Digital Editions

A couple of days ago, Adobe Digital Editions decided not to launch/open, when previously I used it pretty much daily without fail. Since then, I have uninstalled and reinstalled - but it still will not launch/open. Yesterday and the day before, my laptop froze completely when I attempted to do. Today, my laptop hasn't frozen when I've tried, but it still WILL NOT LAUNCH/OPEN ADE. Have tried via Desktop icon and Start Menu. Still nothing.

I'm a reference librarian trying to help a patron with his new Mac mini running Big Sur. He is no longer able to download Overdrive books with Adobe Digital Editions.     Is Adobe working with Big Sur, or have plans to do so?  Is there something that this patron can do?  I was told in the Adobe chat that an Adobe representative would answer this question.  Please respond to me at [Personal information removed by moderator.] thank you.   Moved from Using the Community (which is about the forums) to the correct forum... I worked with microsoft to make my computer work, and they installed Win11, which improved things considerably.  Everything worked ok until this morning. Suddenly ADE doesot work at all. I had both 5.41 and 3 installed and neither worked. I uninstalled both and reinstalled, but .41 is gone. It is replaced by 5.411, which does not work. I uninstalledit and reinstalled 3.0 and I cannot autorize the computer. The function is not available. ALL my library books will not load. I cannot find and install the previous version. HELP!!!!! I have an old Acrobat 10 but it will not open these.

Hi.I downloaded Digital Editions and can't authorize because of my login. I normally log in to Adobe DC with my Apple account info.  Is it because I need an Adobe ID, even though I have one with my Apple Account?

  When i launch Adobe Digital Editions, I am asked to authorize the product. Then, the error E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS is displayed, indicating that all the authorizations allowed for Adobe Digital Editions on that machine have been used. It is about my android phone account thank you for any advice 

I recentl bought a ebook from kobo and downloaded directly to my tablet and to ade where I authorized it with my account etc. After a week or so my library went blank and everything in it disappeared. Every time I try to upload again the file in ade it displays "import content failed" whether is the acsm file or the epub.I tried everything. Authorization and reauthorization, re-downloaded the ade app to no avail.On my pc and phone my library is fine and I can find the book there. It's just the tablet (and is driving me insane). I have a Huawei tablet for reference. Any recommendations? I don't see anything mentioned in this forum about this error?  

Hello,My previous computer got broken with my ADE still active on it. The computer was authorized, and I can't de-authorize it as it doesn't work anymore.Thus, I can't authorize my new computer and use ADE on it 😞Is there a solution ?Thanks a lot,L

I get an error when I try to open an ascm file.  I am working on a MacBook Pro.  It worked fine yesterday. Error getting License.  License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED.

I recently reinstalled and authorized the latest version of ADE. Now, very few books I have will turn pages in the viewer, including books that I've purchased. I get no errors, and at the bottom the page count increases, but the visible pages don't. Same thing if I select various pages on a book's Table of Contents. Help!!??!!

For the past few days, when I try to open an epub3 file in ADE I now get a generic error message saying "errors were detected" in the file and nothing happens. This is true even for files which were opened with no trouble previously (days, weeks or months ago), both with and without DRM.I've tried :- uninstalling / reinstalling ADE- following a search on this forum, I deleted all the content and subfolders from the Digital Editions folder on my computerNeither of these worked for me.Epub2 files still work with no trouble.I've seen other threads on this forum which appear to concern the same or similar problem on windows10, for example :ADE 4.5 won’t open any EPUB3 on Win10Digital Editions 4.5 won't openunable to open epub3 in ade4.5.6 with windows 7 Help! Adobe Digital Editions Won't Launch. (NB this one is marked "resolved" because they reverted back to v3)so it seems like this is not a new problem.

Hi Recently, it failed to download the ebook after clicking the acsm file from Kobo.The error mesaage is "digital edition fail to connect the delivery server, please confirm you link to the internet."I am very sure I linked to the intenet and I also make a firewall exception of adobe digital edition.The version of my adobe digital edition is 3.0 and the OS is windows xp 32bits. Look forward for any reply.Best regards,CH

Why can't I open an e-book  .acsm in Adobe Digital Editions? My Windows computer is authorised. 

When I load an epub book from the library and highlight a sentence to copy and press Ctrl C, the book closes and I am dropped out of Adobe Digital Edithions completely, Ctrl V returns a blank.

