Captivate

We have a couple of modules that we are experiencing this issue with.  We have standard multiple choice questions in the course.  It was created in an earlier version of Captivate but is currently published as HTML5 in Adobe Captivate 2017.  The functionality is the student chooses their answer, clicks on Submit and then clicks anywhere on the slide to continue to the next question.  On some tablets and even on a PC computer we have had an issue where the student clicks on their answer and the question automatically moves to the next question, skipping/not giving credit for about every other question in the process.  I've included a pic of the exam question below and also a link to two videos showing what the student is experiencing.  This was the same student, on a tablet. Hi. I'm using shape buttons without the "Pressed" state, I've deleted that. But when I click on them, the button moves and distorts like if there was an "On Click" state. Why? Is there a way to fix that? The button states are only Normal and Rollover.

Hi there,There is an Exit button on the last slide in a bunch of modules we have. The action attached to it is "Exit".It would not work on our LMS - the window would not close. I know that just putting JS action attached to this button and "SCORM2004_CallTerminate();" in the JS window would close the module.However, I would like to avoid republishing all the modules.Is there a way I can change the action of the Exit button on the last slide in one of the js files?Therefore avoiding to open all these files and republish them?Thank you so much in advance.B

I'm using Captivate 2019 to make an interactive video product.In order to make it playable on Android Apps (for example, Wechat，a famous IM application in China)，I should modify the HTML video tag like this，which provided by Tencent Browser Service(腾讯浏览服务-H5同层播放器接入规范 ).  <video id="video" class="video" controls="controls" playsinline x5-video-player-type="h5">Can anyone provide a solution?Thank you!

My playbar buttons are dissapearing when I scale the browser window to a large size.  The hand cursor still shows where the button should be.  Clicking it functions as anticipated.  It's just not visible.  The buttons reappear when I scale the browser window down.  The cutoff size seems to be around 1480x830.  Most of my users will not have a large external monitor, but if they do, they'll have an incredibly frustrating experience not knowing how to navigate forwards and backwards.  Any thoughts?   I'm working in Captivate 7 with a project published in HTML5 with scalable content.  The playbar is set as overlay, bottom stretched, hidden in quiz.  I only have the forward and back buttons activated in this project. 

We have a Captivate 2017 project that has an object we'd like to hide if the learner has visited the slide once already and goes back to review the slide again. When the learner first visits the slide, a Click Here object directs them to where to begin clicking to reveal tips. If the learner were to go back to the slide a second, third, fourth, etc. time, we would like to hide the Click Here object.I think this would be handled by a On Enter advanced action where the slide visits would be tracked 1> and then Hide the Click Here object.

If I can safely assume that my users will be operating with a screen resolution of at least 1024x768 and I want the movie to be as large on the screen as possible, what is a safe size? Best practices? What do people here normally do for that "full screen" experience?Thanks!

I have a (Captivate 9) SCORM HTML5 course that I uploaded to my LMS. Upon testing it, the course plays, but there is the following error popup each time:I've been playing with the settings both on my Captivate file and in my course within the LMS for weeks, but it is persistently there.Any advice?Thank you, Inna

Hello! I created a Question Slide with one multiple choice in it.When I play it in preview, I click one of the anwser and hit sumbit. Then I have my feedback message displaying and the submit button stays on it's rollOver state. Next step is to click anywhere on the screen to continue. (just as in this example Adobe Captivate - Different Feedback for Each Answer - YouTube ) Thing is I would like to change the submit button text to "Continue", instead of adding "Click anywere on the screen to continue" in my feedback message. So is there any way to add a state to this submit button that's placed there by default when creation a multiple choice?Since my app will only be used with a touchscreen, the only walk around I found was changing the rollOver label for "Continue" but that's not idealThank you for any help or tips!

I would like to create a interactive circle menu like this:But when I create a Image Button on Captivate, the clickable area is a square, trespassing the other button on the menu:Is there anyway to create a button where the clickable area follows exactly the image / PNG? Like a vector or something..

