Digital Editions

How do I check activation?  By dumb luck, experimentation, deleting authorization, re-authorization, deleting downloaded Overdrive books, downloading them again, I got 4.5 to work.  Still have no clue WHY I started receiving errors on 2.0 that drove me to download 4.5 & delete 2.0 and start messing around.  Cussing didn't help but I felt better.  ADE proves there is no "free lunch" or truly free ADE.  Users must agree to periodic torture sessions on non-helpful help sites.

1) I bought a book2) I downloaded the .acsm file from the site where i bought3) I installed Adobe Digital Edition (for OSX)4) I did the authorization with my Adobe ID5) I did: File > Add to Library > .acms file6) I have the book readable in Adobe Digital Edition, but when I go to the folder I found a .epub file that is corrupt.

I changed my tablet and smartphone. Now I can not read e-boocs with DRM, Acrobat always has the message "Too many activations. How do I solve this problem?

Hello,I ordered the DSM-5 as an ebook from appi.org about 6 months ago. It worked for a while until I had to upgrade to Windows 10. I deleted the book because it wouldn't open in Digital Editions, and I figured I needed to redownload it like I had to with my Kindle books. I redownloaded Digital Editions, AND redownloaded the DSM-5. Digital Editions works with the free ebook downloads, but when I successfully download the DSM and try to open it with Digital Editions, I get a messages that says "Error: Check Activation." I called customer service for appi.org. The lady gave me a new digital ebook free of charge, but I had the same problem. I just dished out another $124 to buy ANOTHER ONE, and it still will not open--but the free ebooks from the same website will open just fine in Digital Editions. I even tried to hit "add to library" to scan my files and pull the downloaded ebook in that way, but when I did that, the digital ebook file that is in my download folder (yes, I'm looking in

I have a Kobo Touch, have successfully downloaded ADE and I am unable to authorize the device to it.  I get the message:"Activation Server Error:  Digital Editions has encountered an error on the activation server"Is there a way to fix this??Thanks

I've used ADE version 2.0 successfully for several years.  Transition to Windows 10 didn't introduce any problems.  Severalmonths after that transition, I've started getting the erros shown above. Any hints? What does that error mean and how do I rectify that problem?

Any ideas?  I tried re-installing the program to no avail?

I recently downloaded Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.2 on my computer. I can download books from the local library just like I could with an earlier ADE.It appears that I can transfer a book to my Nook because the book ikon appears in my library, but I can't get to any pages of the downloaded book. Does anyone have a suggestion? This problem occurs on two Nooks.

E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS Error when trying to authorize an E-Reader„

I bought a used reader in ebay. Manufacturer: RockChip V 1.0.5.  I authorised the reader and i can download book on it. I can oped them with the PC but not with the reader. Message: File open failed or Invalid active info.  I found out that this reader is not listed among the supported readers. Can i do something or do i  have to throw it in  the garbage?

purchased some books that have to read with ADE, downloaded the soft ware, but when i tried to open the book I get a message mut have DRM..so the sreen opens and i put in my adobe password and ID...but it is not recognized but i can log into my adobe account

Adobe Digital Editions has worked like a dream forever on my MAC until today and now it seems like everything creates an error.This morning when downloading a book from the library I got the following error message:IO Error on Network Request. So naturally I contact overdrive as I thought it was an error on the specific book. They asked me to repair user permissions, uninstall adobe digital, restart computer and then reinstall.So I do all this and next thing you know I get the following error message: Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READYSo then I look at this forum see that I should deauthorize my account and then reauthorize. Perfect. So then I try to deauthorize and I get the following message: Unable to Erase Authorization.So I find some advice on here to go into /library/application support/adobe/adobe digital editions. However, I don't have adobe digital editions listed here I have only:  /library/application support/adobe/flash player

I have windows 7 and always use the library site to get ebooks. When I download the book or borrow it, it opens up my adobe digital edition and the book is always there. I've tried to borrow a few different books now, and after ADE opens it says: UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD. Error getting licence. Licence Server communication problem E-STREAM-ERROR.How do I fix this????

Downloaded public library book will not open on my Nook simple touch.Error message says "User not activated"

I am trying to get a book from the library downloaded to Adobe Editions but I keep getting activation error notice.Any help would be much appreciated. I have already tried uninstalling Editions and replacing with no luck.

Hi...I've been using Adobe Digital Editions for several years now, but for the last couple of days I've been unable to download ebooks from my library.  I get the above Error message, which also includes: E_STREAM_ERROR:  Not sure what this means.  Checked my authentication info - and that's still fine, If anyone has had this issue before, could you please let me know what the solution is?  I can't get past this error message, so...really frustrating as I can't do anything else with the program!  Thanks.

I am trying to Erase Computer Authorization and it says "Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time." It didn't work yesterday and it won't work today. The reason that I am doing this is because when I try to download a book to study for an upcoming exam, it says "Error! Check Activation."

Ï've tried the support team - they referred me to you.  I bought an e-book a year ago (on previous laptop).  I had to create an Adobe Digital Editions account to read the book, which I did.  Since then I replaced the old laptop with a new one, reset my Adobe account password, but keep getting the above error message and thus cannot read this ebook.  I've even tried to redownload the book from the original purchase order number, but then it says it was already downloaded.  Attached screenshots of the various screens and error message.The error messageThe book in my libraryThe original orderI've been battling for hours - will appreciate if somebody can assist to fix this!
