Digital Editions

Titles appear to download correctly but can't be opened.  Non-protected documents such as the getting started guide open fine.Have tried both 4.5.1.139278 and 3.0.1.91394, to no avail.  I've also tried resetting my adobe id password.Redownloading then dragging onto the app used to give "INTERNAL ERROR", but now gives "Error check activation" on 3.0, 4.5.1 hangs after the "Fulfilling..." dialog "Downloading Content..." bar completes.After restarting the app, the books show up, and show as Licensed and Viewable on any device, Copying and Printing not allowed.  Opening a book hangs Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.1(Note that this is all before this evening's Adobe outage.)Any thoughts?

When I try to open it with Adobe Digital Editions, I get an error:Unable to download. Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_NO_TOKENMy computer is a iMac, macOS Sierra 10.12.3. Adobe Digital Editions is version 4.5. The computer is authorised with my Adobe Id.

Why is my Adobe Digital not receiving downloads from 3M Cloud (Cloud Library). This is a program that the Maryland Libraries use to borrow/read ebooks. The 3M Cloud just had an update last week and now when i check out an ebook from the library it will not download into my Adobe Digital. i have no issues with checking out books with 3M Cloud, it's just not linking with my Adobe Digital program on my computer. Any suggestions?

Despite the 'question answered' status of a previous thread for this question (by 'lizardtales' on Sept 13/16), I am having the same issue and the answer there does not work for me. I have ADE 4.5.2 installed in a Dell PC with Windows 10 as originally installed (i.e. not an update). I download books in EPUB from a public library and moved them to  ADE - where they wll not open. The system just hangs - except for one book (of the three I have tried) that did open. All are the same format from the same library.I returned the non-working books and redownloaded them.Now I can't return them.  One of the books does not show up in the Library at all, though both show in Explorer. For the other, when I click the delete button, the Library says there is no record, maybe it was returned, though the icon is in the Library. Today I made an unauthorized account thinking I would not need to make one, realizing seconds later I was wrong I made an account on my phone and tried to log in my computer however it did not allow me to have multiple devices so I deleted the app from my phone and logged in on my computer however my already downloaded Book did not follow me. so now it will not let me download the book because it is being used by an old non-ID access.  I have already talked to Adobe Chat help and they told me to come here I can not explain how many times I have done this today and I obviously have no idea what I am doing so Please help me reset something Its like I have two different accesses to Adobe but one has no password or ID so no ID no user no book.

I am trying to Authorize my ADE using overdrive. My credentials seem to be incorrect or maybe I am using the wrong ones.I am getting "Incorrect login ID or password for the selected eBook vendor. Please try again."I have tried both the email address and library card # as the Vendor Login ID. My overdrive account has a very simple password. What should be I using?

I ordered an ebook from the publisher and opened it in digital editions no problem - i had not authorized my copy of digital editions on my personal teaching computer. i then authorized my personal teaching computer with my adobe id about month later to synch with books i had purchased on my personal dissertation computer with a specific account. however when i entered digital editions on the personal teaching computer it no longer allowed me to open the book from the publisher instead it gave me the error message above. namely, "this computer needs to be authorized with vender id to open". I wrote to the publisher and they gave me a new link to the book. it still doesn't open and gives me the same message. I figured it had to do with the email account which differs from the one i contacted the publisher with and the one i have my adobe id with. so i requested the publisher change my email account associated with it. they said it is not something that they do but rather i had to contac

almost daily I get a "is not responding" next to the upper left sign of ADE. What am I doing wrong?

I want to connect Digital Editions to my new e-reader. But Digital Editions turns out te be authorized by an old Adobe ID. This ID belongs to a provider I do not use anymore. I cannot recollect the password so I can't remove the authorization. Removal of the entire program doesn't work either. So, wat to do?

