I down loaded an e book from the Toronto library using overload app to my computer. downloaded ade . created an adobe id. authorized computer. when I tried to transfer book on my computer to the kobo using ade the book is not listed.could it be a problem with the acsm file?

Dear Adobe Digital Editions Team,I've reached my limit of authorized devices (since ebook readers and phones tend to break every now and then..) and would like to deactivate some of them. I have owned a Kobo eReader for five months. It worked real good till about two months ago when I got messages telling me that I had gone over the licences allotted to my eReader. I also got a message telling me I was not authorised to download books.  I have reset the eReader and tried to download books from my local library but get nowhere.  The messages that I get are CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED. No permission to copy book and E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS. Under the settings on the eReader, under accounts my eReader states that the eReader is not authorised.  I re authorise the eReader and once again try to download books but cannot open them in the eReader.  I can read them on my PC.  I can get them onto the PC through Adobe Digital Editions but cannot move them to the eReader because of the licencing problem.  Anyone have a solution to this.Terry

As I was reading my ebook and went to the next page, the remainder of the chapter was automatically highlighted, and a darker band of yellow spreads across the bottom of all of the pages. I cannot select any of the text to remove the highlight. Does anyone know how I can remove it?TIA

Someone please help.  I just bought an e-book, downloaded ADE to my laptop (w/windows) and went to put the book in my ADE library, but I'm getting the following error message:"Connection Error Detected.  Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server.  Please make sure you are connected to the internet."There is nothing wrong with my internet connection.How can I resolve this?

Can anyone tell me how to get the licences reset on my Kobo eReader.   I have tried over the last few months to get them reset, but what is disturbing is that some of the posts that I have seen on the forum date back to 2009. Eight years and the problem is still ongoing!  I have even contemplated returning the eReader and getting a refund as I don't seem to be getting anywhere with it.  I was able to download a few books and then got the messages -E_BAD_LOAN_ID,  CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED No permission to copy book,  and the most annoying one, E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS. Therefore I cannot download anything from my library and I am at loggerheads with this problem.  Who do I talk to about the licences ?  If I reauthorise my computer and eReader as I have had to do am I using up my six licences?  Currently I am using Adobe Digital Editions 4:5 and prior to this problem ADE 4:5 worked okay. Hi!When I try and open a purchased .ascm publication I get the error: "Connection Error Detected""Digital Editions couln't connect to the fulfillment server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet."Obviously I am connected to the Internet, as I am able to post this from the very same conputer (PC with Win7 Enterprise) so any advice on how to fix this issue?BR / JP

I was on the chat with your support for a request about deleting my Adobe Digital Edition and they told me to write a post in the forum.In another post I can see that people get a personal message concerning this.Please contact me about deleting my Adobe Digital Edition account.I was trying to find an online account deletion feature and thereby creating an Adobe ID. Please delete the Adobe ID as well.

I'm posting this because I am furious! I just bought a new computer. ADE 4.5.6 downloads and installs just fine, it even let me authorize my computer. Now however it keeps "Not Responding" when I try to open the program or a book I got from the library. I followed advice from the forums and downloaded ADE 3, which does work, but has not had any security updates since 2014!In this day and age, computer security is a must. I feel that Adobe either needs to provide new security updates for ADE 3 or how about FIXING ADE 4.5.6 so it WORKS!And heaven forbid that you are actually allowed to speak to an actual person about this, because ADE is a free program, so nope, sorry, can't actually let you SPEAK to anyone.Very angry about this...Kelly

Just downloaded and installed the ADE 4.5.4 on my Mac and also downloaded a book from ProQuest Ebook Central. As trying to open the downloaded book, this is how far I can get - An Error message like this:Error getting License. I have a problem with my account for the Adobe Digital Editions. It is for Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) for ebook-reader. I have just 1 ebook-reader (tolino). When activating on a second ebook-reader I get the messagethat the number of 6 possible devices is reached. E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS The solution from the community forum is to contact the support so that there one can reset the counter to 0. When chatting with the support he suggested to open a case here where someone will help me(means for me to reset the counter).So please reset the counter!Thanks in advance

I read part of it previously, and have just gone back to read more but I get the error that my account is not associated with the item. This is the only account I have. HiMy library has opened a ebook service. I've got a BQ Classic ereader but once I've transfered the ebook to my ereader, when I try to open it, it says "The book is not readable". I follow the instructions established by the library and the manufacturer's indications, as they answered when I sent them when I discover the error. https://www.bq.com/en/support/help/650They recommended to follow exactly those instructions and in case that shouldn't work, to ask Adobe. Hello all,I recently started using my ADE software again, but I have found that the software just crashes constantly when I am trying to use it. It crashes when I download books, when I try to move the EPUB files to my reading device, and it just crashes when I literally try to view a pre-existing EPUB. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, is there any solutions to this? *My ADE is the latest version, so it isn't a lack of updates issue

Hello,In Windows 10 taskbar menu, I see the entry 'Uninstall' (alone, without more information).Checking for the source, I see that it is related to the file UNINSTALL.EXE in '"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions 4.5"' folder.Is'nt it strange that this file is not digitally signed (All others files have a digital signature 'Adobe system incorporated') ?So now my question: Is that file really secure ?Thanks,Charles

Please someone knows how to set Adobe Digital Edition as default app to open .ePub on tablet?I have a Asus Nexus 7, Screen 1280x800 and Android 5.1.1.Interactive fixed layout ePub downloaded are opened directly with Google Play Books and interactive element are missed.On iBookstore the same file works perfectly, so I'm pretty sure the file is ok.On Android I can't open the ePub with a default app different from Play Books?Thanks in advance for your kind help.
