Digital Editions

Just bought a new Windows 10 computer.  Downloaded the latest Digial Editions and then a book in EPUB format.  Transfered it to my Nook, but it will not open on the Nook.  The Nook says the book is no longer available and has been returned.  Was able to download the book, transfer to Nook and open successfully using my old computer running Digital Editions 3.  Anyone know if 4.5 will work with the original Nooks and if not, where I can get a 3.0 Digital Editions download?

Hi there, I've read dozens of posts about the ADE library location, and understand it can't be readily changed from C:\windows\users\<username>\documents\my digital editions. Software needing data files stored in a specific location seems very 1980's, but it is what it is. My problem is my library isn't at that location, it's at C:\windows\users\<username>\Onedrive\documents\my digital editions. I don't recall ever moving it under Onedrive, but that's where it is. As I'm about to change companies / computers I want to move it to the normal (or another) location so I can then copy the directory tree under c:\windows\users\<username> to a different drive and then move to a new computer. What are the recommended steps to achieve this without damaging my library?  I've tried copying the ..\my digital editions directory but continually get a non-specific file/folder sharing error despite ADE and explorer etc being closed.  I can copy the indiv

HiI tried to borrow a book today.When I copied it to my  Kobo I got an authorisation failure.  So I tried the download and copy again....Same, but now multiple copies of the book in Editions.Have tried removing the book, deauthorising kobo and PC then re-authorising, returning then re-issueing the book, updated Adobe Digital Editions, checked that time and date are correct.  Also tried issuing the book from another library - same issue.Now have several copies of the book that keep reappearing in dEditions after being removed, and still get the error on the kobo!Have not had this problem previously when borrowing books. Thanks in advance for help 

I've got a little library  (6 books) on this machine with Win10 in ADE so that shows it has been working okay.  But I borrow a book today from archive.org and it downloads an acsm and that's all that happens.  I can't  open it (or get it to complete the download thing).  when I right click there's no option for 'open with ADE'  and when I select 'other app' and go looking I don't find ADE anywhere.What's going on?  How can I fix this?I thought it might fix it if I reinstalled ADE so I did that and it seemed to complete successfully.  But there's no change.  I still can't do anything with that acsm file.  Still can't borrow that book.

I purchased a book in pdf and it required Digital Editions so I installed that and now when I download the link, I get "Unable to Download"Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:E_ACT_NOT_READY I've been messing around with Adobe for two weeks and they haven't fixed it

I bought a book in PDF and installed Digital Editions and have been unable to open the downloaded PDF, I've been trying for two weeks and Adobe locked me out for a while I guess becasue I was messing around too much... when I try to download a book it says "unable to download license"

This is one of the worst piece of software I have ever used. It rarely opens and when it does it does not transfer the books properly. Installing and uninstalling does nothing. The help file or webiste is full of complaints and issues and nothing is done., The programmer who did this crapware must be very proud of the garbage he spews out. Yeah delete this message.. same as I will all my Adobe subscriptions.  

I need to change my email from one that I deleted to a different one. I have managed to change the password though I did not notice the option to change my email. Please do email me with suggestions on how to take care of this and thank you in advance. Aprilapers37@sbcglobal.net

One of my computers is authorized.Another one is not.Unfortunately the related menu option in the help menu are gray.It happens on MACs.What's the problem?

I have bought an e-pub from a publishing firm.I can download on pc but it will not open in Adobe Digitla editions, nor travel to my KoboI can see it but get told repeatedly cannot open in library view would you like to copy to library.Copy to library I click.Nothign happens 

We are not able to view an ebook and the error message is saying, " Activation Server Errorcode: E_ACT_NOT_READYDIgital Editions encountered an error on the activation server." We tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Digital Editions and that did not work. Finally we tried erasing the authorization with my Adobe ID and password, while ensuring internet is connected. We get the message "Unable to Erase authorization, please try after some time." The book is lifetime use so this should not be an issue. Please advise how to get this fixed. 