HelloAdobe Customer Care told me to come here for help from the website technical support team.  I'm trying to download a library book to my Kobo but Adobe Digital Editions is giving me the following message -I would prefer not to share my email address if this is a public forum.  I'm a little confused if this is customer service or some sort of general, open site.Susan

I think that I am losing it.....I am having trouble downloading books to my kobo from the Toronto Public Library.Their support desk sent instructions to help remedy the issue.They advised to uninstall ADE from our computer and then install version 3.0.Their instructions for uninstalling ADE didn't work but I was able to 'get rid of it' by highlighting the app and then hitting the command button ( on my mac) and the delete button and away it went...I then installed ADE 3.0.However I still cannot download books.......The error message reads: Unable to download. Error getting License:License Server Communication Problem. E_ACT_NOT_READYThey sent the address for a website to find help re this specific error message but this specific error message was not addressed by the website that they suggested.HELP.......please.....

I use ADE several times a year in concert with Overdrive to sideload books onto my e-reader.  Had to rebuild my laptop last fall, and since then, I've been having trouble.  I solved the problem where ADE didn't recognize my Nook.  Most recently, it won't open.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but when I click on the icon, nothing happens.  Even the installation didn't seem to go as I remember.  It seems like the installer installed, but I never got a setup wizard or got asked to authenticate my account.  Is this a known issue/conflict?  What else can I try? I've check in the forum and there are a some problems with ADE 4.5.4 on Windows 10 and there are any answers from ADOBE on those problems.I have the same problem with ADE4.5.4 on Windows 10 (ADE does not respond) and I'd like to have a solution from Adobe about that please.Thank you.

How do I de-authorize a device in Aldiko Reader (Android). There is no menu option to perform this de-authorization on my Aldiko reader. I am transferring my Adobe DRM books to a new Android device and do not wish to use one more new activation from Adobe

I have a BAUHN reader and have downloaded files from a public library. The files are in EPUB format and I have an authorized Adobe account.The files open for reading in Adobe Digital Editions on my computer. They appear in the reader library but when I try to open them the message "File Open Failed" appears. No other options are available on the reader except to cancel the read attempt. There is no firmware update available for the reader.Suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to download a book but it won't work.  First it told me there was an activation error.  I tried to deactivate but then it told me it couldn't connect to the internet.  I manually deactivated it but now it won't download because it "could not connect to the fulfillment server. Make sure your computer is connected to the internet".  I am using that same computer and connection to place this question in the forum.  Why does it keep saying its not connected?  I have tried with the firewall on and off.

I have attempted to login to Overdrive using my adobe ID and then my library card number (which works on their website) and I get the error message that "the specified account information is not valid." Any help?

I have been using Overdrive for couple of years and I use it to borrow books from local library.  I am now using an iPhone for a year. in the past month, my library number gets wiped off and I have to enter it every time I log in (it doesn't remember as it is supposed to). I even during that login, I have to do it 2 to 3 times before it finally connects everything. There is a message that if you are having certain troubled, delete the program and download it again. So I did that this morning. Then I tried to log in with my Adobe ID and Password as I had done over 2 years ago. It won't accept it and then when I thought of resetting the password, it said the email address doesn't exist. However, I was log in to Adobe with the same ID and password on the laptop!!  Can someone please help me out here? I have read all there is to read in this Adobe Community regarding Overdrive, but nothing helpful. Please help, it's been a frustrating day. Thanks.

I have 2 Adobe ID if I merge the two accounts, eBooks associated with each account they will be downloadable without me to reset the download links from My eBooks provider?

I'm trying to move my Digital Editions (DE) Collections to a new computer.  DE on the old computer is authorized to what is apparently an old ID that is just my name and initial, not an email address.  The latest version of DE, which I've installed on the new computer, won't accept that ID, but requires and email ID.Advice appreciated.

Doing pretty much any action will work for a few seconds then freeze and not respond, and I'll have to shut down the program. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've used 4.5.2 as well as digital editions 3 with the same problem, so I think its a windows problem. I've also tried enabling the app through the firewall settings.After closing the app there appears to be a copy of the borrowed book in the library, but I am unable to copy it to my ereader (kobo) without it not responding and freezing.
