Digital Editions

There is a very great misconception, on the part of Adobe, that persons contacting them are very knowledgable about computers and their product.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Persons, like me, are only into ADE because that is how our library transfers books from their shelves to our E-readers.  When we finally figure out how to get onto chat, we are told that Adobe does not support this particular product and go to Adobe forums.  When we go to forums we are told to contact staff, with no instructions as to how to contact staff.  If it was not for the fact that I pay membership to the library and want to read my books, i would not ever bother with Adobe or ADE.  But I, and others like me, are stuck.  I am not the only one who pays over a hundred dollars for an E-Reader and then am unable to get satisfaction in getting it set up.  I am not the only one with the error message that I have exceeded my allowance of units for ADE.  I

I have problems with my ADE. It works fine as long as the Kobo ereader is not connected.As soon as I connect my ereader ADE no longer works.What can I do to solve this because I am unable to transfer books from my library to my ereader.

Hello everybody,when loading a book (ePub) by Adobe Digital Editioon I received an error message. After that I could not open the app again: "Loading Library" appeared for days. Uninstall and download again did not solve the problem. What can I do?BestGuido

I've seen some more people with this issue but no solutions...The situation is: Our Mac had a new harddrive installed last september due to issues, I copied back my account details from a Time Machine backup, (no programs). Today I installed Adobe digital editions but it’s somehow authorized to an much older version of my Adobe ID, using an old e-mail address I no longer use and don’t have access to or have a password for (it’s deleted), so de-authorizing is also not an option.Also I can’t add a new authorization so I can’t access my e-reader which is authorized with my current e-mail address.How can I remove this older authorization version of my ID?

I can't transfer ebook from pc to Galaxy S4 tablet.  PC doesn't display Galaxy as an available device.  Do I have to install adobe ade on the Galaxy?

Using a MacBook Pro, have newest version of ADE installed and need to deauthorize it. It has an old computer authorization in there as the Authorized User (AdobeID) that I no longer have access to - it's an old email address. I have no idea what the password is, can't do a reset since I don't have the email anymore.I tried removing ADE and reinstalling, but it pulled the old authorization info from somewhere. I do have a new Adobe ID and email I want to use instead. How do I get rid of the old one if I can't remember the password??

I'm a student and I'm trying to download my etext. It will not let me because I did not sign up under "Campus ebookstore". Is there anyway I could change my account to a vendor ID/password?

Hi All,I installed Adobe Digital Edition on Server 2008 R2 XenApp 6.5 Farm. I authorized the product using company Adobe ID but when user is launching the published app, Adobe Digital Edition is not authorized. When I attempt to download a book from my local library I get a message indicating that I have no permission to copy the book and when I try to open a book on my Kobo Reader it tells me that this document could not be opened. I have tried deactivating and then reactivating on the Help tab in ADE but that did not work.

I am unable to open library books on my Kobo.  I get a message saying this document is protected By Adobe DRM and is not currently authorised for use with your adobe ID.  This is new as I have been using the Kobo for about 3 years now.  I have uninstalled ADE 2.0 and installed ADE 3.0 as advised by Kobo.  I have deauthorised the ID on both computer and Kobo and then reauthorised the ADE ID on both.  Still no luck.  Books open fine on the pc but won't open on Kobo.  I contacted Kobo who say the problem is not with their device.  Any help please?

I keep getting an authorization error when I download a book - the seller/publisher has reset everything and says I should be fine.  I've uninstalled and re-downloaded/installed Adobe Digital Editions, reset my password, etc. and still getting same error.  I decided to try to deauthorize the computer, and it gives me the common error of wait some time and try again.  None of it is working.I did a chat discussion with support and did not receive ANY help and was told to post here and support would reply via email to me.  There is no case number I can find in the transcript.

Hello,I am trying to authorize my MacBook to gain access to a textbook for university. I have been following a video tutorial provided by the university, and all was going well until I reached this error. Please help! As this is time sensitive and I will fall behind in the course if I can't make this work somehow. I no longer have an Hotmail email and my digital editions is tied to this email.  I want to add my current email address but I can't until I de-authorize the old one.  I no longer know the password therefore I can't reset the password.  Can anyone help me?  I've made several attempts with the chat room and they are of no help.

Hi I am having a problem with the Adobe Export PDF product - when I try toexport multi page PDF documents like bank statements (8 pages long) to Excelthe document appears as 40 pages of gibberish. I downloaded and authorized my computer and device with Adobe Digital Editions.  I borrowed a book from my local library.  I am unable to read my ebook on my computer, nor am I able to transfer the book to my device.  I'm getting a message stating that this computer is unable to open my book because of a vendor ID.  I can't even return the book.  Help please.

Have registered Adobe Digital Edition as a user and email address of user is current. In my new Kobo reader with same email address it states in settings "not authorized with ADE." Have re-set the Kobo - still no change. Have tried to go into ADE to erase current email authorized address. Can't do the function to erase. Use ADE to access my library. Have checked my overdrive account as well. Called Kobo and got me to de-install Adobe 4.5 and go back to 3.0. Still - no sucess. How do I start all over and access my library using my adobe account?

I'm not too sure if this problem has been posted and resolved previously. I'm on MacOS El Capitan (v10.11.6) on MacBookPro (Late 2008) if it helps.I installed the latest (4.5.4) version of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) and something went wrong with what I did (I seriously don't remember it now) and it crashed on subsequent launch. I later uninstalled that version, emptied the trash, and downloaded/installed a fresh copy, which again crashed on launch. This time though I repeated the cycle and followed the instructions from this URL: Installation issues for Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 but it hasn't resolved the issue.I'd definitely appreciate if someone could guide me to a clean(er) uninstall and a successful reinstall of ADE. I'm getting anxious for not finding the root cause.Bhooshan

I cannot download any books to Adobe Digital Editions because I keep getting the above error message. I think it is because the e-mail address associated with Adobe is an old e-mail address. But I cannot change to my new address because I do not know the Adobe ID number associated with that old e-mail address. Also, I cannot use the "forgot password" because the e-mail from Adobe with my old password will be sent to the old e-mail address that is defunct. Does anyone know how I can get around this issue?

After downloading from Ontario Library downloads, when I go to my Adobe Digital Editions page, I receive the message "check activation", and then you must click OK.  My computer is authorized as is my KOBO Aura eReader.I do not understand what the "check activation" is referring to?  how do I fix this?
