Captivate

My quiz questions are transitioning slowly after the correct attempt.  How do I increase the transition speed to more automatic, if possible?For example, after the correct answer, the quiz will not advance to the next question for about 2 or 3 seconds sometimes more...  This has been tested on multiple networks and machines, but it happens consistently so I am pretty positive that it is not a network issue.

Hi Guys,I am creating an elearning module using Captivate and as part of that i have created a 'Who wants to be a millionaire' style set of lifelines.I have 3 variables audience1,  audience2 and audience3I'm looking for some Javascript that will generate 3 numbers that add up to 100 and and them to 3 separate variables. e.g - audience1 = 20, audience2 = 50, audience3 = 30.Has anyone created this style of game before? or can anyone point me in the right direction?Thanks

Hello.  I have an issue with a shape appearing on a slide but it's not on the timeline. How do I delete it when I can't find it on the timeline?I thought that I may have somehow added it to the master by mistake but when I checked the master view it's not appearing there either.  Also when I insert a new blank slide (my entire project is made up of blank slides) the shape automatically appears on that slide.The weird thing is that I have this shape on all of my slides (its a rectangle that I'm using as a border around a videos I've inserted) and on the first few slides it appears just fine. But starting several slides in its suddenly appearing even if it's not on the timeline.I've rebooted Captivate. I've rebooted my computer and it's still appearing on the slides.  Any idea what's going on?Thanks, Marion

Hi, another question.We use CP in a scalable, non-responsive project.In one module, random entries of the TOC disappear (actually the seem to have the same colour as the background) when hovering over them.Which one it is changes after opening and closing them.Any idea?Thanks!

I have captivate projects with captions, but the captions are just part of the skin and irrelevant when I am exporting an mp4. I can export captions as a Word file, but what I get can't be turned into a valid caption file by saving as txt  and then changing the extension. The Audio item id is there and the closed caption id but there is no time code. The captions aren't formatted for srt or .sbv, there is no timecode. I could create one manually, using the timeline as a guide, but that's not why I am using the software!Captivate 7, Mac OS 10.11.6Solutions?

Hello,I've looked through several posts and have not been able to resolve. I'll explain the issue and the failed attempts to resolve.Captivate Version: 9.0.1.320 (I have no control over this and cannot update or edit script)What I'm trying to do:A software simulation using static screen shots. So I have to have to create click boxes on areas of the screen where the user needs to click to simulate the software. I have only 1 click box per slide. If the user hovers their mouse over the click box, they receive a Hint (that's working). If the user clicks on the box, they receive a Success message of "Correct" (that's working). If the user clicks outside the box, I want them to receive the failure message: "Incorrect. Please try again."  (not working)Issue:Failure message not showing and project automatically advances to next slide if the user clicks outside the click box.Settings I've tried:1.Tried using the default settings of the "Infinite Attempts"; with Last Attempt set to Continu

Hi!I have a game with three tries where the best try is the one that counts. Everything is programmed this way and it is going fine, however, I need to give the possibility of improvement of grade. That is, the trainee may want to make the 3 attempts even if he has managed to reach the minimum in the first attempt. How do I do this? What´s happening is that once the trainee reach the minimum grade, the retry button disappears ...I’m using Captivate 9.Thanks!

So I can do this for individual video objects in a course, but I'm looking for a way to do it for all video objects at once.I'm using Captivate version 10.0.1.285The video object has limited style and option editing in the properties panel. When I publish the course I get a slide with a big white box on it and a play button. Note that the play button is the same one that you get at the beginning of the course, as discussed here >  Remove The Play button & White Screen that shows on mobile Adobe Captivate 2017 I've already customized the play button and the white screen that show on launch, but I need to do the same for the video objects on slides within the course. Below is my method for doing so one video at a time (I mean, you can do it for all videos in the course by repeating the process, but I'm looking for something more efficient). I would love to find the element within Captivate's installed files that let me modify this there, so that it's there for every project,

The course I created and has been uploaded to a LMS has the following message at the end of it which is pulling from the goodbye.html file located in the zip folder. Any ideas on how to get this message to not show up?

Long story short we were given a bundle of courses in both PPT and SCORM format. The company advised us we have full license to rebrand and use them as we see fit and we do want to add our brand to them. I'm having nightmares getting the PPT to import and publish correctly (surprised?) so I was looking at the SCORM files. They apparently used iSpring to make them (probably from the PPT files) so is there any way I can take those files and import them into Captivate?These courses are not overly heavy on content. Mostly text and pictures with a couple of click boxes on a few slides.

In responsive design, the audio file fails to automatically play.  This glitch appears to be unique to my Mac. By toggling the mute button while in preview the audio then plays.  Once the mute button is toggled, the audio plays automatically in runtime as does all other audio files in the project. Projects that are already published and running on the LMS are exhibiting the same behavi or. I had Adobe support run the project in preview and they had no audio problem in simulation.  I just installed Captivate 17 and am getting the same behavoir as with 9. I would guess there must be some setting on either the software or Mac that is causing the behavoir. Adobe support had no problem running the audio with Mac or PC.I noticed the behavoir began about

This is probably either not possible, or way too complicated for my skills, but I figured I would ask. I am creating a course for our distribution center (about our equipment), and I am needing to show a 360 degree picture of a truck. What would be the best way to simulate this? I assume there is not a way for them to click and actually "rotate" the image, so would the best option be to layer the pictures and create arrows that they can click to "rotate" and show different pictures with other sides? I hope this makes sense!

