import the CSV file, I get a message saying "Cannot import the following questions as they have the wrong syntax:Line number: 2 - FIB;1;|soittaa minulle.;Joku;;;;;;;;;;; and this is repeated for every line. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Hi, I want my users to download some kind of certificate/results information as a PDF or PNG at the end of the course. For this, I will keep user some user informatino in variables. At the end, I will generate PDF, text or PNG dynamically. Is such a thing possible with captivate?  

Hello, looking to find a solution to a weird glitch with the Adobe Captivate Glossary widget.I'm using the 2019 release of Captivate Version 11, I think. I followed a tutorial on showing/hiding the glossary widget throughout the project (https://youtu.be/wTEF-56V1Z4) and everything functions as it should except for when I click on a Letter in the top bar where the alphabet of terms is located. When I click on a letter the entire project shifts upwards about 26 pixels.Any idea why this is happening and/or how to fix it?I forgot to mention that this only happens with HTML5 output. Thanks Steve
