I just downloaded Adobe Digital Editions on my new laptop. I activated my laptop and signed in but my previously purchased book is not listed.  How do I view my ebook?

Hi,I was trying to download my first e-book (on my Sony phone) from my library without knowing that I needed some programs/apps to go with it. 😃Created an Adobe-id, downloaded ADE and also Bluefire to go with it since that's what my library recommends. But now I get an errormessage when I'm trying to open the ACSM-file:According to my library the book was downloaded with an standard Adobe-ID since I downloaded it without my own account? How do I get rid of this account that's authorized to the book?I hope you understand my dilemma. I'm from Sweden... Thanks!Lisette

error occurs when trying to open a book downloaded from the library on my kobo e reader. I have transferred books before. what to do.

I am having problems downloading a book from my public library. I get it downloaded and copied to my Nook, but when I try and open it, it says the book has been returned. I try to redo this and I get several copies of the book, it "restores" old copies from previous attempts. I have also seen a message that I don't have "permissions" to copy the book to my Nook. Please... Can anyone help? I'm trying to borrow it/check it out from my library, but I do think it will work if I "buy" it., but I was hoping to avoid doing this, and I wonder if this will be a problem with all the future books I try to check out from my library. I use our local library here in Minneapolis, Hennepin County Library, and the book I am trying to check out, is "Reckless Desire", the third of a three book set, which the first two downloaded and opened fine, no problems.  Thanks very much for any help or suggestions anyone can offer..!!!          Cheryl

I have been downloading library books for 2-3 years very successfully.  I got a notice that said "Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server.   Please make sure you are connected to the internet."  I am connected to the internet and have taken this problem to the library.  They were unable to help me download the books.  It will go to my browser but not to my Kobo.  Vista is my operating system.  Could that suddenly be the problem?  Any suggestions?

Bonjour, Je suis sur une plateforme " NetGalley " pour recevoir des ebooks gratuitement, mais avec une DRM. Il a fallu que j'installe ADOBE Digital édition pour pouvoir les lire. J'arrive à lire les ebooks sur mon pc, mais au moment que je veux les ouvrir sur ma liseuse Trekstor, celle-ci ce met en veille avant se rallumer. Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier qui s'ouvrais pourtant correctement sur mon ordinateur. Comment faire pour pourvoir les lire sur cette dernière ? Je vous remercie par avance.

Hello, I have trouble with an E-book I downloaded from my local library. I can download the .ascm-file but when I try to open it I get the error message E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TOO_SHORT. I deauthorized and reauthorized my ADE several times with no effect. I deleted and re-downloaded the files several times with no effect. I uninstalled and reinstalled my ADE several times with no effect. I contacted my library and after long E-mail back and forth I got the answer that it has to be a local error as the file is perfectly fine at the support guy's computer.I tried to google a solution myself and found that "deleting the adept key in the registry editor" might be the solution: but what does that mean? How do I delete the adept key in the registry error?Maybe also interesting: the file is somehow saved in cloud sync. I tried to delete the cloud sync file, which I can do, but when I reopen the ADE the book is (empty) in the library again...Thanks for your help

When downloading an ebook, I clicked the "Save" option for always do this with this file. How to I go back into ADE and remove that designation. Before I clicked the "always do this" box, I had the option to Open or Save. I want to have the option again and not have it automatically open the Save dialogue box. Thanks!

Whenever I hit "DOWNLOAD EPUB eBook" when I am in my Overdrive Library account trying to download a book, it does pull up Adobe Digital Editions.  But then it the book won't download.  It just keeps "downloading content" forever, but does not actually stop or finish.So then I exit Adobe Digital Editions, and try "DOWNLOAD EPUB eBook" again.  And again, the book won't download.  It just keeps "downloading content" forever, but does not actually stop or finish.Sometimes, when I exit, it says that the program is not responding.Then I pull up Adobe Digital Editions without downloading the book, and it has two copies of the book on Adobe Digital Editions.  So I remove one, because I only need one, not two.  Then I right-click "read" on the other book, and Adobe Digital Editions freezes up and says the program is not responding.Please help.  I don't know if I have to reset up Adobe Digital Editions or not.  But it is not working for me at all.

I use a PC.  I have recently been affected by malware, and all of my digital edition books I purchased are encrypted.  How can I re-download the copies of these books I purchased already?