I am in a predicament. I am using Captivate 9 and want narration and background music across 21 slides, but they are two separate files. Not thinking, I put my narration in and lined up all my transitions and animations to my narration, only to discover that I can't have two audio files. I found the trick to adding audio to an object on a slide and having it run across multiple slides. This works .... kind of. My concerns are:1. I have it on my first slide and it runs until slide 16. That's OK, I just copied and pasted and started it again on slide 17. However, I can't get it to fade out. I put a fade out on the object and it just abruptly stops on the last slide. Why is this so complicated?2. If the adding audio to an object solution doesn't work, what is my workaround?I have spent a ton of hours trying to figure out how to add background music. I am obviously frustrated and need a solution that will work. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello!I have created a non-responsive course that runs well on the iPad app except for one slide. I have three 30 second or less videos on that slide. Only one loads and it is slow on my iPad (although it ran better on someone else's iPad).Does anyone have suggestions about how to fix this?Kris

I‘ve just started to create a quiz using question slides in captivate 2017 but would like to change the layout of the slide e.g. Have question x of x at the top right rather than at the bottom and remove the question title altogether? Can this be done or are these slides locked down? If they are locked down how can you create your own question slide which reports to the LMS? many thanks in advanceL

is it possible to make a parallax scrolling in a captivate project? i dont mean the "look a like effect' but the real effect when you scroll the mouse.

I am using a custom questions slide with text input boxes. If the user types the incorrect answer into the text box then a series of actions need to happen:1. State of an object changes2. Hint button appearsIf the input is correct then the following needs to happen:1. Next question on slide is shown2. State of object is changedI am using the variable "Text_Entry_Box_1" to capture what is input into the TEB and using the statement if "Text_Entry_Box_1" contains "the answer" then {do all the necessary actions} else {do the actions for incorrect response}.My question is after the first entry, the on success actions do not seem to happen again. The variable seems to capture the updated text input but the actions are not occurring. I have infinite attempts selected and I've tried with both "Validate User input" selected and without. Do I need to "reset" the TIB? Is there just an inbuilt "correct" variable to the TIBs that I could use? As a side note, when using TEBs, is there a way to unloc

I have a textbox at the top of the page that has a lock icon in the lower right corner. I click on the box and no menus or options are available. No changes in right-side window, either. I need to edit the box. How can I access it again? Thanks for any assistance.

I just changed my laptop and while I could Install Captivate on the new laptop I can't see any of the content that I had created - any ideas of how I can restore this?Thanks

My courses have a button that links to an external website URL.  Client wants to be able to edit the URL separate from Captivate, as a text file.  Is this possible?Many thanks in advance!

Hello,I'm deploying a quiz to many users with Adobe Connect LMS. I have a 34 question quiz and 10 of the questions are random pulling from the question pools.The issue is that for some users, the quiz opens (begins) at question 10, not question 1. (I'm thinking it may be related to the number of random questions). In researching the advanced interactions for the quiz, there is no interaction ID for the random questions. At least I don't see them in the advanced interaction window.This is weird because it doesn't happen for every user - only random users can see the random questions???Any idea as to why some questions wouldn't appear in the published file for some users?Thank you!

I have added a button to execute java code: windows.print();.  This works beautifully when previewing the lesson in IE, but when I publish this lesson it stretches the image to fit the full page (see images below).  I have to make each page of this lesson printable.  Is there something different I can do with the Java code to print the standard ratio of the lesson?

I'm using the latest Captivate 2017 with the latest update, using breakpoint responsive mode. This thing happens only after it's been published. Preview mode looks fine. It shows up locally, and on the LMS.My files were working great for about a month. I had multiple users test it on multiple devices/screens/browsers/etc. Then all of a sudden, my smart shapes (used as buttons) once they've been clicked, and you revisit the page, they are not in the same position anymore.This is happening on ALL of my files. It's happening to two different people who created completely separate files too. One of the published files I didn't even open or touch. Hi all,I have an upcoming project where the one lesson has a million branches. They want status to be saved on each of the branches. They can jump around all over so there is no linear flow through it at all. They will be hosting as SCORM 1.2 in CornerStone.So the regular bookmarking won't be good enough because they want the user to be able to see how much of each section they have completed. Now I can do that DURING a session by keeping variables and using states to show little progress bars. But when the user exits the lesson, those variables of course, are all gone. I now Rod Ward had a cpExtra utility that could save variables, but the user has to log in from the SAME computer. What I need is a way to save a whole bunch of variables as to the progress in each section and be able to retrieve them from the LMS to load up when the user launches the lesson a 2nd, 3rd, etc time.Am I making sense here?Is there ANY way to do this???Big client and great job opportunity, but I don't want t
