Digital Editions

I have had this nook for a year and read numerous library books on it, but yesterday I started getting a 'Loan token update failed' error when I tried to open a downloaded .epub book.I have tried everything I can find on the internet as well as calling barnes and noble who was less than helpful.  I have tried...(muliple times for each of these)Deauthorizing ADEGoing back to ADE 3.0Unregister, deauthorizing my nookTrying a different Adobe IDUsing a different computerI've had every e-ink version of the nook, but I'm about to the point of buying a kindle (or course I'm blaming the nook, because although I love how this nook feels, I have had more problems with library books on this one than any of the ones before).Thanks for any help anyone can offer -

I'm use ADE on my ipad (latest versions of everything).Its essentially unusable tho, and hasn't changed in an incredibly long time. Given Adobe have a monopoly on download content for DRM, outside of Library borrowing apps, you;'d have hoped more effort would be put into it. Bugs- blank pages, either always the same one, or it varies. Sometimes changing the page colour or text size fixes it, sometimes not.- incomplete text, seeing dots or bits of it, but white space otherwise Usability- no means to see return by/expiry dates on ipad- no means to return books on ipad. I have to let them expire.- no means to change font etc. Resizing font is problematic, as the above bugs on blank or weird text come into play as you do it.- no imtegartaion with other products like note taking tools Adobe: please do the decent thing, update the product, or put it out of its misery. You're doing a huge disservice to online reading by this shoddy product you've neglected for so long. &nb

I am not one to complain about anything in life, let alone doing it in a public setting/platform, BUT THIS PRODUCT IS SO BAD THAT I FIND THE NEED TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. I tried updating and/or re-installing it a couple of times (even though I already had the latest version in the first place) and nothing seemed to help. I cannot understand how all other products of Adobe work so well, then you get this crap? I am a full time law student that makes use of apple products. THIS PRODUCT/APP DOES NOT WORK ON MY PHONE OR MY LAPTOP. I have the books downloaded, which is super cool and all, but then making use of the app is the most tedious and stress-filled part of my studies.  When I want to scroll down the page, it takes years to move, and once it does move, it freezes. I need to force quit the app once every 10-30 minutes because of how long just "buffers". When I force quit the app and go in afterwards where I finsished, it doesn't even save the parts that I highlighted

Adobe does not support or improve Digital Editions because it is free but forces us to use it because they own the DRM. This is anti-competative and their monopoly screws the consumer. Why do we allow this? Universities need to unite and force change. 

El problema que tengo es que no puedo abrir Adobe Digital Edition desde el ordenador que siempre lo he hecho, lo desinstalo y lo vuelvo a instalar y no me responde. Al descargarmela en otro ordenador, no me permite abrir los ebook que tienen derechos de autor, aun ya habiendo autorizado previamente el correo desde el cual hago las compras. Espero su respuesta, gracias.

Hallo. Ik heb problemen met mijn kobo-ereader. Ik heb een boek in Adobe Digital Editions gedownload en daar vandaan naar mijn ereader gekopieerd. Nu geeft mijn ereader aan dat deze eerst gereautoriseerd moet worden in Adobe Digital Editions. Hoe doe ik dit. Gaarne advies.Vriendelijke groeten.Peter

I am unable to open the books in the adobe digital edition application and transfer them to my Kobo eReader with windows 10

I just received a new computer, had Adobe Digital Editions installed and it found my books right away. However, it says that I am not authorised to view them. I'm really sure that I used my Adobe ID when I set it up, but it's not accepting that. Any suggestions?

A few months ago I had a different e-book reader for a summer class. It was the Copia reader program and I uninstalled it once the class was over. However, I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions to read an e-book for a different class. When I first downloaded it I was not ever prompted to authorize with an Adobe ID. ADE automatically picked up my Copia account for authorization.The issue is that I cannot open the book for my current class because the authorization is not for the right account. When I try erasing the authorization, it asks for a vendor login ID and I have no idea what I need to put there. I've tried my account for Copia, I've tried the company name and the company of the textbook but I can't figure out what I need to put to erase the authorization.I'm just wondering if anyone happens to know what the vendor login ID is.Here is a picture of the authorization that I currently have.And here is the picture of the whole vendor login ID window.

je ne peux plus importé aucun livre des bibliothèques municipales. Ma liseuse me dit toujours que je ne suis pas authoriser. Mais après une vingtaine de tentative pour enlever mes authorisations et les remettres, après 4 dé-installation et ré-instalation de ADE sur mon ordi...après une semaine de chat avec KOBO... il n'a rien qui fonctionne. Ma liseuse pense encore que je suis pas authoriser... Est ce que quelqu'un peux enfin m'aider SVP

I am trying to deauthorize my account but do not recall the vendor ID or the password as I was not the one who set up my account originally.  There is no "forgot password" option and it is apparently not the same as the adobe password.  Can anyone help? 