HiI have a problem with ADE on my macbook pro. I use OS X El Capitan and i need ADE to put books on my ebook reader. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all!!I used to have Version 1.7 about a year ago and it worked for a while. But it doesn't work anymore, neither does the actual version 4.5.4. When i open the .acsm file ADE starts running but it's just loading and doesn't accomplish. Then i have to shut down my macbook to close the program because I can't even quit the program regularely. I already tried to uninstall the program several times and i tried to install both versions from safari and mozilla firefox, neither one worked. I am really frustrated, because apple couln't help me on their support and here's no phone number or chat, so I could talk to somebody about this issue. I really want to read books on my ebook reader again and it annoys me that there is no alternative to ADE and I can't solve the problem.Please help me asap. Thanks!

Related to the documented procedure to fix the E_AUTH_NOT_READY issue.The host computer, and the existing Sony Reader (discontinued device, unfortunately) is currently authorized with an Adobe ID through the corresponding Sony "Reader for PC" application.I try now to add a new reader (Kobo), and possibly transfer existing DRM-ed epub books to it.For this purpose I have installed ADE 4.5, and by default ADE doesn't detect this PC as being authorized (presumably because the authorization has been performed through Sony Reader for PC).When trying to authorize it (and hopefully, also the attached new reader - the Kobo), I get the E_AUTH_NOT_READY error.I have read the instructions to work around it, but wonder if by first deauthorizing the PC, then re-authorizing ity, I will NOT lose access to ANY of my current books, authorized with the Sony Reader app (and the same Adobe ID). I am afraid to perform any destructive step without any way to revert to the previous situation in the case of pr

A little information first...Tablet information...Manufacture:      SonyModel:               Xperia 4 (SGP771)Android Version:  7.0  Adobe Digital Editions App information...Version 4.5.4Update 29/01/2017I have downloaded the link from Saxo.dk "urllink (2).ascm" to my download directory of my Tab...As soon as I try to open the link "urllink (2).ascm" the Adobe Digital Editions app opens and nothing happens... I believe that it's the "Adobe Digital Editions" App, as the popup screen for the download of the book doesn't appear. I have downloaded the same app on my Sony Z2 and Z3 phone and it seams to work correctly. ?????So this has left me to clear the "Adobe Digital Editions" app cache and then the data, then finally force stop and uninstall the ADE app. When it was reinstalled that I still had the 7 habits ebook, but I tried again with the link no joy as no pop up screen appered!De

I am trying to download an acsm file in Downloads (running Firefox) and everytime the download is complete Adobe Digital Editions comes back with a message that Adobe Digital Editions has "unexpectedly stopped".I am running Safari on a Macbook Pro. Is this likelt to be a problem associated with Firefox? Until I get some discussion going I will close down Firefox nd run Safari instead.

Would you like to Save or Cancel'I save the file and then go to downloads, when I click on the 4.5 version download, nothing happens. So I reinstall version 3.I am able to purchase books from Kobo but I still not able to borrow books. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Or at least give me some advice on something else to try.

My old computer died. I've purchased a new one. When I try to download a book, I get an error message: E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER. So how do I convince Adobe that I am the same person who purchased the book in the first place?

It said that I cannot confirm my id on this computer because I use from an other computer or cell phone and I don't think that i'm using it from some where elsesomeone can help me please ? Thank you

I bought my pdf from broadviewpress, I am working on a pc and I believe the issue was caused as I tried opening the file through the recommended app which was "Overdrive- Ebooks and Audiobooks" but since it didn't work as it couldn't open up pdf's I had to go back and try the original instructions which led me to download abobe digital editions.  Now each time I try to download I get this message "E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER."  Please advise as to how to proceed.

Soweit so gut.Auf meinem Tolino E-Book Reader habe ich ebenfalls alle meine E-Books.Jetzt wollte ich die App im Playstore runter laden (Tab ist Android - Samsung irgendwas...) ging auch super, aber er zeigt mir die E-Books auf dem PC nicht an!Hab beide Programme offen, aber er ladet sie einfach nicht auf mein Tab.Hab sie kopiert und im Verzeichnis im Tab eingefügt - geht nicht!Hab das Programm auf dem PC gelöscht und neu installiert - geht nicht!Hab die E-Books noch mal dort runtergeladen wo ich sie gekauft habe - geht nicht!Ich bin verzweifelt!!! Was kann ich noch tun? Der Support sagt, da können sie mir nicht helfen weil kostenloses Programm!HILFE!!! Ich verzweifle!!!

I can download files from Edelweiss and it will automatically open Adobe Digital, but the file never appeareally in the library.
