In theGetting Started With ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS 4.5 it is stated:Ifyou choose to authorize without an ID, ADE will enable reading of the book onlyon your computer. You will not be able to read it on other eReader devices orother computers (or the same computer if you re-install). If you don’t plan onmoving your books to other computers (or re-installing), this approach willwork for you.When Iinstalled ADE on my PC it was done without an ID authorization. I have tried tochange this to authorization with an ID by using the help function in ADE. I havefiled in ID and password and then pressed continue but I only get up:You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that has not beenpreviously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Hey, I need to authorize another computer of mine to be able to read the ebooks.

I can't open ebooks on my Kobo aura because I get the following message: Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:E_ACT_NOT_READY

When I try to download ebooks to ereader it comes up with 'no permission to copy'. Never had this problem before using 2.0 edition. Just installed latest 4.0 edition of adobe reader.

Recently, I changed my ADE account and email server. I did not deauthorize my reader and computer. Nachdem ich ADE heruntergeladen habe wollte ich meinen Computer autorisieren allerdings zeigt er mir nach dem ich alles eingegen hatte an das Anmelde-ID/Kennwort für ausgewählten eBook-Anbieter faltsch ist und ich es erneut versuchen sollte. Ich kann mich allerdings mit der gleichen ID und dem Passwort problemlos auf der Webseite Anmelden und das Downlode ist auch von der officellen Seite.Nach der Stadt Bücherei ist es ein Fehler von Adobe.Was kann ich da machen? I downloaded the updated Adobe [4.5] and uninstalled the 1.7Now I can not transfer any of my digital books.The Adobe site says that if I had both installed and uninstalled it they then disassociate the EPUB and ASCM files...Help!

I noticed that this comes up often in the discussions.  I have exceeded my allowed activations for digital editions and I can't activate my ereader.  Does anyone know how I can re-set my authorizations?  I have opened up a web case, but have not received any help (they closed my case). I was told by customer service to try the forum.  Can anyone help?Thanks!

I haven't been able to use Adobe Digital Editions for some time. I receive "error! Check activation" every time I  download a book from OverDrive. My computer is authorized. Directions are to erase the authorization and authorize again. I usually first get an error that states " can't do that right now try again later" I immediately try again and it doesn't take my password. This is the same password I use with my Adobe account. I have Adobe CC. Don't know where to go from here. Should I reset my Adobe password?

I get the following message when I try to open a book on my Kobo reader that I have downloaded from the library via Digital Editions:  "The content you are trying to view is locked!  Please use your Adobe ID to authorize your reader with the Kobo Desktop Application or Adobe Digital Editions."I can find a way to authorize my computer with Adobe Editions, and had already done that, but can find to way to authorize the reader!

Whenever I try to use my search function it does not work. I place the work I am interested in searching for in the toolbar, hit enter and nothing happens. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I authorized my computer with the incorrect Adobe ID, but now I cannot authorize my computer with the correct Adobe ID. It will not let me deauthorize the wrong account nor allow me to authorize the correct account.

Hello,I borrowed two books from my library and downloaded them into ADE. I authorized my computer with my account, I authorized my Kobo with the account. I added the books to my e-reader and ejected it. When I try to open the books it told me that it wasn't authorized to open them. I returned the books and logged out of all the accounts. I started fresh making sure everything was lined up in my other account. Proceeded as before. Now it is saying "You ereader is not authorized to open the book" "you need to re-import the book". But I did already! This has been over an hour long process and I am getting angry, and no one is offering any help from any company.

I use it for library loans and it was working fine, then it wouldn't open lately. I didn't change anything on my pc.I tried to install the newest version and it still won't open. tried to open as admin-nothing... HELP?????

I downloaded ADE 4.5.5. I can read the sample books from ADE without any problems. But...I have twice now had e-pubs sent to me. I added them to my library and the book covers show up along with all the other useful information. Nothing happens, though, when I click on the books. Instead, I get the message "ADE not responding" and the little circle just cycles round and round non-stop. The books never open. If I click on ADE, a window pops up and asks me if I want to quit the application. I'm using Windows 10.

I work at the Library of the University of Manchester, book purchasing dept. We are testing logging on to multiple platforms to read eBooks. I'm using an iphone and an ipad to test this. I've got EBSCO eBooks, Adobe Digital Editions, BlueFire Reader and VLeBooks apps all downloaded on each. I have to authorise them on each device but I only have so many authorisations I can do. I'm trying to replicate it as a student to give us a better understanding about what they go through. So if there is a hitch I have to investigate why there is one The only one I can't authorise is EBSCO eBooks as it says I have too many authorisations. Please can someone help as I thought it was a simple question for the chat support but they were useless and they sent me here. And I've no idea where to post this question and I'm pretty frustrated.