Bonjour,J'utilise ADE depuis de nombreuses années. Sans souci jusqu'à ces derniers jours.ADE est installé sur mon PC Windows 10 depuis 2 ans. Et depuis quelques jours, quand je veux l'ouvrir, il reste bloqué sur "chargement de la bibliothèque...." et rien ne se passe.Sur le tchat adobe, on m' a conseillé d'utiliser un cleaner, de désinstaller et réinstaller ADE...Rien ne change.Quand j'insiste pour demander une solution, on me renvoie vers la communauté et les forums ! je trouve cette méthode peu professionnelle.J'ai installé ADE sur un autre PC il y a 2 jours, aucun souci, mais je n'ai pas ce deuxième poste à ma disposition régulièrement.Je vous remerice d'avance de m'aider.Bien cordialement,

Bonjour,Lorsque j'emprunte certains livres de la Bibliothèque, je les télécharge dans Adobe Digital Edition. Là, dans le bibliorom, je peux lire le livre. Par la suite, je les transfert sur ma liseuse kobo. Cependant, lorsque je veux lire le livre sur ma kobo, je clique dessus (la couverture est noire lorsque je ne peux pas le lire) il y a un message qui apparaît:Votre liseuse n'est pas autorisée à ouvrir ce livre. Ce livre est protégée par Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM). Vous devez confirmer l'accès à votre liseuse avec votre Adobe ID en utilisant Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). Merci de consulter kobo.com/help pour plus d'informations. J'ai supprimer mon autorisation, l'ai remise et ai réinitialisée ma kobo. Mais rien, cela ne fonctionne toujours pas. J'ai constaté sur les forum que je ne suis pas la seule à avoir ce problème mais je n'ai vu aucune solution pointé...  Est-ce qu'il y en a une?  C'est vraiment frustrant...

When installing Digital Editions 3.0, installation stopped and I received this error:Error opening file for writing:\My Digital Editions\welcome.epubClick Abort to stop the installation,Retry to try again, orIgnore to skip this file.I completely uninstalled the previous version (2.0) before trying to install.  Trying to reinstall 3.0 gives me the same exact error.  A search of the Forums did not turn up a similar issue; I can't believe this is a unique problem.Windows Vista Enterprise Service Pack 2.3.00 GB RAMTwo 500 GB hard drives; neither one even 3/4 full.Thanks.--Fred

The digital editions will no longer show pages of the books downloaded. Tried all the trouble shooting I could find in the community forum including downloading acrobat reader and nothing works. Tried contacting adobe directly and I was told they could do nothing since they discontinued the digital editions and offer no support for the acrobat reader either. I just want to know how to access the books on the digital editions because I have tried everything I could find and the unwillingness on Adobe's part to provide any support for their products is beyond frustrating. The support people said my only option was to post on this forum and hope someone can help because they can do absolutely nothing to assist with the issue. Any help to access the books either on digitial edition or acrobat reader would be greatly appreciated.

hi all -I'm unable to get ADE to open fixed-layout epub3 files at specific pages - I've used the 'landmarks'  nav in the toc.xhtml file -<nav epub:type="landmarks" hidden="hidden"><ol><li><a epub:type="bodymatter" href="book-page04.xhtml">Book</a></li></ol></nav> and I've also tried with adding the 'guide' in .opf file -<guide><reference type="text" title="Book" href="book-page04.xhtml"/></guide> no problem with getting it to work on reflowable epub -thanks for any help - bedwyr  

Hello everybody, I had authorization for Adobe Digital Edition on my old laptop. I bought a new one where I am trying to authorize it with my ID and it is not working. I keep reicing an error message as attached. Can someone adise me what to do? Thanks. Abeer

My organization purchased ITIL books for reference at my department a couple of years ago.  I've found that ADE makes them nearly useless, and I would like any advice on making it perform better in two ways: First - it is SLOW. Slow to scroll, slow to search, slow to add bookmarks, etc. Second - despite being told that these could be printed, trying to print hangs the print queue every single time. I understand and respect the need for security and proper use of digital resources - but this DRM is basically a way to render my PAID FOR resources worthless. HELP!

I am using ADE on my Micrsoft Surface Pro7. The highlighting function is often inactive after marking a text and therefore not usable. Strange thing is, that some lines later it might be active on marked texts. I haven't found a logic to when it works and when it doesn't. Anyone else has this experience? Or a even a solution? Thank you.

Hi!  I searched but couldn't find anything and tech support is not helping. I bought a new ereader and tried to authorize it with ADE but I have a message saying I have too many device.  The web page says I need to contact tech support but again, they can't help me.  How do I go about that?  Thanks!