I want to embed HTML5 videos that are from LMS which requires login?I have tried looking up videos but they recommend an "Upload to FTP process" - I don't need to upload to anywhere because the videos are already in our LMS.How do I do this?Whenever I try to do, it seems I don't have permissions (our LMS requires a login).Cheers,Miguel

I am using an image on three of my slides on my video demo from Assets in the Captivate tool bar. Whenever I publish to a video, the image will be on screens for about two seconds and then disappear. Anyone else experience this?

HiI've created a standard Captivate 9 file (non-responsive). Published out as HTML5, works fine on my laptop but the second i try this on my iphone or ipad the text i'm typing in the text entry box isnt showing. I type and its like its transparent, if i then try to delete the 'transparent' text i can then type text and see it. So initially the field seems to be transparent.Anyone come across this issue ? Its a 'standard' text entry interaction where they have to click on a field after they've typed the right answer. But its strange i cant see the text being input unless i delete and then type it a second time.

I'm trying to embed a video into my Captivate 2017 project.  When the project is publishing the Adobe media encoder opens.  When I close it, the message that the conversion from FLV to MP4 has failed.   When I then open the published project, the video just continually loads until it times out and goes to the next slide.  If I embed a MP4 file, the video still won't load when published. This occurs locally and if it's on the LMS.Help!

Is there a way to speed up the amount time a demo takes in a slide? When I recorded the scrolling it creates a video on this slide however I'd like it to playback much faster when the learner is watching the demo. I've tried right clicking the bar in the timeline but I don't see an option regarding clip speed. Is there a way to edit or snip the beginning part of the playback if I cannot speed it up?Thank you

I´ve created a custom play/pause button as Lilybiri describes in her blog. The problem now is: I have several stops in my project, giving the learner time and opportunity to read and/or click. These stops are always at the end of a slide. At these moments the toggle buttom should change from its pause state to a play state. But the variable cpCmdPause in my script doesn`t notice that the projects pauses (because its an action depending on a click on the toggle button).How can I get the toggle button and/or the action script to notice that the project stops at a specific time?

Hi- I am sending quiz results to an internal server and using the quiz results analyzer to view results. Is it possible to display a student's name in the quiz results report? I thought that was why students are asked for their name and email address after completing a quiz, but after generating the report, I only see quiz results associated with a student number.Thank you,

HiUsing Captivate 2019 and publishing to html5.  e-learning module has links to SharePoint documents - links to the Excel files work just fine but links to pdf files do not work. The pdf links work if they are on an web page but not when they are in a Captivate e-learning module. The links work fine for e-learning modules developed in Articulate but they do not work in modules developed in Captivate. Feeling frustrated. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, we do not want to use web objects.

As of a few days ago a large number of my students are suddenly reporting that my course lessons are not loading/opening The lessons are contained on a CD-ROM, from which they can successfully access the course menu, however, when they click into a lesson the lesson attempts to load on screen in adobe presenter (which opens the lesson in an internet browser) but hangs with a blank gray screen.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,I am using Cap 9 with most current updates. I have a few slides that have action scripts to go to one slide and then go back to the main menu. The audio tells the user to click on the next area when returning to the main menu. The audio is attached to some click boxes. How would I add CC to click boxes or other objects or other ideas?Thank you All..

Hey everyone,I'm trying to find a way to use random numbers to select images on a slide. I've got the JS working for generating the random numbers and a user defined variable that it's assigned to in Captivate. The issue I'm having is I can't find a way to use that number to show an image on the slide. I tried using multiple tabs on an advanced action, but that didn't work well.The way it's set up is the JS will execute on slide enter. When the user presses the button on the slide, it will read the random number, pick the appropriate image, and display it. So far, the slide enter code works. It generates the number and assigns it to the User Defined Variable.When I try creating an advance action with multiple tabs, only the first tab executes. Is there a way to have Captivate run through multiple If/Else scenarios that I'm not seeing? I'm on Captivate 2017 V 10.0.0.192 on a corporate system so I can't upgrade to the latest at the moment. This is the latest approved for our org for now.

Hi everyone,I decided to embed a video in a project, but I've been struggling with it because once it's published, no matter where I place it in the project, it appears in the same exact position when it's published (and seen on LMS), I can expand or reduce the size of the window and it never changes position or size. Any ideas how to keep it in the original position of the project after publishing?? I tried locking position of the web object and it doesn't work.
