Digital Editions

I purchased an eBook back in 2008, it was a huge volume to learn a foreign language vocabulary. I had been using this book for 10 years without any problems on my desktop (Mac) and iPhone. Recently though (after I updated ADE) my desktop refused to authorize it and requested a Vendor ID. Adobe ID does not work. I do remember the email address I used to purchase that book but I am not able to get the password reminder or reset it because the mail server has since been closed down. How would it be possible to retrieve the password and get the book authorized on my desktop? Too, since this was 10 years ago, I do not remember who I purchased it from, so I do not know who to contact to help me retrieve my credentials. Why did this Vendor ID thing just pop up from nowhere after 10 years, and why am I now a hostage of this situation, having legally puchased the book but unable to recover the Vendor password because the email service no longer exists!?!?!

I have it on an old laptop, but when I did it on this laptop, my books did not transfer, All that is on thee is the Get started book.I have many books on the old one.I had installed it on another computer, but then uninstalled it, and installed it on this one.Help

Hi,On my  pc everything is working properly. Even this post is being written online from that same pc. But then when I try to make Adobe Digital Editions activate my account so I can read the ebook I purchased, it just says it cannot connect to the activationserver and I should check the internet connection.What to do? What is the name or address of this activationserver so I can resolve and check the connection?Why do I see this error mentioned in forums and here year after year and it still is keeping your customers to have a great reading experience?regards Edmond

Looking for help with ADE.  When acsm file opens and begins to download the epub content of file, ADE freezes and becomes unresponsive.  Have been experiencing this problem since purchasing books from Dymocks online, 2 of which seemed to be corrupt.  Closed the program and reopened to fine the books listed but when I tried to open the title ADE became unresponsive again and I had to close again. Opened ADE again and removed the titles from the library after viewing files in explorer. Noticed that there were library-sync files in the Cloud-Sync folders as well as epub files in the main My Digital Editions folder so deleted all files from all directory folders with the title names that were causing the freezing including the library-sync files.  Opened ADE again only to find that the book titles were back again and still causing freezing problem on opening.  Deleted the files again from the library and the through explorer, reinstalled ADE, restarted laptop and o

Hi! I need to reset my authorizations for ADE. Over the years, I've lost access to some of the devices I had authorized (phone short-circuited, HD crash, etc) and cannot de-authorize them. How can I reset the authorizations? Thanks in advance. 🙂

Adobe Digital Edition can not work when I start up second time. This program stops with this screen. I tried to start up many times, install again, and activate with my Adobe ID. What I should  do to watch books. hep me please.

I have purchased an ebook for school purposes and need to be able to access it on other devices not just my laptop.  I have seemed to follow every direction correctly yet I cannot open it on any other device except for my laptop.  please lay out step by step how to rectify this,  When I go on the laptop and try to authorize devices it says that you can only authorize a computer that has not been used to authorize previously another other computers or devices. please provide support asap.CoryLynn

Hi, I recently bought a Chinese epub book and successfully loaded it into the library. But, when I opened it to read it, only quotation marks and the illustrations were displayed. The rest of the book was white space. How can one fix this?

Hi,I have the same Adobe ID authenticated on both my laptop and my Samsung versions of adobe digital editions, however, I can only see stuff in my library on my laptop and my mobiles version is empty. I've turned on auto downloads and everything.... could anyone please help?

I just updated the ADE app on my Mac to the latest version (4.5), which is supposed to sync librairies between device registered with the same Adobe ID. When updating the app, as it reloaded, my Adobe ID was still signed in, my computer authorized, etc. Two books I check out of my library are still there (authorized under my Adobe ID). However, when I open the ADE iOS app on my iPhone (and authorize the device with my Adobe ID account), nothing shows up. Not the library books, not the PDFs, not my public domain epubs that are in my Adobe Editions mac app. Am I missing something ? The apps are supposed to sync, right ?

I have authorized my computer and kobo. everything seems to be in order.  but when i attempt to download an ebook from the public library, i get CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED message from ADE.