Per un incidente al mio PC ho dovuto reinstalla windows e tutti gli altri programmi fra cui Adobe Digital Edition.Ho dimenticato Adobe ID per cui non sono piu in grado di recuperare i miei e_book dal Google Play libri.Qualcuno mi può suggerire come fare per recuperare l'uso dei miei e_book?Grazie 

I made the mistake of de-authorizing my anonymous activation. However, I only lost access to the book I fulfilled through that device (PC) and the other book I fulfilled through another device is still accessible on the PC. What does this mean in terms of my PC's Adobe Digital Editions? I know that I cannot access that lost book again, but can I re-authorize my Adobe Digital Editions with an existing ID this time like so:Will doing this cause any problems? After my experience of loosing access to my book just because I was trying to make it accessible to other devices (but took the wrong route of de-authorizing my anonymous activation, which resulted in lost access), I'm wondering if I should just make a new Adobe ID. I feel like my ID is messed up now and wondering if it is? Finally, why is the book I fulfilled on another device still accesible on my PC, even after the whole de-authorizing an anonymous activation situation?

I've downloaded the newest version and now, when I download a book, it appears on the screen with gray print - not black - and there is a cloud icon over the cover image. The book is inactive and the program won't close unless I use task manager. I have de- and then re-authorized my account and can't make heads or tails of this. The ebook I downloaded doesn't appear when I reopen the program. Help!

I cannot deauthorize ADE on my desktop.  I'm on Windows 10 but pressing Control Shift D doesn't do it.  I want to change the authorization number to the same one on my laptop.

I am unable to deauthorize my Mac.  Message is "Unable to Erase Authorization. Try after some time." But still not working after some time.  When I  navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/, there is no folder with the title "Digital Editions", and no file named "activation.dat" so I am unable to drag the activation.dat file to the trash. I last used Adobe Digital Editions on a laptop that was stolen. Everything (?) on the laptop had been backed up onto a harddrive which was used to copy everything to an iMac.  Is the new computer a problem for erasing authorization or the missing Digital Editions folder? Adobe Chat/Phone does not support Digital Editions. I am trying to deauthorize on the advice of support staff at enki (accessed through a public library). When I try to download any book, I get the error message, "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY. " Please advise.

I bought book wich was sent to me as ACSM file. I opened book with Digital Editor. Authorized with PC. But then I need to read the book on my another device. I erased authorisation, sign in with Adobe ID and now I can not open the book file any possible ways. How can I fix the problem?

Ich weiß, dass das Problem schon hier dikutiert wurde, aber die Lösungen funktionieren bei mir nicht. Ich habe bei der Installation des Readers keine ID vergeben, da ich mir der Bedeutung nicht bewusst war. Nun kann ich die ebooks aber nicht auf meinen Tolino übertragen und wollte die ID nachträglich vergeben. Auch die Lösung mit Ändern des Kennworts nur mit Zahlen und Buchstaben funktioniert nicht. Weiß jemand noch eine Lösung?

I downlaoded Adobe Digital Editions for my new Kobo e-reader. It recognised an existing email address that I no longer use. Now I an't change this address as I don't know my old password (was from many years ago). There doesn't seem to be any way to add a new login or to deauthorise without knowing my old password. Please help! 

I made an e-book purchase, using Digital Editions. I can see the purchase on my iPhone, but it does not show up on my iPad. Please help!

Hi, ich habe schon seit Jahren ein Problem mit Digital Editions. Eine aus InDesign erzeigte interaktive pdf funktioniert im Acrobat einwandfrei. Wenn man Sie aber im ADE öffnet, funktionieren in einem bestimmten Seitenbereich die Lesezeichen, Verweise im Inhaltsverzeichnis und auch Stichwortverzeichniseinträge nicht. Im Acrobat geht alles problemlos. Im ADE kriegt man es erst zum funktionieren, wenn man im Acrobat in der pdf die nicht funktionierenden Lesezeichen und Verweise alle händisch neu verlinkt, was ziemlich aufwändig und lästig ist. Danach klappt es auch im ADE. Hat jemand auch das Problem?

Good day. I bought book from Kobo books a tried to get it to my Pocket Book e-reader. My computer authorizes without problem, but when I am trying to open .acsm file that I downloaded from Kobo, it gives me error: E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER, but everywhere I write the good Adobe ID. Can someone help me, please?
