ColdFusion

Hi I have purchased a Coldfusion 2018 standard licence. I would like to use it on a Coldfusion 2016 server. When installing the CF 2016 server the 2018 serial number is not accepted. Is there a procedure to use a 2018 serial number on a 2016 instance? Cheers Daryl

Does anyone know a way to globally disable the use of a (#) sign by the end user?  I have created code to replace the (#) sign on formfields that users would likely use a (#) sign, but that would be a very timeconsuming task for every text box on the site.  Would love any ideas or suggestions from anyone who may have a solution.

I am getting this error, while converting few random documents to pdf.  error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/common/cache/CacheLoader at coldfusion.runtime.StructBean.(StructBean.java:79) This issue is occuring with random documents and for 50% of the documents code works fine.I am not sure why this error is thrown. Can someone please help me figure this out. Thanks

I am having to manually change my file extensions when saving in photoshop.  For example if I am trying to save a psd file as a jpeg I click save as then jpeg but the top (where you see the file name and extension) does not change and I have to manually type jpeg in there.  This is extremely furstrating becuase I am constnatnly changing file extensions.  Please someone have a fix for this.

Currently I'm able to access CF2016 admin console on the server where its insatlled as per default url.How can I access Coldfusion2016 admin console from any of the server. In whihc file I have to make the chnages. Please prooovide your inputs.

I must not be using the right search terms because this has to have been asked before.   I missed a hotfix release because i was not paying attention in april.  do i need to apply the april hotfix AND the june/sept one or does the september one supercede June and april? I am not sure why this might change between versions and that's why i didn't specify a coldfusion server, but if it does, I'm still in CF 11.  I know it's out of support.  We are still trying to get approval to upgrade the server to either 2016 or 2018, but at the moment, i just need to get patches up to date with hf 19 and i'm wondering if i need to install 18 first, or if 19 will supercede 18. Thanks

We are running CF2018 Update 3 with external web server (Apache) and we are getting ready to update the server to Update 5. I understand that I’ll have to upgrade to Update 4 before we go to 5. I was reading through documentation (https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-2018-update-5.html#Connectorconfiguration) and it says that we have to “Recreate Connector”.After upgrading to Update 5 I ran the connector and got message that it was already configured:[root@server1]# ./wsconfig -ws Apache -bin /usr/sbin/httpd -script /usr/sbin/apachectl -dir /etc/httpd/conf/ -vcommand line: -ws Apache -bin /usr/sbin/httpd -script /usr/sbin/apachectl -dir /etc/httpd/conf/ -v  This web server is already configured for ColdFusion. Do we have to run wsconfig just to make sure mod_jk.so gets updated? thanks

The locations are also updated.   Users who had installed Update 5 of ColdFusion (2018 release) and Update 12 of ColdFusion (2016 release) encountered an error after they'd tried accessing the ColdFusion Administrator using their connector port. The issue was reported by a few users that it might impact all their websites. This issue appears if and only if you access the ColdFusion Administrator using the web server port. We strongly recommend that you access ColdFusion Administrator only using the internal web server port (port 8500) without exposing the port externally.   However, if you still want to use the connector port, use these patches provided for your version of ColdFusion: ColdFusion (2018 release) ColdFusion (2016 release)   Unzip the files to any location in your computer. I an using Cold Fusion 2016 Enterprise Edition on a Microsoft Windows 2016 server and IIS.   We do alot of file transfers to printers that are running Solaris Unix via SFTP using the CFFTP secure="yes" option.  On certains system the SFTP portion hangs infinitely, or errros out with a auth timeout.   This only occurs when Cold Fusion is running with a AD domain account, and does not occur if I run Cold Fusion with the local system account.   I've tried using both Key/passphease and username/password to login. Has anyone come across this issue before, and is there a fix?   I am currently running Cold Fusion 2016 using the local system account however the security implementaiton guides I need to follow state that I should be running the service with  domain account. CFFTP Code using: <cfftp action="open" server="#ip#" connection="foo" secure="yes" username="#username

Hello, I want to connect CF2018 with the Outlook installed on my CF server, because i want to save the send email as an .MSG file. But i get following error on init the object. <cfobject type=".NET" name="objOutlook" class="Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook"> Class Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook not found in the specified assembly list.The assembly that contains the class must be provided to the assembly attribute. Any help? thx

I have a report that compares one figure against the total of several figures and compares them. If they are the same, they print in black. If the one figure is more than the total of the several figures, the output prints in red. If the one figure is less than the total of the several figures, the output prints in green. (The CF file is attached as a docx.) The report currently outputs 49 pairs of figures. Eight of those pairs, in all cases of which the figures are the same, print in the wrong colors, three in red and five in green. The other 41 pairs, comprising  several in all three possibilities, print correctly. Any ideas? Thanks.  -Dale

I'm setting up CF 2018 (with Update 5) and am having an issue - it seems that "Enable Null Support" option in CF Admin does nothing.  I have some API results that can return null values - eg; json {"FirstName":"Fred","LastName":null, etc} and when I cfdump the struct it has "undefined" as the value for LastName (after doing a deserializejson()). In ColdFusion 9 (which I'm porting over to 2018), the value for LastName shows as "null". My issue is that in CF2018 when I try and access this variable it throws an error "Variable LastName is undefined". It doesn't seem to make a difference if you check the box for "Enable Null Support" or not in CF Admin. I've tried selecting it, un-selecting it, even restarting CF after each update. Is this a bug? I'm using CF2018 with Update 5 (version 2018.0.05.315699). Any ideas? 

Hello, all, Look.. I get it.. I've been a developer for 19 years, now.  I know that to a computer, 1 = true = yes, they are all the same from a boolean point of view.  But from a string perspective, they are not.  So, when I create a switch/case statement to evaluate a URL parameter, <cfcase value="true,yes" delimiters=","> should be valid.  I should not get an error message that "cfswitch has a duplicate cfcase for value 1.0".  A user might use ?myparam=true or ?myparam=yes.  (This is to trigger an update event, btw.) And what is with the "Email me when someone replies" defaulting to checked???  I went into settings to disable this and it's apparently not working.  I'm sick and tired of getting home from work to see five hundred emails from Adobe telling me that someone replied to a thread I'm participating in. Gads, I miss the days of Jive. V/r, ^ _ ^

I'm seeing this message in my application log after submitting a form with blank "required" fields. This is happening on a new install of CF11 with lockdown guide measures taken.