Hi, I want to download an e-book from an online library to my kobo e-reader using Digital Editions.This worked fine a few weeks ago when I last used it. However, today I get the 'e_auth_not_ready' message when downloading the e-book.I followed the steps on the troubeshooting site and deauthorized the computer and e-reader and removed the dat file, but now I get the e_auth_bad_device_key error message when trying to authorize them again. I followed the steps for that error message and checked the settings in keychain, which are fine. Still the error messages occur and I cannot download the e-book. My ID and password are correct as I can login on the adobe site with them, so that's not the issue.Chatting with an Adobe agent did not help as they only referred to the steps described which I already tried. They refered me to this forum.Can someone help me out? Thanks!Julie

I have an old Adobe account that I have lost the password for and have also lost access to the email address.  Therefore I cannot reset the password, so I cannot deauthorize this PC.

hello!i signed in the beggining of the year as a student (20euros per month for a year), not knowing that if i want to cancel i will be charged 50% of the remaining amount.now i want to cancel my subscription but i would have to pay about 70euros and i am trying to avoid that. Adobe offered me the option to change my plan instead if canceling, so i was thinking of changing it to a cheaper one and then cancel MY QUESTION is - will i be obliged to the NEW cheaper plan for another full year or will it be until the end of this year?thank you very much for the helpers

Hi guys, I tested Adobe Digital for some person and used my Adobe ID to authorize computerThen I download eBook that person purchased. Now, that person wants to download the same eBook but this time using his own Adobe ID.Unfortunately he is unable to do that because there is now link between eBook and my Adobe ID I used to authorize Adobe Digital on my computer. Is it possible to break the link between eBook and computer authorization I did using my Adobe ID so that another person could use the same eBook after authorizing computer using his personal Adobe ID. It worked fine this morning and now nothing. I've tried un/reinstalling, opening as admin, changing library folder name and nothing works.

I’m having a terrible time getting an exported InDesign 3.0 epub to preview using Adobe Digital Editions. ADE opens but then hangs when trying to open the epub. The same file opens correctly in Overdrive, Calibre, MS Edge, and Ice Cream ereaders. This is new behavior since the last update to ADE and InDesign. I’ve tried the following so far:1. Uninstalled ADE, rebooted and reinstalled.2. Uninstalled ADE, cleaned registry of all references to ADE, deleted “My Digital Editions” directory, rebooted then reinstalled.3. De-authorized and re-authorized ADE with my Adobe ID.Nothing works. While I can preview in the other e-readers, I’d like to see book in ADE. Are there any special parameters I may have missed in the export preferences? Just downloaded, installed and ID verified the Adobe Digital Edition file and successfully procured my first ebook. After download and verification I can't read full page when opening and reading document, bottom 2-3 lines of page is missing? Have tried full screen view without luck. My plan was to use ADE because I many time can't wait for shipment of books, but have to go back to books if this problem can't be solved.How to solve problem, please help???

Cette application me permettait de lire un livre acheté sur Altiko, bibliothèque sur Android Samsung - tablette Note 10.1.J'ai changé d'ordinateur pour le windows 10; j'ai réinstallé adobe digital edition et depuis lors tout m'est refusé. Adobe veut je suppose une autorisation et à chaque intervention de ma part, il m'est indiqué : "Id ou mot de passe erronés. Réessayez ." J'ai changé mon mot de passe par trois fois. Adobe me reconnaît avec mon Id et donc je ne crois qu'il faille changer d'Id mais peut-être que si?Où est le bug?J'ai lu que je pouvais aller dans le registre de Windows mais est-ce bien nécessaire? Je n'ai pas envie de faire une erreur.Je ne comprend pas pourquoi tout allait très bien avec Windows 7 et plus maintenant. E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS Error when trying to authorize an E-Reader

Whenever I click on an internal link, is there any way to immediately return to where I was before clicking? I'd love it if this operated more like a browser, with a back button and maybe even the ability to open links in new tabs within the program. That would be perfect. Unfortunately, my understanding of how to use the program as it currently exists discourages me from using any of those would-be helpful navigational links added to indices and such. It's great to be able to perform a quick search for individual words and phrases in this roughly-two-million-word-length study bible I'm trying to get through, but it's kind of a bummer to have to scroll back to where I had just been after clicking on a cross-reference. If anyone has a better solution to share with me--hopefully something like a back button that I've simply overlooked--I would much appreciate it.

HiI just got Adobe Digital Edition while signing out an online text from the University of Victoria.  I want to highlight and make annotations/notes digitally but the features are gray, I can't choose them.How do I enable all the features to work?Thanks

When I copy book from library to adobe, adobe will not allow me to copy to my kobo.Under item info it states "copying not allowed"What am I doing wrong?