E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USERalthough there is one user   New purchses when downloaded on the Mac, appeared in Library but not the old ones. In the iPhine and iPad, only the older purchaes appear.    

Dear all, I really need your help as i'm going a bit crazy here.I got a ebook Pdf version coming with a password.I can read it on my computer, even on my phone. 😊😊I'm trying to read it on my kobo reader and since 2 weeks now, it's just awful.1- the reader requested to be granted via Ade.So I did it. But Ade on my computer can't open the file with the following error message or something similar " the current version of Ade can't read pdf document having a password. Please use adobe reader". 2- the reader is still rejecting the book and asking for Ade access granting.I'm lost.Thank for any help or clue or even an explanation.Regards, K. 

Until just recently I've had no problems using my Adobe Digital Edition 4.5 application to capture books downloaded from my library and then to add them to my Nook. I have a MacBook Air running OS Big Sur.  A book will show on my Nook but when I click to open it I receive a message:  ERROR Book has been returned."  I've tested by downloading different ebooks  from the library and then immediately trying to open them on my nook, but receive the same error message. Can anyone advise why this should suddenly be happening and how I can corect the problem?  As usual thanks very much. Ross0D44 

hi, from a few days I use Adobe digital editions on PC (win 10) and now i want to use it on my smartphone Samsung S8.I logged in with my account on my Samsung app, but I can't see the book I downloaded on it, I can see only the User Guide.... I use it in Italian.How can I read the book on my phone?Thanks Riccardo Mattia MOLINA

I inserted a 2GB file book into adobe digital editions to move it to my kobo but right after I dragged the file, It instantly froze up. I tried re-installing ade but it still did not work. Even after downloading ade 3.0, 2.0 and ade 1.0, it still kept freezing. (I have a windows 7) Is there another way to authorize my device or book? because I managed to move the file into the kobo drive without using ADE but it said it was not authorized. 

When trying to add a book to the soft this is the error I ge.Deleted , reinstalling, tryint diff books , NO WAY.Any help . THKNS in advance

On Mavericks 10.9.2, ADE 3.0.  Scrolling is painfullly slow.  If the page happens to have a picture, it gets worse.  Its unusable!Also, why does the application "beep" when I use the arrow keys???  How do I turn this off?

When I read a book with drm from the library I get this message when the time slot is over. The book remains visable and I can not be remove it anymore. The book is not readable. It happens on an iPad 14.2. the message is: error getting license, license server communication problem, W_ADEPT_CORE_EXPIRED  BR

Hola, tengo que borrar la autorizaición de Adobe Digital Eticions para volver a poner una nueva debido a unas instrucciones que me han dado desde EBiblio, debido a que cuando me iba a transferir un libro desde Ebiblio me decia que no se podia poner en contacto con el suministrador,  pero cuando voy ha hacerlo me da un error de que no tengo suministrador de Internet, cuando si que tengo, así que no me deja borrar la autorizaicón, ni hacer nada.

I have just installed Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 and for me it is unusable because there is no customisation options for the display background color.Why is there no option to change the background color to make it more eye friendly? BTW this forum is not white, I did check, it is black on my PC!

I've seen other threads on this topic.  I tried renaming the My Digital Editions folder, and that didn't work.  I've been using 3.0 for about three months because version 4.5 stopped opening.  I was using it 5-6 days per week, and all of a sudden it stopped opening yesterday.  I've tried the suggestions mentioned in previous threads, and none of them have worked.  What am I missing? 

Using a Windows computer either at home or at work I get the following error message when I try to download an EBSCO ebook to Adobe Digital Editions:Unable to DownloadError getting license.  License Server Communications Problem: E_STREAM_ERROR:I have uninstalled and re-installed ADE, ver 4.51.  I have uninstalled ver 4.51 and installed 4.0, but get the error message "Error:  Check Activation!"  Nothing works.  However, only a week or so ago I was not having any problem at all downloading books to my pc.  I've not changed any software beyond versions or any pc settings.  I've pinged EBSCO about it and they point their finger at Adobe.
